EA SPORTS FC 26

The YouTube comments give me hope. Even though the gameplay doesn't. But I said during the beta, when playing the standard gameplay online, it was spectacularly bad even by previous standards (I don't get how playing online is fun when the lowest score I saw was truly something like 6-4). They're definitely doubling down on the instant-responsiveness skatey feel for the "competitive" crowd with the "competitive" gameplay...

...except, 99% of the players aren't "competitive" players, so why they force this horrible gameplay on everyone is honestly beyond me.
 
Again, the same old thing every year. I mean, that ball and player physics? The ball switches from one leg to another like a balloon. This isn't very good. And then hockey gameplay. It looks like players are floating with the ball.

The full manual can't change this at all.
 
One thing missing, except a proper gameplay of course is a authentic representation of how the stadiums look in real life, wheres the pyro, smoke etc?
Has Fifa/EA FC ever had that?
Get that EA chickened out when it was FIFA due to both FIFA and UEFAS clampdown (or trying to) on those thing

The "invention" of Authentic gameplay means that Competitive gameplay can finally go to the extremes that the streamers have been begging for. Zero AI, zero fouls, passes that teleport from player-to-player, 100% pass/shot accuracy, unstoppable shot power-ups, lampposts for goalkeepers, The Double-Digit Scoreline Guarantee™... The team of 11 Zlatans they've been advertising (which is so unbelievably dumb, IMO).

They know there's an audience desperate for realism (in-fact in a recent advert, "more realistic please" is one of the first lines of text you see). So as long as Authentic is separate... let Competitive be as batshit crazy as they want.

(...and maybe they'll realise, upon trying Competitive, they've been crazy to wish for what they got.)

Can't agree more. I'm still relaxed after watching parts of the stream yesterday. Why? It's competitive gameplay, the players weren't good so everything is okay. The separation between authentic and competitive gameplay is what we wished since years. Of course, we all know that it's not 100% separated but it's the start so let's see what will happen.

It won’t change until they get rid of Hypermotion and change the engine
 
Any video or live of someone playing authentic mode?
Pretty sure this is authentic gameplay as Brandon at 0:46 says “this is a bit slower, more authentic, as it has been described”.
The gameplay isn’t as different from competitive as I would want, the ball is glued to their foot at times, and passes still look way too quick and zippy for my liking, which is something online players wanted, not us..
Pass speed and shot speed sliders will be going straight down if I get this game
 
It's the same as always: everyone has a gameplay need that will never be met.

I want something for the gameplay, you want something for the gameplay, and so on. Finding a balance between gameplay and gameplay for everyone is difficult.

Starting with the shortest. Some people play 30-45 minute games! I don't want that; I don't have the time. But I also don't want the game to be boring in 10 minutes, with my players losing the ball 6 out of 10 times because they can't control it.

Those who play 30-45 minutes want it to be unrealistic, with no gaps, and with few goals. Anyway, I appreciate that the gameplay has been fragmented; this is the first year of this. I understand that it's here to stay and will improve year after year. We'll see how it goes.

Dont think thats the issue, its what the customer wants nowadays, you could have the best engine in the world, it would still be ping pong and skating because EA FC and its customers wants it.
Im 100 percent sure they could make a stunning game on frostbite , but they wont
 
The problem is that in recent years FIFA has turned into a bit of a Frankenstein, with patch after patch making everything harder to roll back. The good sign is that they’re trying with this gameplay split. But I believe that if they keep at it, we might finally have a decent game in 2 or 3 years.

For me, the biggest issue right now is the forward body lean in the men. They run without the ball, hunched forward and looking down at the ground, like when a player has the ball and needs to dribble. That running posture (that some real players have under very specific circumstances) all the time looks very unrealistic. I just can’t unsee it.

In fact, the way women run looks much more natural compared to the men.

This mainly happens at the start of every goal celebration. It’s been around for a long time and it really bothers me.

This may sound strange… But In my opinion, gameplay in FIFA looks more smoothnes with broadcast camera with a rotating angle

Experiment: limit the game to 30 FPS, and then compare how it works on different cameras. Gameplay with side camera is terrible and unplayable, game with broadcast camera is more smooth and can be playable. Camera speed of side view is twitchy.
 
I really have my doubts about humanity.

I just searched YouTube and Twitch for videos or streams of EA FC 26 with authentic gameplay.

All I found were idiots who had uploaded fake videos showing either a different Fifa/EA FC game being played or something completely different, or beta videos.

On Twitch, basically everything was full of FUT rubbish.

It just hurts. :SICK::MAD:

I consider myself to have a good understanding of the MS/FPS stability charts since they installed Frobite. Hahaha.

Yes, it's true, the game flows better in every way when the camera is zoomed out. Issues with the adapted engine, on-screen issues, LODs, etc.
 
On another note.

I don't want to shift the focus of this thread back to another FIFA/EA FC game.

But I am surprised by what a huge difference there is in some cases.

What on earth happened to the graphics after FIFA 16?

Admittedly, the first two screenshots of Fifa 16 appear to be from Fifa Infinity. Therefore, I am uncertain whether they are superior to Fifa 16 vanilla or EA FC vanilla.

But when you compare them, you can see that they weren't smooth baby faces before. Instead, the players had wrinkles and blemishes.
And beards didn't necessarily look like simple textures.

Furthermore, jerseys in Fifa 16 also had wrinkles, depending on the movement.
And you can actually see the fabric on some of the jerseys – as in the screenshot of Barca.

Not to mention the unnatural lighting in the EA FC stadiums, including the turf texture.

What did EA mess up there? Incomprehensible!

I am so disappointed in EA, it's beyond belief!


And that's not even mentioning the gameplay. According to some comments on social media, the authentic gameplay is supposed to be only slightly slower than the ‘FUT’ gameplay.

Hey EA, are you serious? In the first trailer for EA FC 26, you proudly claimed that you take your players' feedback seriously.
I guess it was just empty marketing blah blah blah again.
 
If i buy EA play (version for 6 euros) would i be able to play it 10 hours ... i dont want wait until next week for regular release

This is definitely not authentic gameplay. Players turning on a dime and laser passing.

I just picked up EA Play and downloaded 26 to my Xbox. I'll switch to New Zealand tomorrow and finally give it a whirl. If I hate it at least I won't have buyers remorse.

Correct me if I'm wrong.

The Steam shop page states that early access to the game is only possible with the Ultimate Edition. With the Standard Edition, you can only use the up to 10-hour trial with EA Play from the release date.

But I'm not 100% sure about that either.

Some sources say something different.
For example, it says that the game will be available to play tomorrow, 18 September 2025.
But according to the EA website, it won't be available until 19 September 2025. However, I can only find a German website.
