Flawl3ss you only have a 1 stick of 512mb ram don't you? I think that could be a problem cos this game likes ram. I've just come out of a game there where it's using up my 1gb of ram. It also uses like 800mb of my page file. I'm no doubt gonna get some more ram soon but I'll probably wait till I upgrade my mobo and processor.

woooohooo got mine at 1pm. Played for 5 minutes and then got a complete system hang!

i was positive i had fixed the crashes on the demo too.
i love that static anti tank weapon though... brilliant.

im not happy about installing game"300tons of adware"spy to fix the account problem though. grrrrr
was that the only way to fix the account ranking problem BOADC?

Nah, didn't work. I have read that they're not updating the ranking system just now as people are hacking it. So they're gonna wait until it's patched. Dunno if that's true though.

I havn't recieved my copy yet and not heard from gameplay that somethings gone wrong with the order, I logged into my account to see the staus, but it just says ordered, where can I find out estmated shipping date etc?

Ive just thought BOADC, maybe the rankings aint working yet
as the game isnt supposed to be out till tomorrow?
Maybe they are waiting till everyone can officially have it in their hands before kicking it off?

ps. Is there any decent servers running the full game at the moment? I can only see wierd french ones and crap like that

People have already been gaining rank up until now, check the leaderboard bit in bfhq, people have scores already. As for servers, I've been playing on superserver.co.uk #1 & #2 today. I played the demo there along with Flawl3ss, seems ok to me.

Get on xfire guys if you are playing tonight, that way we can join each others games. I'll be on soon for a game. :)

Pointless at the moment.
I have been attempting to play it since about 6pm
every time i get into a game I get a full system crash which requires turning the pc off!
Ive tried f*cking everything i can think of to stop it.. Its doing my nut in.

amd64 3800
geforce 6800gt
2 gig corsair 2-2-2-5 ram

its not my system...

demo was running fine (after sorting a few bits and bobs) too.grrrr

Ive just noticed some new nvidia drivers came out yesterday
77.72, the ones with bf2 were 77.30 betas. So Im going to get them and try again.
I will also try running single player and see if the crashes are just occuring in Multiplayer. After that I will try chucking the pc out the window... that should make me feel better.

Funny, I started the demo today if that crashes too with the new drivers, worked just fine. Then started the real thing, joined some servers with few players and that worked fine too. Strange.

It's a lot easier doing it coming from the sea towards land but it can be done the way this fella was trying too.

I don't know what to suggest like. Your computer shouldn't have any problems running even at the highest settings especially with that 2 gig of ram. What was it that you found helped with the demo?

Try turning off hyperthreading in your bios and EAX in the game.

Nobody on XFire, where are you guys! ;)

AMDs dont have hyperthreading do they?

Ive tried with sound at software and eax off, doesnt make any difference.

Heres the interesting thing, Ive just played the single player
with everything running and it ran fine, no problems whatsoever,
I then stopped that game went to multiplayer and it crashed on the select weapon and spawn point screen...
To me that means it isnt Video, sound or anything like that.
Its gotta be something to do with the connection side of things so
I tried opening up ports through the router but that didnt do anything.

BOADC I turned the MS firewall off, thats what sorted the demo.
But its still off.. :|

Ive bloody uninstalled the demo too so I cant go back in and check that still runs alright.. dohh..
i think i will go for a complete uninstall of bf2 and start again.
see if that helps.

Yeah that's probably a good idea. When I first installed the demo I couldn't get the map to load past 15% until I re-installed. Fingers crossed mate. It's still pretty weird how there's so many problems. I haven't changed anything and have had no problems since installing the full game.

Im just reading the planet battlefield forum
some bloke has exactly the same problem as me.

Demo runs fine, single player runs fine, multiplayer hangs and needs a hard reset.
He reckons its something to do with punkbuster.
No fix for it though.. dohh

Jesus, just checked my router firmware. Its miles out of date.
Right upgrade that now and see if its that f*cking thing..

The dam level is awesome. Just played it with Noted. Try climbing the crane ON the dam, the highest point of the map...then parachute off.

I Manually updated Punkbuster and it ran!!... for 2 minutes
then crashed.. dohh

Good game with KingMonkey84 tonight, only us two in the squad but definitely great fun. Can't wait until monday to play again. ;)

peat just read about someone else with the same prob as you on OcUK. I'll keep an eye on it for you.

can you try disabling pb and joining a server without it enabled to check?

EDIT - ah ha! the ranking system works, they must just be taking their time to update it!

I tried mate.
I unchecked PB on the filters and then turned my pb off
but every server i tried to connect to said it needed pb!?

I tried that updating my nforce4 drivers last night
and this morning my pc wouldnt boot! I had to do a system restore.
F*cking shat meself
Just got the reply from EA support.. complete waste of time
they spent 3/4 of the email telling me how packets work across the internet ffs!
