Cole might be leaving. He alraedy was linked to Charlton when we got Scotty. Really depends on the situation. He hasnt scoed a goal this season. And we have too many midfielders, hes quite useless really.

Frank, Seba, Joe, Scotty, Geremi, Jesper, Damien, Makelele, Stanic, Petit, any one I forgot?

Maybe if he had a run of a couple of 90 minute games he may start to perform. Can you blame him for poor morale, he hasn't played 90 mins yet!

Oh, I couldn't believe my ears when I heard the news. Potentially, a tremendous signing for Chelsea. No doubt Kenyon was involved in snatching away Robben after the heavy specualtion he'd move to United.

I suppose the reason for his move is to provide much more natural cover for Duff - and Robben is more than adequate. Duff's already been in sensational form this season - well worth his transfer fee so it'll be interesting to see his on-pitch reaction to this. Again, a potentially superb signing.

On a lighter note, looks like Roman has arranged a friendly with Loko to be played in Russia. I'd much rather see them knock the Blues out of the CL first, mind. ;)

I have no doubt little Joe will sit down and talk about his future, and if he's not reassured he'll want to go. Personally, i'd rather see Veron go, and keep Cole. I think it's for the better in the long run. I much prefer Cole to Veron, and i think it would be a big shame to see him go. I could see him going to somewhere like Charlton or Bolton (a JJ replacement). ;)

Ken Bates has stepped down as Chelsea chairman after being sidelined following Roman Abramovich's £140m takeover of the club.
The outspoken 72-year-old announced an end to his 22 years at the club in a speech to staff and supporters.

"Ken Bates is no longer chairman of Chelsea Football Club as of 10.30pm," read a statement from his office.

Bates' position at Stamford Bridge has been undermined since he sold out to Abramovich last summer.

He was replaced by American lawyer Bruce Buck as chairman of the Chelsea Village parent company last month.

His notorious column in the club's matchday programme was then unceremoniously axed and he was not even on the official club flight out to Stuttgart for last week's Champions League tie.

Yep, I read that abotu 2 hours ago. He was a great chairman, hop e he has a great life.

He is a crook...
Somewhere in this thread i mention a book about malversations in ENglish football, and there are a couple of chapters about the crooked acts of Bates (i think it is called "Broken Dreams").
You should read it and then you will (hopefully) change your opinion about Bates...

a UEFA Super Cup, European Cup Winners Cup, two FA Cups, a League Cup and a Charity Shield.

But where's the big 2 trophies. You've probably spent more than 150 million more than us in the last 10 years but we have 2 (nearly 3) premierships, 4 FA cups, a league cup, a cup winners cup and some charity shields.

All the monney and players dont mean u shuld winn nefing! Ur previous team was good u only needed to add a few players not but 2 new teams

Wot is 4 xample Robben gonna give you dat Duff doesnt alredy? xcept cover(n no i aint bitter nemore)

Please dont diss Chelsea in here.

Anyway, you have a much better manager. That was always the difference between us.

I read in a Belgian paper that there was a rumour in an English paper that Chelsea would buy Kompany for 22 million euro (15 million pound)...
The Anderlecht manager stated that normally Kompany will stay with ANderlecht, but added that for that amount of money every player is free to go...
Kompany's manager said that he will stay with Anderlecht...

I know there are dozens of rumours involving Chelsea and talented players, but since there will hardly be other Belgian players linked to top clubs like Chelsea i mentioned it...

Duff has described the Robben signing as a 'kick in the teeth' just as he was on his road to recovery. The story also talks about Joe Cole wanting to stay at the Bridge.

Ad I said earlier, the signing of Robben probably gives more competition for the left side and could have a postitive effect for Chelsea - with both players upping their game for a spot. Duff could always play on the right too, yes? Then again, maybe Robben isn't in Ranieri and Roman's plans for the immediate future or they might be preapring for a summer player exodus.

ive heard he is an amazing player....ive only seen 1 WHOLE clip of him and he was just making this striker look bad by dribbling the ball around him..never seen him defend...ive only heard he's a big prospect

He's good...
I don't know if he will be really a star player, but i heard that Desailly and some other French players (after Belgium-France) were impressed by him...he's only 17 now...
But at that age things can go both ways: good or bad...

Robben is 20. But im sure he will be great. And as for kompany, our defence is strong enough. And cannavaro said he wants to come to the prem :D. SO who konws?

I guess you're rigth that your defense is strong enough...on the other hand Kompany is the type of player Chelsea should buy. Young, talented and the star of the day after tomorrow.
If i were Chelsea i would buy a team with plenty of very young players: Diego, Robinho, Tevez, ...that kind of players...

I love diego and d'allesandro

Anyway, we could do with a backup centre back, but the first team , as far as defence is concerned, is fine. Also, we need a backup for Johnson on the right, Melchiot is leaving!

Get this thread to the top of the page, where it should be. :)

Obviously Chelsea's chances of silverware this season are about as large as Victoria Beckhams waistline, but I still think it has been worthwile. I'm surprised how well the team has gelled in general and Mutu and Crespo in particular have proven to be well worth the money. Lets hope this Robbens bloke lives up to all the hype. If we can finish 2nd and do well in the Champions League then we have no reason to be criticised.

I would like to see a London 1,2.

That would mean that Utd have been 3rd in 2 out of the last 3 seasons!!!!!
