The team that got Chelsea back in The CL isnt gonna play together this year and everyone said that the reason why Chelsea we're better in 02/03 was because they played with the same team compared to 01/02 when they put out a different team every week....

I don't think it will take long to get them playing as a team again. The spine of Coods, Desailly, Gallas, Terry and Lamps won't change and the new lads coming in are all natural footballers, so I think they will pick up the game plan pretty quickly.

What I worry about is the players we are looking for now like Mutu and Crespo (and Eto'o). These lads haven't played in the Premership, and I question their temperament.

Prof, my leads are red hot at the minute. I am expecting that we will sign Djibril Cisse sometime today. It's never going to stop, is it?

I still think Mutu is a good buy though. He plays off the main striker, he's got pace, a creative style, and can take free kicks too. But yeah, I don't know how someone like Crespo would fare in the Prem. Suspect eto'o would adjust better. I think what we've done this summer, above all, is enhance our attacking prospects, we shouldn't have a problem there. Just hope Mutu nets his first goal on his debut, or second game, don't want a Sutton experience. Saying that, Mutu is way more promising/better than sutton.

Who? Aliou Cisse? Yeah i heard about that. He was good in my old ML team though :) Wouldn't mind Davids. Its all a bit "will he, won't he," because he's on his last year of his contract, and Juve wouldn't want to let him go fo nothing, especially seeing as he still hasn't signed a contract again. (i think)

Well Juve just announced losses so they could look to sell, dont about Cisse apparently the auxxere coach has daid he'll leave if they sell Cisse but with reports of the fee being £20mill it'd be hard to say no...

Chelsea are still looking for the big signing, apart from the fact that its a new very wealthy owner spending sh*t loads of dough, non of the signings have shocked the footballing world for me the biggun would've been Vieri, but its getting silly now....

anyone know the odds on them not getting into The CL this year?

Other than Vieri or Davids, I don't think there is a single 'superstar' that I would want - they don't guarantee sucess.

Henry, Vieira, Van Nistelrooy, Keane, Pires - these players weren't the household names they are nowadays, I'd rather we made our stars than bought them.

Prof, it's actually a Russian guy called Alexie Smertine (Bordeaux), not weirdy beardy. A DMF, man marker.....more like it Claudio!

True, look at Henry. What wenger made out of him was amazing. Henry was just a fringe left winger at Juve, then they sold him without a second thought for far less than he's worth now, then wenger made him into a world class striker. Juve then popped down to the local "Supermercato" to buy some J clothes to wipe the egg off their faces.

Remember Vieira he was just sitting in the reserves at AC Milan and just look how good he is now.

These Italian teams are strange i tell ya!

Any predictions on th score tonight gentlemen? Hmm, i reckon either 2-0 to us, or possibly 3-1 to us. I can see them perhaps sneaking an early goal, being at home and all. Ones to watch: Duff, Veron and Carlton Cole.

Chelsea to lose tonite but to go through over two legs, its not going to be easy Blues fans.

I think Chelsea will win 4-0, goals by Hasselbaink 2, Lampard and Duff. This really should be a stroll in the park for Chelsea.

Makelele prof? Reports in Spain say he's about to join. I hope so.

WTF!!!

Surely Madrid wont sell their ONLY defensive midfielder, thier defence is already comparable to a pub side.....

Is tonites game on TV all over or just down south??

BBC2 (Probably National)

Apparently agreed a fee - if he does leave (Or Real are willing to let him leave) then it's dollars to donuts that a certain P Vieira will be in white next season.

There has been a lot of nonsense flying about recently but occasional news I get comes off (ie the takeover, Bridge and Joe Cole) so I am hoping this is one of them.

Fuck does Chelsea want a team of midfielders or something.

You're right Terry, this Makelele thing is on all th efooty websites. He appears pretty keen, but only as his wages will double. It looks as if this'll be a quick yes or no situation. If yes, Monday will be his last day as a Real Madrid player.

Gronkjaer, Geremi, Lampard, Veron, Cole, Duff, Stanic, Petit, Zenden and possibly Makelele. That would leave you with 10 midfielders! I think you need to start selling.....

Well, you can have Zenden and Stanic. We can throw you Bogarde as well.....as a sweetner.

Great, Bogarde put the icing on the cake. Would you mind looking after Robin for a couple of weeks?

He only wants to go where the money is, No way does he want to leave Madrid he's contracted there for a while yet, If they give him the money he wants he'll stay.

Does it not bother you that players are only coming cos of the money not because they want to wear The Shirt.

And what do you base this on? Does it bother you that Kleberson has said he dreamed of playing for Leeds and Newcastle before you finally came along?
