Champions League 2011/12

The supposedly best team, ever, in the history of all team sports, can't even keep a clean sheet against 10 men. "All at sea" doesnt even being to describe Barca dealing with a ball over head height, I thought it might be a weakness of them but still didnt expect it to be so bad. Chelsea have hit three long balls in that first half, one resulted in Valdes knocking out Pique, the other saw Drogba have a free run in the whole Barca box, and the last saw Ramires chip to make it 2-1.

Exactly. Barcelona are a disgrace these days. Should Terry have done what he did? No. Did it warrant Sanchez rolling around like a big f'kin Jessy? No. I'm no fan of Terry, I hate the guy, but when players are getting sent off for that, when up and down the country every Saturday afternoon football is played like a man's game, then there's something wrong with the direction football is heading.

If it wasn't for the exciting second half finish which we may have, I'd be turning this off. Football these days, for me anyway, is such a turn off, played by little boys and whiners. They all need to man up, and grow a pair. Personally, I've had it with Barcelona. Best team in the world? Yes. Best team ever? Yes. But that doesn't mean jack shit to me if their credibility is in constant question.

It was just a yellow card(See the referee's rule book) but disappointed on Terry. Ramires card was again not fair. It's all over now

The usual clowns here trying to justify anything. It's a clear and deserved red, only childish fanboys can justify this. What the hell is doing Terry with the boll 20 meters away? It's an aggression and there's no doubt. How pathetic are all this bunch of haters, they can recognize anything, ever, under any corcumstance. Hey, probably Bsrcelona players are drugged! Yeah!

Credit for Lampard and Ramires for the great goal. I dont see it that clear that we get through. We have wasted many chances and look too vulnerable even against 10 men!

Yeah I'm usually one to deride every decision Barca get for them but that was clear cut. Terry was a fucking idiot and you cannot do that sort of thing nowadays, especially off the ball.

Are the pepple saying Barca bought the ref kidding?!

There's only ONE guy to blame. He's the one who was trying to take advantage of the situation making A STUPID decision and that's their captain and idol John Terry!

Did Sanchez make the most of that, HELL yeah!! Did Terry deserve a red? OF COURSE!! Why are you kneeing a guy from behind when the ball isn't even there?! Is it not because you are trying to hurt him and bully him but KNOW most refs don't have the balls to send you off and essentially taking advantage then?

If Terry does that to any of you, you'd roll around too hoping to get him sent off and that's what I would've. After all, why the hell is he CYNICALLY kneeing you when the ball is nowhere near?! That's definitely a red card. And this right after you've conceded and so a temporamental guy like him has lots his cool.

What a way to lead by example! The stupid captain just taken all hopes away from Chelsea with the stupidest action he could've done and he's angry that referees saw it!

There's NO EXCUSE for doing that. And yes OF COURSE Sanchez milked it. IF you were illegally being kicked or kneed and bullied by opposition defender, you wouldn't do that to get a huge advantage and also teach the guy a lesson?

Maybe now he won't just bully strikers around when ball is nowhere near. I also noticed his hand was in Messi's face a couple times earlier in the game but that went unnoticed. This time assistant ref saw it and called ref into action.

Err, coming from a Barcelona fan (and Ajax and Arsenal apparently, take your pick) who's located in Barcelona.....how the irony is lost....

What a SICK Goal by Chelsea though! F'n makes it real interesting for us neutrals in 2nd half! WHAT A PASS by Lampard and such perfect cool finishing from Ramires who's playing better and better each week!

Should be a much more entertaining 2nd half now thanks to that late Chelsea goal!

Terry should not of done what he did but it was Sanchez reaction that got him sent off, he was rolling about the ground as if a Sniper had just took out his knee cap while Terry hardly touched him. Hopefully some Chelsea players start putting in proper aggressive challenges into some of these Barca players so they can roll about the ground as much as they like.

Now explain the Ramires yellow card.

Stop talking about football if you don't see that this was an obvious red card even my 12 year old daughter who is a huge Chelsea fan agreed with that.

Fabergas now diving about as if he has been shot, No contact there. UEFA should hammer these cheats but we know that wont happen! Spanish football is a disgrace!

I can't. I don't know what he got it for, I'm hoping to get an explanation for that too.

As for Terry's stupid action, there's nowhere in the referees' hand book that says an INTENTIONAL and cynical act to hurt your opponent and bully them OFF the ball when the ball isn't even close is a yellow. The ref could've given a yellow but there is NO EXCUSE for Terry to be doing that. If you are, you're only asking for trouble and the fact that it came after Barca's goal, shows it was purely out of frustration and anger. This is where being cool and composed helps. You're gonna act out of frustration and bend the rules hoping refs don't have the balls to send you off for these little kicks here and there, well he'll think again now cuz the captain has just handicapped his team.

And yes exactly! Sanchez HAS gone down like a sniper shot him and is absolutely milking it making it seem FAR worse! Why do that? To get Terry sent off for an action he SHOULD be sent off for. Would I do the same? Hell yeah. Why not get an advantage over a cheating opponent who's bullying you off the ball in CL semi-final with stakes so high? It's a no-brainer.

I guess it's down to your mentality, You would be happy to cheat others like myself despise cheating.

haha ambitious effort from Drogba.

It's going to be a looooong 34 minutes for Chelsea.

Haha, I can't believe people are arguing that wasn't a red. Please. Red, every day of the week. Credit to the 77 officials UEFA have out there for actually seeing it.

Also credit to the Barca fans for getting Cech booked. It was 3.5 seconds after he received the ball, and only 5 seconds after the ball had gone out of play.

I swear Barca's fans are louder appealing for cards than they are when their team scores. Loudest moment of the match so far was Mikel's booking.

Ouch, Lampard shows Terry how to stick a boot in and just get the yellow.

Need to get Torres on instead of Drogba. They have no outlet whatsoever.

That's GREAT offciating. Busquets sticks his body in the way without attempting to play the ball, hits Torres, feigns injury and then doesn't get the free kick, up like a light.
