Arsenal Thread

im watching it now the full game and only watched 10mins of it so far and i am already amazed at how brilliant this game is to watch! what a fucking game so far!!

Henry is watching too lol

Was a great attacking display. But You think when you come up against a Drogba or a Torres our defence will get ripped to shreds. It is worrying me a bit.

But at the end of the day if we score loads of goals and keep scoring more than the opposition then that will be fine :DD

Just loving the fact we can get goals from anywhere! its brilliant.

to be fair mate look at Liverpools defence. they have leaked more goals then us yet you dont hear people complain about their defence but if its us, we get criticised heavily.

Read some of the newspapers, not once was liverpools defense questions while ours have been. What about united defence? They too leaked two goals at home

Jonney you dont half talk rubbish, Liverpool's defence has been getting critised every game this season after they lost to Tottenham on the opening day. Carragher is getting called past it, Skrtel looks overwhelmed and Johnson leaves too much space behind him. If anything they get more critism for their defence than yours.

As for our defence... surely you've read negative opinions on Ben Foster and Vidic and Ferdinand's drop in form?

Think before you speak, you make yourself sound like a pleb.

We are just clicking into gear now.....and then we get another international break...

Anyway, I am confident we can keep going where we left off against Birmingham in the next league game...some of the football we played yesterday was sublime. Long may it continue...:APPLAUD:

Gotta say you guys were an absolute pleasure to watch. Arshavin and Fabregas in particular are two of the most intelligent players I've seen. The little runs into space are just out of this world.

Surely Arsenal would win a 5 on 5 tourney :)

I just hope our lads make it back in one piece.

How brilliant is Vermaelen this season so far! I even put his name on my Arsenal shirt :)

That goes to show that although AW lacked quantity in the last 2 transfer windows, he excelled in quality: Arshhh and Verminator are already among our most important players and they have what it takes to become legends in the club if they keep this level of performances - and if Arsenal actually wins trophies from now on, that is.

Read an article about Thomas Vermaelen being wasted in the Center Back. His views were to say his attacking plus defensive minded would suit more to our DM problems. I kinda agree I was wondering if Diaby could play as CF or ST he has strength to push off players which Robin lacks. He can score goals and his height is good. Then we would need to find a well suited CB to compliment William.Obviously Wenger has in the past changed CB into MD I do think Song is getting better with his movements with and without the ball w/ much more confidences.

If I can point our biggest problem it would be a national Ready Made top stopper Keeper...

I like Eboue......now :DD

He still has the odd glimpse of being a dick, but he has improved ALOT! he is a good player to have in the squad.

Not sure. He's frustrating. Occasionally he'll do something really good and you'll remind yourself to give him a bit of a break.

Then he'll screw an easy chance well wide, lose the ball casually in midfield or get sent off for two stupid yellow cards against S*purs.

He could be decent, Eboue. He has tremendous speed with the ball, incisive runs and... always manage to cock up a shot or an easy pass. Sometimes he shows no brains. But he is improving, I think so too. For now I think he should get rid of the cheating - diving and trying to score with his hand - cause he makes a fool of himself when he does that and leaves Arsenal with 10 men.

im watching the league table and ive noticed something. we have one match less than the others above (except man city). and if we manage to win at that match, we will be first easily. it changes the perspective a little bit, doesnt it?

when djourou will be back, it will be interesting to see Vermaelen as a DMF, and Djourou alongside Gallas.

If us and Man city both win our games in hand, we will be 4th and they will be third. I don't know how you worked out we will be first?

But yeah its still close and I think there will still be games lost by the top few teams, its going to be an interesting season :DD

I wouldn't want to mess around with Vermaelen's position, as him and Gallas now have a great understanding.

Djourou was originally a DMF, so would probably like to see him in there, but i don't think his ball control, first touch etc is up to that of a midfielder.

I was in Dominican Republic last week it seem sky service is huge there now they showed lots of footy even saw the England game  . Looks like Arsenal made an impact there cause the EPL is bigger then La Liga there now and I like to credit that to Arsenal even though they have a large Mutd section there.

Well everyone wrote you off, and everyone can count you back in again.

I'm glad in a way because

a) we don't have to play you again for ages.
b) your lovely football deserves some reward.

TBH mate when wenger first came to arsenal, wasnt we competing for like 6-7 years on the trot and not finishing below 2nd?

Before Wenger took over;

1995-96 5th

1994-95 12th

1993-1994 4th

1992-1993 10th

1991-1992 4th

1990-1991 1st

So we definately were not constantly battling for the league.

Since Wenger took over;

3rd
1st
2nd
2nd
2nd
1st
2nd
1st
2nd
4th
etc
