EA SPORTS FC 25

At Christmas day I had a 2vs2 on couch with cousins, using sim sliders. We had fun, even if It was not fun as old PS2 Pes days, the game is not bad at all and it is way better than later Pes on Fox engine like 2021.
We tryed even on default sliders and the game was shit. My advice is to give up with custom sliders and stay with sim. It's not perfect, but it's decent and a.i positioning is better

is there some crossing tutorial?
Crossing is really bad when you dont have a player with the "Style"
Power Crosses are always too low also early crosses are they able to do?
I remember playing PES where i can hold another button to do an early cross but FC25 has always crosses that are not "strong" enough they are sometimes too high...

Played some clubs with my eldest on Saturday night.

Lasted 4 games.

It really is a shambles. The AI don't do anything.

At one point, the other team had the ball on the wing. The whole of our midfield got to about half way between our penalty area and the halfway line and stopped. They literally stood there.

The defenders don't do much either, seems to be you can try and make one engage but the others just hold position and stop moving. No covering, no stepping out to try and press, literally just stand in position and do nothing.

Usually on clubs we have a few laughs but I was bored as hell. You could just predict what would happen for every goal.

Tried Rush after which was alright for about 5 mins until you just get paired with 2 other players who don't pass the ball ever.

I've been playing FIFA 14, 16 & 19 & PES 17 recently and the difference in a representation of football between them and this is remarkable.

The 1v1 thing, they for some unfathomable reason have implemented, has destroyed the whole core of the game. I just don't see how when it's so obvious this is happening in gameplay anyone can harbour enjoyment in playing this. It's like each part of the pitch has invisible zones and if a player goes near the edge of theirs, they just stop.

I'll stick to my 'retro' stuff.

I agree with this mentioned. I replayed FIFA 17 and especially FIFA 18 a lot the last weeks. The base of those older Games are just a huge difference to the newer FC Games. It´s always when replaying these Games like "Hmm, how could they get so far away from AI logical or more enjoyable behaviour?" Of course especially in FIFA 18 there are starting with those ugly ice skating animations from the Players on the Pitch, but I can handle that with myself, because the things I see without a gameplay mod are remarkable. The AI crosses in close to every situation they are on the wings instead of dribbling which leads to closed space before a cross.

So I saw header goals from the AI which is close to impossible in default FC 25. The 1v1 is so much more enjoyable to see in FIFA 18, hard to realize the Games are only 7 years apart from another, but same engine. With the Modding tools from the present I am sure Games like FIFA 17, 18, 19 could made even more enjoyable related to their issues and fails like the ice skating Animations.
It´s always very nice to come back to those elders.

I agree that the amount of things in Career Mode are a bit too much. I mean, I guess it can be fun due to all the details, and it might just be a question of getting used to it, but coming from earlier FIFAs and PES, it does seem like a bit too much micromanaging..

Football Manager is a completely different case, as the entire game is based on these types of micromanagement decisions (that's the whole point of FM).. But for a FIFA/FC game, where you play the games, I wish there was an option to streamline the training a bit more.
You can adjust that stuff before starting a career mode save, especially the training settings.

Crossing is awful in general this year. They need to fix it in an update.

Probably a stupid question but i'm not super familiar with modding the Fifa/EAFC series as i was mostly a PES guy until that series pretty much died.
Can i leave the game online while using mods as long as i don't touch stuff like FUT? I only play single player modes (mostly manager career) but i like being online because of the live updates. The only mod i'm using is "Danielz FC 25 Realism Serie A License Mod", which doesn't touch gameplay and only adds the few missing licenses to Serie A.

It depends on the mods you're using. If you're using FIFER Mod, there's an add-on that allows you to play online with the EA database but still keeps the kits, faces & boots. Gameplay mods won't work online and will force your game to crash or could even risk you getting banned online.

If you're playing offline modes, the online live updates for the roster will screw up your mod's database so it's recommended to play in offline mode in the EA app.

Thank you for the reply.
I'm not interested in playing online modes, i just want to play single player while being connected to the server (for the live updates). The only mod i'm using is "Danielz FC 25 Realism Serie A License Mod" which is just a visual mod that replaces the generic kits/team names/banners/etc of the few non-licensed Serie A teams (Atalanta, Inter, Milan, Lazio). The mod doesn't change the rosters of said teams because they are already correct in the base game.
I'm at any risk of getting banned for this?

Why you wanna be stay connected to the EA Servers while you playing a modded Game, Mate?? Didn´t get it. What Marlon already tried to explain to you is, that being online and a new TU comes along by EA, than it screws up your modded Game. When you let the live update updates your Game nor Danielz mod work anymore, nor your current Squad File. It´s because of that case to play everytime offline set in EA App. Don´t worry, when EA comes over with a new TU you will see that immediatly in EA APP. Than you can decide to stay on the previous update to be able to play with your latest mods. Or you update but must wait till every of your mods are updated by the Modders for working on the new Update.
To keep the previous TU always turn off Auto Updates in EA APP settings section. You have no benefit to stay online while playing with Mod Manager or FMT Tool.
The risk for a ban is always possible when playing modded Game while connected to EA Servers.

Any tips to improve power on long range shooting please? I play using precision shooting but I'm still not getting powerful rockets lol.

I feel sick, honestly.

I feel totally duped by "sim mode", to have been made to feel like maybe there's hope after all - and now, this.

"A renewed emphasis on fluid offensive gameplay."

HOW COULD IT POSSIBLY BE MORE FLUID? Liquid players? The pitch becoming a conveyor belt?

It's already so responsive you perform physically impossible limb-snapping moves on a second-to-second basis.

It's already so fast and lightweight that it feels like you're controlling 11 ghosts across an air-hockey table.

The ball already moves between players like it's been fired out of a cannon, with no need for the player to trap it.

"More offensively fluid gameplay enabling you to move the ball easier." "Pass speed has been increased." "It's now harder for defenders to catch strikers." Honestly, I'm crestfallen.

EDIT: The most gut-wrenching part for me personally is seeing yet more forced, fake physics (see these before / after videos) - where the ball would have "naturally" been deflected by the attacking player before, now it's forced to be the defender's ball, so that the player feels "rewarded". How? When it's so obviously fake, and so obviously the coding equivalent of sticking a dummy/pacifier in your mouth?

People scream about "scripting", yet this actual scripting is fine? Of course it is, for one reason - and it's written in plain English... "Unneccessary frustration", i.e. to placate those who shout "it's not fair". But that's not how physics works. ARGH. GAMES ARE SUPPOSED TO BE GETTING MORE ADVANCED. NOT LESS.

There's also a line that says "rather than relying on AI positioning" (not even "AI defending")... It's not a 1v1 game. Defenders have to position themselves, for God's sake - THAT'S FOOTBALL. DUMBING-DOWN, ALL THE TIME.

When will football fans get a football game again? Come on guys, someone on here must know a millionaire? There's a huge gap in the market here...

... that would've been filled by PES, which was always seen as more sim than Fifa, as I believe it. Yet, sales for both would suggest only a minority wants such a game.

It's like racing games, for those of us who love motor racing. We'd love a game with all the licensed series like the old Toca Race Driver 3, with the damage model of perhaps Wreckfest or BeamNG, and the realism of an iRacing or ACC. But how well would such a realistic game sell compared to a Gran Turismo or Forza? Gaming today is all about money it seems, outside of the indie space. And if the gap isn't big enough, nobody is interested in filling it.

(And indie developers don't have the same resources to make such a detailed game. It's possible, but very unlikely)

Trust me, in racing community that would sell Hella good. Obviously not as good as GT or FH, bit still Hella good. Big sim community out there. Also, even FH, that is quite arcade, has a very realistic handling, and specially for an arcade. It even has a sim handling option, which makes it way more realistic.

Meanwhile, in football games, we're not even close to Forza Horizon level of realism. Maybe to NFS one with eFootball. FIFA is basically burnout. Is the most arcade thing you might imagine.

There's a serious gap there in the market, and I'd say that Devs have forgot about us old players, cause we will buy anything, and Serj for the money of newer players. And each year is worse.

Whats worse about this is all the marketing stuff pes done about how great their new game was gunna be. A brand new game from scratch all singing all dancing. Now we can play a few friendlies with mobile graphics half a decade later.

Couldn’t agree more. I play online seasons and it’s already an end to end goal fest. I can’t imagine how it will be now that you don’t have to think at all when you pass the ball. I mean it’s not like it’s been hard now. Most people already just pass 2-3 times from the back to a winger or forward that tries to 1) move like an oily snake and dribble through your defence or 2) make a through ball to the same attacker who then are through on goal.

No one cross into the box, no one shoots from outside the box, no one makes an early cross into the box. You know, basic things in football. Horrible.

Two matches with the last patch

Olympique Marseille Vs OGC Nice patch Frost Part 2 Sliders V6 FUMA Legend

Manchester United Vs Newcastle patch Frost Part 2 Sliders V6 FUMA Legend

As always, the doomsday predictions turned out to be wildly exaggerated. The game still plays roughly the same as before the patch.

Any tips to improve power on long range shooting please? I play using precision shooting but I'm still not getting powerful rockets lol.
Have you tried L1 + R1 + Shoot?

Whatever the severity of the changes, they are all in the direction of making the game easier to score, to placate the loudest, least-interested-in-football userbase. You may be fine with that, I know a lot of people who aren't (see above).

Basically the Ultimate Team players have been complaining since launch that the game was to slow, defending was overpowered and they could no longer just run the length of the pitch with a fast player like Vini Jr. I was quite impressed that EA had resist changing the game for 3 months but with this path all of that has gone out of the window and now the Ultimate Team players are happy which means £'s, this all time to hit with the Team of the Year promo which is their biggest cash cow promo. Sadly all very predictable.

Personally, I'm very, very unhappy with it.

Again the FC 24 style of gameplay. The game can be saved only by mods right now, and with so much variety and progression in PES in the last year, I am starting to loose interest in EA FC forever. Probably won't buy next iteration. Same shit as always.

In all of EA’s many questionable updates throughout history…this just might be the worst. Ever. Period. No joke.

And I’m wanting to find some hope. But there are no set of sliders or mods that can fix this broken game even before this update. Let alone now.
