EA SPORTS FC 25

Why even have 11 vs 11 matches? Just release Rush as the game. I mean your ai players doesn’t do anything anyway. I go 1 v 1 as the game wants me to when I defend but then my opponent just pass the ball to a attacker who are through on goal since the other defender just don’t do anything/jog a couple of yards away from him. How is that football?

But as said before, it’s not a game for people who want to replicate some sort of real football. When I read the comments onTwitter for this patch I finally understood that football gaming is dead for people like me. I’m the minority and EA or whatever will never cater to us again. Simple as.

That is an absolutely brilliant point.

But I guess the complaint then would be that people want the game to "look like" a football match ... at which point they (FUT players) would have to accept that FC is nothing like a football match, and that they repeatedly say they don't want realism because that's boring - and then they'd be contradicting themselves.

Just to double-down on this "the game will be unplayable for us until it splits in two" point:

(Fast forward to 10:46 if it doesn't automatically)

"It felt like playing an AI sim" (before the patch) ... brother, if that's how it actually felt, I'd be the happiest guy on earth.

"To have fast, responsive, high-skill gameplay" (now) ... where's the skill when you're playing fully-assisted rocketball and when defenders run away from you? How are these players so deluded?

It's a twitch-shooter in football clothing - and the REAL killer for me is, I SERIOUSLY doubt that's what the majority want - this fast, "fun" on-rails high-scoring mega-boring experience that bears no relation to the thing it's supposed to be. Just a dumbed-down super-fast mobile game.

But, let's be honest here, the kids want it - the kids who give EA the vast majority of their earnings - and the kids watch these YouTubers, and the YouTubers tell them what to want. So it's a vicious cycle.

It will never be a football game again, and it's time to face it I think.

They are "Wannabe" skillful players.. the game is totally unbalanced and doesn't require much skill at scoring.
Anyways... why don't they switch to games like Tekken if they want show their skill? Tekken require real skill or your ass will be kicked badly.

These Fc/fifa wannabe pro are like Cod pro players..they are pro at a game with shallows mechanincs.

I played with the new patch last weekend. And yes, it's totally messed up.
I hate this crap so much as I had a really good time with my career in sim mode before. Lots of low scoring games, hardly any with more than 3 or 4 goals. And now almost every second ball possession ends in a goal again. Not even half a year and this game is nowhere near what I paid money for.

Once again, fuck you very much EA.

Thankfully you can still enjoy a few 0-0 on Pes 21 (modded)

I had a few games yesterday with the TU1 after using the this new rollback tool.
It's incredible how they have turned a game with simulation hints here and there into an arcade pinball fest update after update.

To be fair, despite its flaws, EA FC 25 in TU1 was a great football game.

There's a theme here. I've played a couple of betas that have been so good - FC24's first beta I was absolutely in love with, believe it or not - and from literally the first update, it got exponentially worse. Further and further from a team game, from what the human body is capable of, from planet Earth's physics.

But never have I seen it get to this point - where they've completely collapsed and gone "okay YouTubers, you want braindead defenders, maximum assistance, 100mph liquid-fluid-football, here you go", and said as much in black-and-white. AND wrecked the "sim mode" too.

They will never go back to AI players having brains and not just being a pitch-wide rod of traffic cones bolted together. They will never go back to calculated physics (like in 16) which allow the ball to deflect where it would actually go, as opposed to direct to a player for "fun".

As others have pointed out - you can let yourself think FC (at release) wasn't "too bad" pretty easily when it looks so good, but as soon as you see/feel the gameplay of e.g. 16, there's an instant realisation that in FC, the AI is never really "trying" and that every single kick / ball movement is "faked" to "keep the fun flowing". Video courtesy of @JochemLFC:

FIFA 10 to 19 were the last games of the "let's make the best football game we can with the technology we have" era.
FIFA 20 to, presumably, FC 29, are the games of the "pick-up-and-play score-10-goals no-grind no-effort no-scope 360 funnnnz" era.

I really liked the first comment from a German-speaking streamer who praised the patch to the skies: Youtubevideo in German -> DieHahn Der NEUSTE Patch hat FC25 GERETTET

First comment under the video :

What are you talking about? Best patch? Almost every attack is a goal. On both sides. Suddenly games go 8:7, 5:5, 9:4. That's real handball or ice hockey. WORST PATCH of all time. Increased speed is not good for the game. It has nothing to do with football.

My Comment:

They think that if they have to control all 11 players 100% manually all the time they are good in defence in the game and then play ice hockey results. I think the balance between manual defending (after all we can't control all 11 players at the same time) and CPU which also has artificial positioning and two players have to find the gap is more fun than 10 goals a game.

Yeah, these comments are the only glimmers of hope.

I've just been pushed this TikTok video from the official "pro" FC account:

Even on TikTok (!!), there are comments like:

"You sell the game by saying AI AI AI will make game better now you saying Ai have been removed games is better lol. It should be balanced now is only attacking. Not fun scoring 10 goals every game."

"Removing AI Defending is the worst thing they’ve ever done for casual players, I work so I don’t have time to learn how to be Rio Ferdinand, they should be separate modes for gimps who sweat the game."

"🏀 They just turned down Ai defending it’s just as bad but score line is like basketball score even for pros there is no skill so no skill issue, people just can’t defend. 4-5, 7-4 & 4-6 Pro 💀"

So we're not just stuck in the past here - and I'm sick of playing the old games.

Strangely I played EA's latest NHL game over Xmas and the shooting specifically was MUCH harder than anything on EA Sports FC. There was also some good 'midfield battles' (I know it's not called that in hockey but you get my point), probably was more akin to a footy simulation than EAFC weirdly

I have the first Version of the Trial Version of the Game on my drive, and I just played it out of curiousity last week. It is the only Version which I can play the default Gameplay without the feel to have a Gameplay Mod installed for some good. Feels more grounded, not so hectic and overpowered. I am not lying but the AI crosses 2 times in a single 2x6 Min. Match into my box instead of dribbling into my box from the wings.
I´ll do now the default Gameplay Test for TU 8. But not without the safety to have TU7 stored on my drive as well.
I made myself download the Rollback Tool. First off...what a tool. Really incredible. For those who haven't tried it, give it a go.

Second, I played Vanilla Gameplay. Completely different game and actually enjoyable. All the things @Byronic mentions.

I am incredibly sick, but I'll need to give this update a go to see what everyone is on about. As I may be without my PS5 for a few months (trying to travel as light as possible)

What make me mad about this brainwashed "pro" is their definition of what require skill and what doesn't. The fact that you (pro) are better at defending in a absurd unbalanced football game, which has totally offensive bias, doesn't make you skillful. You just learn to live with the bad the game has and exploit It.

A good and balanced football game should reward vision, tacticism, the ability to passing and shooting respecting player's body balance, do the right thing at right moment AND dribbling too.
It's not only about score the more you can, because scoring should be hard, but create occasions and even play defensive if the match need.

EA fifa/FC reward only dribbling and braindead passing.
I am disgusted

Match done - Sim mode, mostly manual except ground pass (semi). World Class level

(Me) Napoli 1-2 Como. Como's two goals were in the first ten mins, keeper saved and it rebounded to one of their players. Napoli with 10 shots to Como's 23.

Personally, the update isn't as bad for me as to others. Maybe just the way I play the game or certain settings.

Guys, if I can offer some information... I've extensively gone through the changes made by EA in the latest #TU and I can clearly see the changes.

Defensively, a lot of space has been opened up. Simulation mode is NOT impacted by those particular positioning changes for the sake of reference. This is the first time I've seen a proper reference to simulation mode within the files, and essentially they have just KEPT some of the previous values that have been changed for #TU8 regarding the spacing.

The effectiveness of tackles and interceptions have also been reduced.

When these changes COMBINE with the fact the speed and accuracy of passing and shooting has been also been INCREASED in this update, you have your reasons as to why you're seeing a lot of what you're seeing.

Of course throw in the attacking changes (which are actually welcomed) and you have a recipe for disaster in terms of 'realism' from the default game.

From a modded perspective, I saw some suggesting that this ends any possible positivity around FC25, as we might essentially have to start all over again because of the changes, but based on the changes in this particular update, the damage is actually nowhere near as bad as I first feared. Many of the changes are overridden by the mod and I'm able to monitor and correct the ones that aren't - so it's not quite the same thing as sliders, where all of your reference points suddenly change.

It's not that we're not impacted at all, but it's not on the level that is being projected. This is just to let those who are freaking out that #TU8 signifies the very end of any possible football gaming for FC25 - that it isn't at all! We're actually in good shape post #TU8 and I'm working a lot on building on this further. I know some will just assume I'm trying to sell them something, but I'm actually not, I'm just providing a little bit of insight into what's actually been changed/where we're at, instead of playing the guessing game.

I also don't say any of this to endorse the changes EA have made, I'm just providing a perspective for those who are completely writing the game off as of #TU8.

For the sake of clarity, I'm not speaking ideologically about how the game should or shouldn't be, I'm specifically just speaking about where we are CURRENTLY AT, from both the default gameplay perspective and from a PC modded one.
