Battlefield : Bad Company Series

^ as Scutch says, Onslaught is probably cool for about a few hours...I didn't get it, but a bunch on my FL did and they all agreed the MS points used was not worth it.

I've not heard good things about onslaught mode after listening to some gaming podcasts. They all said it's basically a time-attack mode with enemies appearing in exactly the same location on every play-through.
 
You lot are making this game sound very good

Is there some teamwork now on this then because there was none of that in the demo

I think that map is called 'Valparaiso' and no it doesn't have conquest mode yet, which is a shame as it's a great map.

I mainly play rush with a bit of conquest.
 
I never played BF2, but one of the guys I know did - perhaps a little too much :

My friends and I tend to primarily play Conquest in hardcore mode now for two reasons.

The mine and C4 antic gets boring on Rush.

Guns tend to be more balanced in hardcore and it's easier for one person to kill a load if they get the drop on them.

Overall i find this game more fun than COD and every class brings something to the team.

It's great being a 2 or 3 man team for example holding a base against loads because you have a medic reviving you, or the lone sniper defending one base and overlooking the other your team mates attack, killing that one guy who snook round to your base and then watching the enemy defenders scramble around when you drop mortars on them before your mates mop up.

If you get 4 mates or more on and balance your squad out then (so long as the other squads are up to it) every player usually gets a chance to shine.

There's loads of "Saved your ass there" and "Ok you see him?", "Yeah *BANG*" type banter when you're playing.

My mates and I have never been into that "clan" style of gaming because it's a bit too serious and that l33tsp34k stuff is weird, but still if you get a regular bunch of you playing it's a good laugh being the designated Sniper or Tank Destroyer for example.

Looking forward to the Nam version, some full on Platoon action going on then i'm sure.
 
Seems they've fixed the exiting to save your skin bug; if you had been killed 20 times in a battle, you could simply exit and it wouldn't save your K/D score or obviously whether you won or lost the round.

Now, although exiting halfway through a battle can't save affect your Win/Loss score (as the round isn't over), it does save your kills and deaths as soon as you re-enter the battlefield. So if you die 3 or 4 times, every time you come back, it will save your stats. Obviously if you die once and then exit, it doesn't have time to save the progress, but 1 death is a pretty pointless means of rage quit, anyway.

Good stuff, because I know a lot of folk were being killed 10+ times a round and simply exiting, thus not affecting their overall K/D ratio.
 
Yeah. Some guys will do anything for a positive K/D ratio.

Mine is hovering around 1.0 at the moment. Not that it matters, mind.

Bang on. I've seen folk on Rank 50 exiting the game because their chopper has been destroyed on Atacama Desert. They've only got to Rank 50 because of that fucking helicopter.

I fucking hate the chopper-whores, especially the ones that sneak into your own base to steal your chopper. If I see people do this I load-up the helipad with C4, hide up and wait for them to get in.
 
I was reading through this thread and the game sounds good.

I wanna get it but solely for single-player as I don't play multiplayer. Is it worth it?

I'm on 360.
