would have been nice if the national team and the leagues were there but with incorrect squads at least. That way it would have been possible to just add the correct players back manually. They should add an option to import kits natively too, so that way even on consoles there would be correct kits.
That's a thing that really annoys me about the game tbh. I mean, Lazio (Latium) had a sky blue and white kit, yet I've no idea what's in their brain for Atalanta, Inter and Milan? They can't just do a basic kit with blue and black for the first two and then red and black for Milan? Football Manager famously had a lot of missing licenses, yet still managed to do something with the kits

The revenge idea sounds very 'EA' tbh 😂 I can't remember what it was, but I seem to remember a game that even had fake sponsors on the kits (maybe a mobile or indie game I guess). There surely has to be something closer that EA are 'allowed' to produce. I mean, Konami has a fake Real Madrid, but it's still white, even if two shades of itThat looks so much better.
Either EA must have some data, that proves, that 99% of the players are around the age of 10 (because nobody older would like the design choices), or it is some kind of "revenge" to those teams for choosing Konami as their exclusive partner.
I wouldn't be surprised if when the Konami contracts expire, EA use some kind of data to say that people didn't engage with the team in game as much as when it was licensed and how that could negatively affect the club's brand, and put that in their negotiations

Yeah, "elastic" is the exact opposite of what I want personally, and a reason why I don't like FC.
That just slows down animation which makes things look even worse. Slowing down animation does not equal realism.
when you cut an animation, you lose the section of the animation that makes it smooth and life like. which introduces "jank" like animations to suit "reaction times".
But to be honest, I could live with bad Animations and still have a lot of fun. Even in PES 5, PES 6 or more recently FIFA 16 there are bad animations, even for that time. But those Games have better AI, which makes the Games feel more realistic and more fun at the same time.
Dribbling is one of the main aspects of a football video game. All the developers' words about "authentic", "realistic", "simulation", "new features" are broken down by the realization of dribbling and physics. The implementation of dribbling in FC26 exactly the same as in FIFA22 - FC25: no weight of a footballer, no inertia, unrealistic 180 degree turns in an instant, GK and CB as high-speed dribblers. In these games, player don't notice dribbling, just running, passing, and shooting. This arcade gameplay not for a 30-minute match, it's for a maximum of 5 minutes.
Actually that's the trade off you have in this games especially PES 5 & 6, that unless you super cancel, an animation cycle has to complete which gives the impression of clunkiness to some but it's a lot more realistic then players ignoring inertia for the sake of convenience.
When was the last time you played 5 & 6 out of curiosity? I'm not trying to be rude to you but to say they're far from realistic is an exaggeration. Those games, especially PES 5 captured the fundamentals of real football while balancing it with fun with the technology at the time that modern football games choose not to.
The mechanics are simplistic by today's standards of course, but it was pretty much cutting edge for its time 20 years ago & it was revered as the best football game ever made & even today, people still adore 5 & 6 & make no mistake about it, those games are just as deep as they are fun, that was the delicate balance they achieved back then.
Don't get me wrong. I totally agree with you. My point is, that some running, passing or shooting animations in those games were not really good, even for the standards at that time. But we still love those games, because overall the games feel like football and are just more fun. And one reason for that is, that the AI is more challenging/difficult. So if Fifa would fix the AI, I could live with bad animations.
Whilst PES 5/6 didn't have a lot of animation key frames and selection, they didn't cut animation either so the animation was fluid since they all completed. I think that's the part that puts me off and FIFA 17 didn't do that. They did a little bit with FIFA 18(which made it seem like they were running in the mud). And they went full gung-ho in FIFA 19.
Again it's a difficult balance to achieve because in real life, there are still high scoring games & thrashings as much as there are plenty of goalless draws and narrow 1-0 results.

It's funny that there are two sons of bitches who laughed at my post, as if their opinion was better than mine, maybe they play soccer or something like that lol, I played in the amateur categories and if I think PES 5 and 6 are technically limited, there's no reason for my opinion to be or not be better or worse than someone here on the forum lol, because I didn't say anything else, I simply think the old games are very limited and anyone who played soccer like me knows that the exaggerated freedom of the old PES has nothing real about it, I think EA FC is very lacking in animations, it seems inhuman, but saying that the old PES is the pinnacle of soccer makes me laugh lol!
