Eduardo was such an honest player until that night.Arsssh! is honest ,but after losing out on WC and seeing what Henry did must entertain his mind at night.I lost my naive imagine on man and hope a 3rd eye w`d help.
 
The handball was shocking, but some of the hate towards Thierry today is well over the top. Like someone else said, its no different to someone diving to win a pen and then that incident winning the game. Rather like Owen did in the 2002 World Cup against Argentina, which ultimately knocked them out. Because it was an English player that did it its swept under the carpet...

Ireland really only have themselves to blame...they had plenty of opportunities to put the game to bed in normal time.
 
I think more worrying was what ArseBlog reported from John Cross of The Mirror:

yes its been blown out of proportion yet again. But it will be forgotten about.

Ireland would still have the rest of extra time and pens to get through, its a game of football and they had 2 legs.

Are they honestly saying Irish players dont dive/haven't cheated the ref?

HOWEVER, i do think FIFA's decision to seed the playoffs was a ridiculous attempt to ensure the big boys are at the tournament to make as much money as possible, and to please the sponsors.
 
If we get a result against chelsea then we should be on the right track again. But that is a big if, going to be am extremely difficult game.

Sunderland pretty much had a full strength team that had two weeks rest.

We had two weeks of international games and lost a few players. So people shouldn't read too much into that game.

I just hope we can pull it together for Chelsea game.

Just seen the highlights and although it wasn't up to our best obviously. I don't think Sunderland deserved the win.

We really need to sort out our defending on corners!!

Also I think we should of had a penalty, Vela made the most of it....but I still think it was a pen.

Oh well, back to the drawing board, hopefully we can get a win on tuesday to boost us for the chelsea game.
 
Sunderland got very lucky with that goal, really. That's what we call a pinball goal! But we're still to blame, didn't create enough chances and the few we did, we wasted!

Eduardo has to step up to the plate now! He's been wasting loads of goal opportunities. That was just a preview of how we're gonna look like without RVP up front. Neither Eduardo or Bendtner are as sharp as RVP in front of goal. Hope I'm wrong, but could be hard times to follow.
 
Well done Denilson that`s how you comeback w/ a cracker of a goal from like 40 yards out even though that ball floated like a balloon :LOL: daft keeper.This Ref was off the mark Eboue had a penalty deny even if Eboue known for daft tactics .Then the ref deny Standard L. when Gallas I couldn`t even explain what he did :LOL: Funny bit was when Vermaelen took a shot and knock Arshavin to the ground and they gave us the corner :P I hope we don`t get that ref from Austria anytime soon....
 
I think the worrying thing from the game was that we could have lost had it been a better team. Defence lapses still hamper us.

It's like we get bored or something, and tend to give chances. We need to be more ruthless, row z sometimes with clearances.

Song was very impressive last night. He is becoming one of my fav players, and i doubted his ability when he first came into the team. We better have a DMF capable of covering for him in Jan and the ANC.

I think everyone (myself included) doubted his ability when he first came to the club, and that's putting it politely. Arseblog and others used to lay into him week in week out as the butt of many joke about how poor our midfield was becoming. He looked slow, clumsy and didn't appear to have any redeeming qualities whatsoever. Everyone wondered what Wenger was playing at by fielding him, but then I guess that's why he's a £multimillion football manager and we're... not.

I'm happy to chow down on an entire humble pie on this one as he's more than proved himself capable of playing at this level. He's now an integral part of the midfield and I'm a bit worried about what will happen in Jan. Fingers crossed for an early Cameroon exit!
 
yeah SONG is vital in the middle I was very harsh on Song and Denilson calling them puppies among Dogs. Whatever happen to FlaminiWho? If they were puppies now I call them dogs among dogs :COOL:
 
rather it came out now and not in 6 weeks at least it gives Wenger to sort out this problem in the window. We got Arshavin and it worked great for us :BOP:
 
Think it's a ridiculous situation that clubs have to foot the bill for international injuries. Torres' has come back injured 5 times so far, now RVP is out for 4 months. Told you he would only play half a season. And that for some meaningless friendly.

You would've been absolutely fine if one of your players actually bothered to have a fucking shot on goal instead of trying to walk it into the fucking net.
