Re: Chelsea FC thread
First let me say - great match to watch.
I'll get right to the point - Chelsea are extremely lucky to be in the QF, Carvalho clearly pulls Valdes back preventing him from even attempting to save Terry's header. Don't come out with "he wouldn't have gotten to it anyway", a) because there's every chance he would have and b) because it simply doesn't matter - it was a clear foul.
Barcelona's penalty was a STONEWALL penalty. You cannot jump with you hands in that way. Clive Tyldsley is an arsepiece, "it was ball to hand". Aye Clive, that means someone can stand in a jumping-jack position and as long as someone boots the ball off their hands it's ball to hand. The rule is your hands have to be in a natural position, i.e. by your sides - not raised fucking vertical above your head!
Ronaldinho's goal was absolute genius, and I agree with the poster who said Barcelona were the better side. Chelsea started on fire but Barcelona then passed them off the park, and second-half they were equal.
As for diving - Joe Cole dived moments into the 2nd half, Collina indicated this yet didn't book him. Joe Cole dived numerous times tonight, so you can get off any high horse you're about to climb onto regarding that situation.
