100% Analysis correctI am just watching Spurs v Aston Villa on TV. There has been 4 goals in 86 mins. All of the goals would be impossible to get in FC 27 (at least using "Authentic"). That just sums up the game for me. It is still a pass or run to the box and press the shoot button simulator.
All these changes with "authentic" and the career mode dont mean anything to me and you can get as many new people in the positions saying the right things but it is plain to see, these guys still dont understand football and cant make a compelling game.
Watch a real match and look for player’s “micro-adjusting” and jittering like a squirrel whose had too much coffee. You don’t see it obviously. Players do a lot of walking. So long as they’re generally in the right spot, they conserve their energy and hold their position with a walk, stand or light jog. Then watch the FC 27 highlights and you can almost see the “ideal position” indicator scurrying about. While tactically that ideal position drifts, it’s more of a large radius of “acceptable” positions and moving 1 foot to a slightly better position does not substantially improve the outcome, so players don’t do it. If they do need to adjust their position it’s usually a walk or a slight jog. In FC 27, it’s sprint-stop. Sprint-stop.I am just watching Spurs v Aston Villa on TV. There has been 4 goals in 86 mins. This is the biggest thing for me. There's zero jeopardy for bad decisions. You realise you've turned the wrong way, change direction immediately the the player will make some physically impossible move, with perfect control and save you.Watch a real match and look for player’s “micro-adjusting” and jittering like a squirrel whose had too much coffee. While this seems like an “animation thing,” it’s reflective of the ethos of the game. There’s no commitment to action. If a player is out of position, they should simply miss the ball, not teleport into position.
Problem is simply slowing the game down doesn’t fix the fundamental problem. Control and realism are at fundamental odds and FC 27 has sided with control (physics be damned). A LS press in any direction at any time resulting in the player moving that way instantly is a win for the skill-gap FUT bros, so that’s the game. This is the biggest thing for me. Issue is, I watched a couple of streamers (not football game streamers) playing and they HATED authentic, "it's so slow" etc. Unfortunately nobody wants a deliberate game where you have to play proper football, read the game, make the right decisions and let animations complete before a new one registers. Well...not enough people anyway.

No I know but fixing the issues will make for a slower game too was my point, and that ain't gonna fly.Problem is simply slowing the game down doesn’t fix the fundamental problem.
