I'm just happy to be where we are in Europe. It certainly surpassed my expectations.

Oh, and Melchiot is a "numpty" :l Crespo's 2nd goal however was pure class! What a finish :shock: Bit too much tinkering though Claudio =;

I hope Chelsea can play better than this season in the next season. Dont get me wrong, i think all the boys are good, but i just think they can be much better than now.

And if Crespo and Mutu ccan play as well as when they're playing in Italy, then we dont need to afraid any team in England or in the world.

What a news on today's Sun: Ronaldinho to Chelsea, in order to slip into Zola's boots!!!

You know what...Chelsea don't need Ronaldinho...
Were would you play him in the team???? As a forward maybe....but Mutu, Gudjohnsson, Crespo, Hasselbaink are having a good season (well maybe Crespo not, but give him another year and he will deliver...). With the money they would spend on Ronaldinho, they could buy several other more usefull players (who are maybe inferior to Ronaldinho, but who could fill in gaps...).

If this ends up happenin, i would be the happiest man alive, ronaldinho is the most exciting player to watch IMO, and it would be worth payin the 40 quid a week just to see him. It wont happen tho, why would he want to come from the most skillfull league to the most dull in terms of skill? Oh sorry, except jay jay okocha?

Not sayin the premiership is bad, it is excellent, but i prefer the spanish league. But those two can not be matched.

With the exception of Real, Barca and a bit Valencia, the spanish league is boring and it isn't skilfuls as you said...
I live in italy and i think that the best of the three major european leagues (spain, england and italy) is the PL, cos it has the higher rate of stars...

well if we win the champs league we are OFFICIALLY the best team in europe, everyone has their own opinions, but we would be the best. Sorry but thats the truth, and yes we will win it (i hope!! lol)

Mmmm but essentially the Champs League is now a knockout cup. Just because you win the Champs League doesn't make you the best team in Europe.

So what you are saying then is that if you win the CL but don't win your domestic league then you are still the best team in Europe??

It takes 13 games to win the Cl yet 38 games to win the PL. You can't tell me that the team that finishes above you in the league over 38 games is worse than you??

Granted it would be a great acheivement to win the CL, but to say you are the best team in Europe after 1 CL win is going a bit far.

If you won it 2/3 times in a row and won the PL then that would be a different story.

PS> I think the best team in Europe is Milan, but are they gonna win the CL? Nope.

As i said, opinions. You have won the PL, but did we beat you over TWO legs in the champs league? So i think this champs league is a way to choose the best in europe and thats whats its doind IMO. We beat you end of. Yes you are the best but to be the best in europe you have to beat the best, and all four of the final four have donw that.

Yes it does, the puprose of the Champions League is to find the best team in Europe. Im not saying we will win, but whoever does, is the best team in Europe.

Then what do Chelsea do whith Veron and Lampard?
Little Teether will probably stay at Barca, and Ruud will hopefully stay at Man U.

This is all getting a bit silly as everyone has their respective club hat on. take a step back. Relax, like the Grolsch man says.
Arsenal, this season, are without doubt the best team in England. 32 games unbeaten is a very good achievement, and has to be commended. So it takes less games to win the CL, but the opposition is tougher than the "week in week out" Premiership opponents (with the exception of the top few).
No matter what people say, i'm adamant Wenger wanted the CL trophy the most. It is the Holy Grail of Europe. Arsenal have won the league in recent years, but have always failed in the early stages of the CL. I think any of the last 4 teams, whoever may win, can call themselves the best team in Europe this season. Why the hell not? They've all had huge matches, and/or overcome minor miracles to get where they are. That shows resilience imo and the best teams won over 2 legs. Yes, AC Milan are a great side, but they lost a 3 goal advantage!! Same with Real Madrid, we always think of their attacking prowess, but come on, we all know they can't defend for shit. All their eggs are in one basket. Even little Osasuna ripped them apart this weekend. This is exactly why i think it's a good thing that the last 4 are made up of who they are.

gerd, you're right, we don't need Ronaldinho. But if Abramovich wants him, he'll try to get him. If a player like that arrives, it opens doors for other players to leave. Already there is talk of Veron going to Inter. If a striker comes in, one will leave, as teams will bid for the likely movers (JFH, Crespo, Forssell). I see a bit of a sale this summer at Chelsea. Let's not forget Zenden and Robben are incoming after the summer too.

IMHO I don't agree with you. Its like saying the winners of the FA Cup are the best team in England. It doesn't add up.

Until they have a European Super League it will be very difficult to say that "We are the best team in Europe cos we won the CL". The winners of the Euro Super League would be able to say it because it would have been over the course of a season, not 13 just games.

Well, if your club cannot perform when it matters. Eg. Arsenal v Chelsea, then simply they are not good enough. So, Brazil is not the best team in the world unless they play a World League? Fuck That. The point of the champions league is to find the best team in Europe. And right now, Chelsea are 1/4 of the best teams. Face it, I know its hard just because your club is not one of the best four clubs in Europe. Its not Chelsea, Depor, and Monaco's fault that their opponents could not perform well enough in the important games. Who gives a fuck about performing week in and week out in the league, you must perform when it matters. So, technically, WHOEVER WINS THE FRICKIN CHAMPIONS LEAGUE IS THE BEST TEAM IN EUROPE. Following that, WHOEVER WINS THE BOCA ;) v CHAMPIONS LEAGUE WINNERS, IS THE BEST TEAM IN THE WORLD. Just like who wins EURO is the best international team in Europe.

he said whoever wins will be the best TAM in Europe anyway

There are reports coming from England that Roman Abramovich, the filthy rich owner of Chelsea, will try to capture one of his all-time favorite players, namely Alessandro Del Piero. Abramovich is a huge fan of Del Piero and he is not convinced that Mutu is the right replacement for Gianfranco Zola. It is rumored that Abramovich will offer Adrian Mutu and about 30 million Euros for Del Piero, who has in the past said he wants to play in England. It is also known that Moggi would like the services of Claude Makelele, who is a cheaper version of Patrick Viera. Also, Mutu was a target for Juve last season, but Chelsea won him instead.

Which I can accept, we aren't good enough but thats another story. I have already said Milan are the best in Europe. Not Arsenal.

Chelsea are not the best team in Europe, anyone who believes they are needs to see their doctor.

I never said, that, i said ONE OF THE BEST FOUR IN EUROPE. Milan are the best? So good yeh, getting thrashed 4-0 to a spanish team WHEN IT MATTERS.

Until the CL is exclusively for the Champions of each country again then it is not a true reflection of the best team in Europe. FACT.

You finished 4th in the PL last season, yet you think you will be the best team in Europe if you win the CL! :) :) :) GET REAL MATE.
