Agreed. I hate FUT but I can’t ”feel” anything against the CPU. At least make it so that you can play ”Seasons” with authentic mode.
There are actually quite a few people playing Seasons with manual settings in FC25 but manual passing is completely broken in that game.
I was FUMA on PES but agree something is off about it on FC25.
I don't actually mind the normal passing in FC25. The aiming is a bit rogue, but I do appreciate you can't easily pass out the back with 1 touches moves like is the case in most football games.
My main complaints with the game are;
- Lack of midfield pressing/positioning. Everyone besides your controlled player is extremely passive defensively leaving chasms of space to exploit.
- Lack of timing required when tackling. Your defender only needs to be within 5 yards of the attacker to win the ball. People just mindlessly spam tackle without repercussion, even if it's straight through the back of a player.
- Tackle-backs / rebounds. Related to the above, too often a striker will lose the ball but win it back instantly by tackling in a microsecond.
- Inability to effectively shield/retain possession. Essentially stems from tackling being too effective.
- Horrendous player-switching. I can't even explain why it's so bad, but takes an eternity to swap to the right defender.
- Finishing too accurate. Finesse / low driven shots are basically an instant goal.
- Lack of aerial threat from crosses.
But I do genuinely feel the rest of the mechanics are pretty decent and I've had fun this year. There's nice variations to the dribbling, passing and shooting controls that allow goals and chance creation to feel somewhat varied and creative. I like the difference in physicality and movement from the multiple body-types. The Playstyles make players feel unique. (as long as they're not overused)
I was considering giving FUMA eFootball another go, but watching some of the videos all the patterns of play look identical. One touch passes and moves into space finished with a weak shot. The skill is where you aim the stick, it's still missing too many fundamentals like dribbling / physicality to be interesting to me.
If EAFC can offer an online alternative to FUT I'd be content to stick with it. I don't even mind FUT so much, I enjoy the early months where the teams are still somewhat restrained and a new player can suddenly make a big difference. Only after January does it become daft where every team is 90+ rated superhumans.
