Maybe if Jermaine Taylor could make the weight then that would be an option, as he is a good strong fighter.

Personally I agree, that Toney would be unable to make the weight.

Not heard of Duddy before, will keep an eye out for him. :)

Oscar looked class at the weekend, excellent stoppage on Mayorga.

De La Hoya is the model professional boxer, so glad he kicked this guys ass as he got a lot of crap from him.

Would like him to quit though now, and personally I think Mayweather would take him apart.

I watched all the build up to the fight on SSN and Mayorga brought it on himself. Im not sure if Mayweather Jr will be as open and shut as that. I relise the Golden boy had a big gap before this fight but he looked pretty sharp.

Im looking forward to Hattons fight on Sunday morning, I don't know much about his apponent but Im sure it will be a great fight. This is his chance to show America what he is made of and Im sure they will love him.
 
Yep, looking forward to this too, mate. Don't know anything on the opponent too, but he can get a belt out of it.

Also his brother Matthew is fighting on the same card.

Also in England, Clinton Woods fights earlier. Think he's a decent boxer.

This month is great for boxing, already had Oscar, then Hatton and the likes of Barrera and Cotto are coming up soon too. :)

Well Cliton Woods won his match without too many problems, the uppercut just before the stoppage was immense. He is a fighter thats getting on but god-dam he can hit a biatch.

Hatton was a bit lucky in my view, he started off brightly but had took too many punches later on. I think tbf it was a draw and at most a one point victory for Hatton. I think its good experience though, he will need to train harder than before if he is to stand any chance against a better puncher in the division. Still a Hatton fan and can't wait to see his next fight.

I saw Hatton fight Saturday nite,one tough cookie from Manchester.He can take a lick or 2.He might like fighting in the US,he`ll learn that the talking is part of the game.Seeing his parent their supporting is a big plus.We love that!
 
Yep, nice punch from Woods.

As for Hatton, I agree Cloud, thought he was lucky, but it could've went either way. Can't remember what round it was, but I think it could've been a knockdown on Hatton, but the ref never counted it.

Have to admit I think he should go down to light Middleweight again, he did admit that was his normal weight.

If he faced off against Mayweather, he'd get murdered.

Good fight with Barrera and Juarez at the weekend. Did think Barrera had won the fight by a round, but wasn't too bad a call with the initial result as a draw, but obviously there was a miscount :roll: and the result was given to Barrera. Probably think he should maybe call it a day as old father time is starting to catch up with him after all his many battles.

Khan was also fighting at the weekend, people said he looked brilliant, but I wasn't as impressed tbh. See that he's on a future bill with teh likes of Harrison vs Skelton and I'm sure he mentioned Joe Calzaghe too, so that should be a good night of fight.

Gutted missed all the boxing at the weekend, do you know the date for the Harrison fight?
 
8th July mate, will be on ITV or one of their other channels.

Also on the bill are Khan, Calzaghe and Macarinelli, opponents tba. Also Gary Lockett and Ryan Rhodes are fighthing (that's the other names I know of outwith the rest of the card).

Not sure who Calzaghe will face off, there are a few unbeaten fighters kicking around the top spot, but not sure who he'll opt for, think the Dane Kessler is 2nd (he's unbeaten).

Not sure if anyone saw the England fans gearing up for Germany on Thursday Night. Scot boxer Anderson beat home boy Young Muttley which resulted in the English fans charging the small contingent of Fifers who had travelled to the bout. Very nice. :roll:

I seen Corrales was pretty raging, thats a fair point if the guy knew he was going to make the weigh in.

I never heard about it but If so it sounds poor , but to be fair you cant tar everyone with the same brush. I mean does everyone in Ireland have a love of bombing Innocent people, does everyone In Germany still want to murder Jews. Dont try and put this down to England fans that arent even In Germany yet. Put it down to some idiots at a boxing match as thats all it is.
 
England/English fans on the whole have been well behaved for a number of years now, yet anytime a small number step out of line it's all "typical English fans" blah blah, yet other countries have much worse records for violent behaviour, racist behaviour etc. etc. and they never get castigated as much as they deserve, but still it's nothing to do with a boxing thread....

Valuev looked quite good yesterday, his opponent left much to be desired but still for an 8ft guy Valuev moved around fairly well, threw combinations, showed reasonably fast hands, could be an interesting matchup for some world class heavyweights, although the Germans seem to like wrapping certain boxers in cotton wool and not letting them fight outside the country or against decent opponents.
 
I seen that fight, he was nothing special really, he used a headbut and his opponent just folded, totally lost it and eventually lost the fight, but it does suck how a headbut can change the outcome of a fight.
 
Aye, I decided to stay up to watch it and I am struggling already :D

It kinda sucks how it lasts for 4 hours and I always fold near the big fight, hopefully the pre-fights are good and not boring else I will doze off after 1 hour.

I only want to watch that New Yorker guy get battered, he seemed the cocky type so I will love watching his head get demolished, I doubt I will watch the Bhop fight but again, cocky twat and I hope he loses.
 
Missed the Cotto fight, but see he won.

Hopkins was excellent against Tarver, going up 2 weights seemed a bit of a gamble, but he done it. Definetely a legend. Hope he quits now though at the top.

I watched them, that guy Paulie done well really, if he had more power he would've easily won, he had a burst eye after a few punches, his nose got burst later and his left cheek was swelling a bit. He lost on points by about 4 on average, but he got knocked down in the 2nd round I think.

At the start he seemed shakey, aka getting burst and put down, when he gets power he will be good, and quite frankly Cotto done nothing for me, a few hard shots but apart from the first 2 rounds and last 3 or so, he struggled.

Hopkins fight was boring, the guy he played was shocking and it was always a case of who wins on points.

Last couple of weeks has seen some big names over in the US.

Gatti who has been excellent throughout his career was stopped once again, think it's time for him to call it a day. Think he's been in far too many battles.

Was stunned to see Roy Jones Jnr fight on Eurosport on Sunday morning. Won quite easily, but not sure if it maybe best for him to pack it in, still looked quite impressive, but can't see him overcoming the top guns in his division.

I thought Jones had packed it in already...! I saw the Gatti fight, he just doesnt have it in his body anymore one 12 rounder to many.
 
Woods did well again to keep his title at the weekend although i thought Johnson had the decsion. Eitherway im sure Calzaghe would in his words "destoy them both". Khan lloked classsy again, but seriously what happened to the other guy. He was giving it all im coming to win ect then just rolled over, Khan needs to get some rounds under his belt im sure warren could match him up with someone who can take a punch.
