So what if Abram bought Chelsea to show off his money, doesnt mean he is going to let it slip down the pan, I mean its like other people who buy expensive cars just to show off their millions upon millions of pounds, doesnt mean they are just going to crash the car at the end of it because they only bought it to show off their money.

Or they just sell them, who said anything about crashing Chelsea. People with millions get bored of their toys easily. We're not saying that he will run Chelsea ino the ground before going elsewhere.

Chelsea actually never beat Arsenal in the 04/05

If we're talking about the Prem that applies to 03/04, 02/03, 01/02, 00/01, etc.
;)

mates undoubtedly Our Chelsea are one of the strongest team in England and Europe ,but what about our Chelsea youth team?do they also played well as the first choice team?thans for the inputs.

what i meant is Reserved team or something like that, not sure about the term.anyway hopefully Essien will come to Chelsea soon with a happy heart and gave all out with the team.

Let's not forget that our Captain John Terry is a product of the Chelsea youth system. The club have recently brought in a few youngsters such as Scott Sinclair and Ricardo Fernandes into the youth set up. It's definitely an area where the club is seeking to improve as far as i know.

I thought you pinched him from West Ham when he was about 15?

Like Paolo Maldini joining Milan at 16, so too did Terry at Chelsea. I think it's fair to say he developed at Chelsea.

I'd agree with that but wouldn't class it as coming through the youth system cause I imagine he went into the reserves pretty soon after joining.

He played in the youth team. But if that's your view, you're entitled to it.

It's in the same way that I wouldn't class Fabregas as coming through our youth system.

As you say it's down to each individuals point of view.

I think its fair to say Terry is a product of the youth system cuz most young player when at the age of 16 played for another smaller club from which they get picked up from.

Terry---->Definately youth team product, he has referred to himself as that many a time.

Anybody else noticed that we are apparantly lookin to sign antonio cassano.

Iv heard mixed things about him, as im not a big fan of serie a i don't really know much about him, anybody else's opinion?

I didnt see us buying anyone else except essien(looks doubtful now), but according to sky sports, ol' baldy is goin over there next week to try n thrash out an 8.5 million deal!

Arsene Wenger has questioned the true value of Jose Mourinho's Chelsea squad, ahead of their Community Shield encounter on Sunday.

Mourinho has splashed out £21 million on Shaun Wright-Phillips and £8 million on Asier Del Horno this summer, whilst Arsenal have missed out on top target Julio Baptista at the same time as losing influential skipper Patrick Vieira.

However, Gunners chief Wenger is refusing to get carried away by Chelsea's dominance in the transfer market, believing that their spending power is exaggerating the actual worth of their incoming players.

"It is not Chelsea's fault or my fault, it is just like it is," explained Wenger.

"But everyone knows that they have plenty of money and, when they come in, they will buy for £20 million what [otherwise] costs £10 million.

"Do you really think Wright-Phillips would have cost £21 million had Chelsea not come in for him? Frankly, we have to be honest. What would be his price?

"There are two markets, one when Chelsea is in, which is quite lively and high, and one when Chelsea is not in, which is morose - all over Europe."

The intelligent Frenchman is relying on his well-groomed youth system to counter Roman Abramovich's millions, and Wenger is in no doubt that Arsenal can reclaim The Premiership trophy this season.

"I am not envious of Chelsea. There is a way to be successful and beat Chelsea despite the fact that they have more money than anybody else.

"There are enough good players in the world that you can always get good players. Real Madrid have spent more than Valencia, but they haven't won any trophies for two years."

Certain sections of the Highbury faithful are harbouring fears that The Gunners need to fill the void left by Vieira's departure to Juventus, but Wenger insists that he cannot currently improve on the players at his disposal.

"I just know about my situation. I have worked very hard on the youth policy and I must find a player who is better than Cesc Fabregas, Mathieu Flamini and Gilberto Silva to replace Patrick.

"At the moment, I have not found one. I don't want to buy a player for the sake of buying a player."

The Arsenal chief is expected to add to his goalkeeping options in the near future, with Sebastian Viera set to join 'as long as the medical and financial reasons are sorted out'.

However, rumours of a move for England international Michael Owen have been quashed by Wenger, who explained that his lack of interest is borne out of a consideration for Owen's future.

"I have nothing against Michael Owen - I love him - but you cannot force me to buy him if I don't need him.

"We have Thierry Henry who scores 25 goals a season and can they live together? I don't know.

"I like Owen but I am looking for more for a deeper kind of striker as Dennis Bergkamp is getting older, while Thierry is not yet at the age to play deeper.

"It would be dishonest to take an international player like Michael Owen and put him into the same situation that he has at Real Madrid."

What a load of crap..

What part of that was a load of crap? As much as I hate Wenger and Arsenal, he's 100% correct.

I wouldn't agree with him 100%, but alot of what he says is true.
I like the way he is thinkin about michael owen as a person, unlike madrid, who have treated him like shit. it was pretty obvious they didnt want to buy him last year, he was just to ensure that they bought a 'galactico' every year.

I like madrid, and enjoy watching them play, but in my opinion they are worse than chelsea, madrid do buy players for their status and reputation, not because they need to strengthen the squad.

Of course it depends on how you look at it cuz you're looking at it like a biased Chelsea fan.
I'm unbiased cuz I hate Arsenal and Wenger just like most Man Utd fans do.

What part dont you agree with, Sulph?

He is right, but the more he talks about chelski's money the more he seems jealous about it.

He never talks about the players, the squad, he only talks about the money that was used to buy the players.
