Re: Chelsea FC thread

The problem is the entire footballing media is always speculating about Chelsea. I would take it all with a huge mountain of salt, unless you hear the club directly stating an interest in a particular player.

Re: Chelsea FC thread

Chelsea Football Club and adidas today announced an eight-year sponsorship agreement.

Under the terms of the agreement, which comes into effect for the 2006/7 season, adidas will become the Official Sportswear Supplier, Official Product Supplier and Official Kit Supplier to Chelsea Football Club as well as a Partner, Club Sponsor and Technical Sponsor.

The partnership is a natural alliance between a leading sports brand and one of Europe's leading clubs. Chelsea FC will be provided with the latest, most advanced sportswear and joins an exclusive list of clubs who benefit from adidas' expertise. The partnership will allow both parties to work together to develop innovative products within an intensely fast moving industry.

"adidas has a policy of working with the very best and we believe Chelsea Football Club represents just that," said adidas-Salomon CEO Herbert Hainer. "Like adidas, they are a driving force in the game with a long and proud heritage. adidas has a passion for football and we believe that this shared outlook will enable us to build a long and successful partnership."

Peter Kenyon, Chief Executive, Chelsea Football Club, added: "This partnership is great news for Chelsea and we look forward to working with adidas, whose vision we share. We believe a global partnership with adidas will be a huge step in helping the club achieve its long-term strategic goals. Together we can become a formidable team."

The sponsorship agreement comes into effect on July 1st, 2006.

Re: Chelsea FC thread

Ashley Cole to Chelsea?seems like our bosses at club try to unsettled our opponents.

Re: Chelsea FC thread

That may have been the most boring performance I've sat through. I mean, I like Chelsea, they got away from their early-season rep of boring, 1-0 victories, but Robben, 1 player on a team that has 3 strings better than Blackburn, goes out and they play like dead robots. Pitiful, the least deserved win I've seen this year.

Re: Chelsea FC thread

What a dirty game that Blackburn played last night... F*cK off!!

thats terrible, a team fighting for relegation had the nerve to battle.

Its disgusting they didnt just bend over and take one of the rent boys...

Chelsea looked ordinary last nite, maybe it was the quality of the arsenal/united game that made it look worse.

Re: Chelsea FC thread

I never see James has play as well as last night. I just hope he can keep that when they play with Man Utd or Arsenal.

wrong, he has been playing out of his mind sice euro 2004.... seems to have confindence now... chelesea is weaker without robben

Re: Chelsea FC thread

Well the Chelsea game was the game I was looking forward to the most, and tbh it was dreadfull, even Everton and Southampton was a better game.

It just goes to show what impact Robben has on the team, and they either need to find someone as good as him for backup or change formation..

Maybe they should gone for a 4-4-2, I mean, having a striker on the wing is dumb, shoulda tried using a 4-4-2 Diamond, it woulda worked better imo.

But onto Kezman, what was going through his head when the ball came to him?..I mean WTF!!!!!why did he try and conrol the ball when he was 4 yards out and the keeper lying on the ground?..even a defender coulda scored that..

Maybe Mourinho used him to he would gain some confidence, but after that shocking error his confidence will be rockbottom.

Re: Chelsea FC thread

For Kezman, i'm quite disappointed of him this season, he wasted many chances to score. I know he may need more time to adapt the english style (but I think that's just one of the excuse). Gudjohnson is just a bit better than Kezman, but he's not sharp also.

Attacker is the weakpoint of our squad. If we want to win more silverware, we might need to buy 1-2 more sharper attacker.

Re: Chelsea FC thread

We'll definitely being buying a striker in the summer.
The fact that Robben is injured now means Kezman and Cole will get more games. I'm betting Kezman, if he gets more minutes, will sharpen up a bit. Who knows, he may even get a good spell.
We may well revert to the diamond shape we played during the earlier stages of the season too.

Re: Chelsea FC thread

 LOL........I've just read in a local paper that in some paper down south that Mourinho is to 'swear on the holy bible' that he did not meet with Ashley Cole. Supposedly he's very religious.

Is it true?

I'm 99% sure we're going to buy another winger in the summer. Someome like Romeo Castelen or Salomon Kalou, both from Feyenoord. Then of course maybe S. Wright-Phillips or even Downing. JM likes the winger system, so i can see him getting at least one more.

Re: Chelsea FC thread

And Joaquin too, I still think we might have a chance to sign him.

Re: Chelsea FC thread

Well, the wheels are still on  . Cole had a good game. Shame to see him come off, as he and Duff were the best 2 attacking players. I was personally shouting at Tiago to get off. I'm really not convinced by the guy. Every game, he just seems to make up the numbers imo, and rarely does anything useful.
Thank god we managed to stick one in after all the attempts though, especially after Eidur's alleged offside, which was clearly on.
Martyn had a good game. The guy could stil play for Englnd imo.

...and what was going through Beattie's head, did he think he was a ram or a rhinoceros or something?

Come on Man City! ;)

Re: Chelsea FC thread

this will be a tough test for us. 3 points are adament if you lot are to be challenged at all for the title! ;)

Re: Chelsea FC thread

The win over Everton has almost ensured that Chelsea win the league this season, and they also still have a chance of being the first team to ever amass 100 points in the premier league.

Does anyone know what the fuck Beattie was thinking when he decided to head butt Gallas? the man is a complete and utter fuckin idiot, 8 minutes into the match there is no excuse for stupidity like that.

Re: Chelsea FC thread

Chelsea striker Eidur Gudjohnsen has been arrested on suspicion of drink driving.

The Icelandic international was stopped in the early hours of Sunday morning in Surrey.

A Scotland Yard spokeswoman said: "At 5.20am on Sunday on the A3 southbound near Esher, officers stopped a car due to the way it was being driven. The driver, a 26-year-old man, was subsequently arrested on suspicion of driving while under the influence of alcohol."

She added: "He was taken to a south London police station and has since been bailed to return on a date at the end of March."

A report in The Sun suggested Gudjohnsen had been out celebrating his winning goal in Chelsea's victory at Everton on Saturday.

How can he be arrested on suspicion of drink driving? obviously they could have blood tested him to get an indication of his blood alcohol level.
