Arsenal Thread

I just want them to sort out our injuries!

If we had an injury free team for most of the season, we could match and easily beat all of the teams around us.

Its just soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo FRUSTRATING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

With the search for a more physical striker, who can play up front and bring another dimension, Adriano will be available for a free from Flamengo soon.

I know he has temperment issues, and went AWOL at Inter, but he may well be work a punt - for free.

Plus, with Adriano in the team, we'll be licenced, and the best team in PES 2011! :LMAO:

Just read a quote on Fabregas on BBC. We really do need a heavyweight CF. Adriano is an example but he is unpredictable, could cause problems in the dressing room and miss training sessions. The guy is plain lazy and Flamengo have been complacent.

Balotelli is another option, but also a nut case.

We're pretty much screwed without RVP and, hell, RVP himself isn't a natural CF!
AW really overlooked the importance of replacing Adebarndoor.

Both CL and EPL campaigns now are in danger because of lack of planning.

I would have a go for Luis Suarez of Ajax. He found the central forward in Amsterdam as the
perfect role for him this season and scored 17 goals in 16 appearances, also 10 Assists,
he is also very physical and only missed 4 games in the last 2 and a half year. But don't know
if he will be avaible for Champions League because he played already in Europa League for Ajax.

Adriano is no option for me, the Premier League doesn't suits well to him, he is not fast enough.

I read that Robin is only out for 3 months according to himself
because he had a great surgery? Anybody can confirm that? :)

Not heard anything here yet on that matter.

I found this quote

Robin van Persie is among Gunners' absentees - but the Dutch striker may be back sooner than expected.

Van Persie feared a six-month spell on the sidelines after an ankle injury playing for Holland against Italy last month.

But Van Persie has had surgery and told pals he could now return in three months.

I've heard good things about Suarez but not really seen him play much, only the odd bit here and there. Anyway, I watched Ajax against Utrecht on Sunday and he played pretty rubbish so not the best first impression for me!

Think he might be out of your price range anyway, they're rumoured to want €35m for him!

Adriano or Ruud might be a better bet.

Can't really imagine Ruud playing here, Arsenal fans hated him, he hated Arsenal.
Not a good basis for a transfer :D Another two boys came in my mind: Louis Saha and Seydou Doumbia.

Yeah Saha is a superb striker, he's got good movement, good pace and can link play up with the midfield too so he would probably fit in well with you although I can't see Everton selling him now. Without his goals they'd be even further down the table.

Saha's injury problems will help him settle in at Arsenal very easily. And he's french too.

Why isnt he already playing for you guys?

Sign up Luca Toni from Bayern in January. He will do any club good for at least 2 more seasons.

Luca Toni :CURSE: are you serious? He become such a worse striker in the last year and it's not
about Van Gaal, he lost his abilities in my opinion and he is way to slow for Arsenal.
And of course he will go only into Serie A, maybe Roma.

Whatever, I hope it will be anybody for now because we don't know about Mr. Wengers attitude.
I want somebody similar to Robin, so I still prefer Huntelaar.

You know ITV really make me laugh - their such a numpty station.

Mostly have United or 'Pool on the ITV1, but decide to play our last game of the group stage on their main station. Yeah thanks you cunts. Just cos 'Pool are out and Arsenal have qualified already, so if the kids get a pasting, good old bent nose Townsend can lay into them. Wankers.

I was talking about this to my Dad the other day. Bloody wankers!

Hopefully our youngsters will do us proud!

We need as most of you already said a more physical striker.
Eduardo, Vela, are way too small and do not have the physical abilities to be successful in Premier League.
Bendtner could be a possible solution for this role but he is not experienced enough and also injured at the moment.
So it's no question that we have to sign a new Striker in january.
Adriano, Toni, Ruud are not suitable for that Job.
But what about Pavlyuchenko?!
He would fit perfectly to Arsenal and Arshavin could support him at Arsenal cause they already know each other from russia national team.

Arsenal`s players were some very ,very young blood and I think they played well. For the exception of vela and theo they have dropped massively in performance .I`d like wenger to field a 50/50% not 90/10% .

Our kids did alright against Olympiakos, but one thing is clear to me - we don't have a real striker!

After RVP's injury there's an open place up for grabs in our 1st team but no one is stepping up to the plate. Vela and Eduardo are indeed too lightweight and miss too many chances. Even a big boy like Bendtner wouldn't be doing good now cause he also misses an awful lot in front of goal. Arshavin is our best option for CF at the moment, as shown against Stoke! So you get the idea...

It's been clear that our team doesn't shoot on goal. Today the lads were great, had possession and created chances but there's no one up front to do the job.

We need a cold-blooded, even selfish CF, who will have a go from anywhere if given half a chance! Luis Fabiano is a typical example. But since he's expensive, I'd say pick someone on loan for 6 months at least! Someone said Huntelaar and I agree. Milan isn't using him there, just sign the guy on loan. Anything!

I'm fed up with passes in front of the box and no one shooting. Frustrating, read my lips Wenger, FRUSTRATING!

Milanista, I couldn't help but notice you have now Thiago Silva in your avatar. I haven't been following much Serie A, but I do wonder how he's doing there?
Just so you know, this guy is still a Legend among Fluminense fans! Well, I personally think he is a fantastic CB and could even become a starter for Brazil before the WC 2010.

Sorry about the off-topic guys.

Arshavin and Eduardo should swap just the positions for now, Eduardo did well on the left wing,
the match against Portsmouth is a fantastic example for it and Arshavin played for Zenit and Russia
in this central role and played fantastic against Stoke, so I agree let Arshavin as CF but we should come back to 4-3-3

--------------------------Almunia-------------------------
----Sagna------Gallas-------Vermaelen------Traore---
---------------------------Song---------------------------
-----------------Fabregas----------Denilson--------------
------Eboue--------------Arshavin-----------Eduardo----

Btw. I sent a very long Email why Arsenal should pick Huntelaar just for fun to Arsenal :D :BOP:

Sorry for the offtopic - but he is awesome! Him and Nesta are such a great CB pair. Thiago Silva immediately became a 100% starter for Milan and I think he'll be here for quite a few years. Hope he gets a spot for the WC. He's an awesome player with a good playing ethic - very clean player. Also scores quite a lot of headers :D

Glad to know that :)
Yeah, he's very fair. What I also like about him is that he is so good on the ball and he's quite fast as well! I really hope he gets into Brazil's first team next year. Dunga has already been using him in the 1st team lately.

I can imagine he adjusted quite well to Leonardo's team, just like Vermaelen fit here at Arsenal. There aren't too many CB's like them these days.

Come on!!! If we beat Liverpool tomorrow and win the rearranged fixture against Bolton, we are back in business
after Manchester and Chelsea didn't win. But I really fear Torres because he's back for tomorrow :(

Thats a big if though. liverpool will be well up for it. they will step up a gear and Gerrard and torres will terrify our defence.

If we get a draw I will be happy. If we win I will be ecstatic!

Hopefully we can, but it will be extremely difficult.

But your right if we do, we are right back in it.
