Yeah course Rune, but not many players are persudaed to stay that easily by the likse of Parry.

All I'm saying is that dont always believe what you hear. If Gerrard can decide to leave all of a sudden, he change his mind just as easily.

Crespo officially back at Chelsea. Feel bad for him, but I hope he finds his form at Chelsea because at 1 point of his career he was capable of getting the Ballon D'Or. I still hate him though:D.

How can you still hate him?

If it wasnt for him, you guys would have lost 3-1 in the CL final.

Chelsea is already stacked in Midfield, maybe wait until the winter transfer if there is a big injury list, than go for a midfielder.

SWP doesnt make sense to sign him. I guess an extra weapon wouldnt hurt.

Crespo-Drogba should be a deadly combo in the air.

It will all depend on the players available.
With Robben and Duff fully fit, I bet on a 4-3-3.
But with one of them out, I go for a 442.
But it will depend also if mourinho wants a more attacking team or not.
he could:

----------cech-----------
----Carvalho----Terry----
Ferreira-----------Bridge
-------------------------
---------Makelele--------
-Duff-------------Robben-
----------Lampard--------
-------------------------
-----Crespo--Drogba------

the 433 would simply mean adding tiago and removing one of the strikers.

You dont have to come here and taunt them. You still might eat your words.

I don't doubt that. Stevie G does it most seasons. Wait till we lose a few in a row....it will all start again, particularly if he doesn't play well in a game against Chelsea.:(

I think Crespo returning to Chelsea is a good thing. He will challenge Drogba. I also think Mourinho will get the best out of him. If he finds form, beware.

Crespo is a very good player who didn't really do himself justice last time he played for Chelsea. Either he will be hungry to prove himself or hungry for a move back to Italy which, he seems to think, he's more suited to.

If he doens't suffer injuries, mourinho will get the best out of him, and Drogba will have real competetion.
Now can't wait to findout who is the midfielder.
My bet is SWP!

Its useless signing SWP. What we really need is someone to fill that 3rd spot in the midfield other than Tiago, which should be Essien. Since Duff and Robbo have to rotate within the left and right positions on the wings, as both are left sided, SWP could fit in on the right, forcing Duff on the bench, which I do not want to see. SWP will only be useful if one of them (Duff and Robbo) are out for a long period of time, which happened last season, but then JC stepped up. JC however is a possibility for that third place next to Lamps and Maka. Which means SWP could be waiting in the wings for the replacement of Duff and Robbo if one of them gets injured/tired. Crespo returning, is fantastic.

It's up to mourinho now.

Chelsea have finally cooled down on transfers, after two years of crazy spending. Something that I expected, unless we some surprise transfer.

I don't think the Gilardino deal is dead, simply because Milan considers the price for him too expensive, and the although the player himself said that he wants Milan, he also said he wouldn't discard a move to a foreign club.
I read that Milan made a bid of 27M€ but Parma wanted more. Chelsea can pay more.

And Frank Arnesen ended up joining.

Crespo will do well this time around cuz, he will have better service.
I expect him to score against Wigan on aug 14. 6-0 scoreline.

I agree with chelsea_fan.

I really like crespo, and his goal against arsenal was one of the all time great goals of the premiership and i dont think it gets the credit it deserves. If henry had scored it, it would have been the best goal ever.

I think also, with crespo back, it will force drogba to get his shooting boots on, cos its between them two in my opinion. Gudjohnsen will always be back up i feel.

I just hope crespo gets the proper chance a player of his calibre deserves, and isnt another forsell or kezman.

Basically what I was gonna say. SWP cant go to Chelsea cuz they already have too many players for his position. If SWP joined, 2 players out of Robben, Duff, Joe Cole and SWP would be on the bench.

See I just find that really harsh cuz its not like SWP is that much better than Joe Cole yet you're willing to kick out Cole for SWP?

This is what I was saying about how no body is safe at Chelsea and how you have to be THE best to keep your place.
If Man Utd or Arsenal had done the same thing, about 6 or 7 of the their best XI would have gone by now when really theres no need.

Its just unsettling, uncomfortable and gonna make joining you club look like career suicide like I said a few pages back.

That's normally how competitive sports work. If you're not on your game, why should you be picked before another who is.

You dont understand. If you play for a club, you have to be the best at the CLUB to have a place in the team. But at Chelsea, its almost like you have to be the best in the WORLD to play for them. I mean, Chelsea's current team is a Premiership winning team. Realisitcally, you'd only want a new striker but thats not the case here. They want to continue to buy better players and are probably willing to get rid of the likes of Cole, Duff, Drogba, etc who dont deserve this.
And then what do they do with these players? They dont sell them cuz they dont want their rivals to gain an advantage. Man Utd at one time wanted Duff and Cole but Chelsea took them. Now if they were sold, Chelsea would definately not sell them to Man Utd so its almost like they bought them just so others cant have them. Its just sad. :(

I know it's only paper talk but £83million for Ronaldinho is just ridiculous, damn anything over £10million for Essien is stupid. Yes apparently if Chelsea sign SWP then Joe Cole will be thinking long & hard about his future, it is pretty harsh on players like Bridge, Parker 7 now could be Cole etc...but then again they were all too willing to sign the the big money contract.

I think Chelsea have shown that they are no longer buying loads of players. Nothing like Inter Milan at least, who do it every year. Instead Mourinho looks like he is streamlining his squad to get what he believes are 2 world class players in each position. I certainly don't think they want to get rid of Duff and Drogba. It's more like the Forssells, Parkers, Carlton Coles etc

£83 million is stupid, he is not worth that. If Fifa/Uefa wanted to curb this spending, they could impose a maximum expenditure per season - But they won't because they want to see money in the game. It woud only apply to the 2 Milans, Real Madrid and Chelsea anyway.
