Arsenal Thread

Ramsey is not a right winger he's a center midfield player...
in some matches can work okay but recently play has became too narrow

match against swansea wasnt a good performance there was no plan b swansea sat in defence
there was some good moments good build up play but refused to shoot at good opportunities
arsenal needed to try and shoot outside the box or wherever
instead of trying to make the perfect goal because there was some good moments
its frustrating when teams are aggressive against us nothing then
and one game shelvey wouldve got sent off but against arsenal he stays on and does 3 bad fouls
ive seen far too many inconsistencies this season for referees decisions

although in part was thinking arsenal shouldve just taken the draw but in other ways i understood why arsenal pushed forward because only a win wouldve put 2nd into our hands a draw wasnt good enough but still...

mike dean should not be a ref in a man utd game...
every little decision went their way, they get soft free kicks we never got the same for similiar incidents they fell like flies,
was smalling trying to take off giroud's shirt?
1 shouldve been a penalty and 2 smalling really wanted girouds shirt he only needed to wait till 90 mins is up and ask after the match and asked then....

arsene wenger should say theres a campaign against us that will help next season heck mourinho said it and it won them the title

theo theo theo!!!
see the difference when ramsey is in midfield things happen!
play has been better vs man utd since ramsey moved into midfield with walcott wide
arsene needs to learn how to rotate players better and have their players in the best positions
rather than best players in positions
1-1 think we shouldve done better but it was a better performance giroud done good build up play early on
but later in the game he had chances and done poorly

We were toothless in the 1st half. I don't know. If Wenger thinks it's normal to play an entire half without an effort on goal... I don't think it is!

We had some good chances in the last quarter of the match. I'm not sure if we improved a lot or United got worse.

What I do know is: Wenger has to stop with his crazy inventions. Ramsey at right wing, Cazorla as a deep lying CMF... Today Santi was found out. His worse performance I've seen by far.
Very neat to play a skillful guy like him there, it's wonderful when it works... some people even said it was the triumph of technique over physicality. But do that on a trip to Old Trafford and see what happens.

We were really poor for the most part and very sloppy up front. It was a strange game that, even though we were poor, it felt like we could have won. We had a string of chances in the end, but our attack today was never gonna score. Giroud was sub par and Alexis put in one of his worst performances too. No wonder the equaliser came as an own goal!

But that will take us where we need hopefuly, which is a CL with no playoffs.

I still think Özil should stay on the bench when playing the likes of City or United away, even if he would perform well in those matches. It's better to play with a deep 4-3-3 away and Özil only performs well through the middle. Play Ramsey and Cazorla in the middle next to Coquelin and two real wingers (Alexis, Theo, Welbeck, Ox) which could break on the counter attack. It would stabilise the defence a lot more. It worked great away at the Etihad btw. where Özil was indeed on the bench.

At home or against less threaty opponents away it's different, play just like today.

We didn`t deserve anything from that match. Their gol was sublime!!! I hate seeing Cazorla/Ramsey playing out of position. We need a win on Wednesday and play the other XI on the last day..game will be meaningless .

One of our favourites of all time, Dennis Bergkamp, just turned 46 last week. How time flies!

Watching mostly the 1st half of this video...

YouTube - Dennis Bergkamp technical genius

...gives us an idea of why he has these numbers:

Premier League assists

Premier League assists & goals combined

An absolute genius this man and the main reason why I started following Arsenal in the first place.

same! I saw him WC'94 in Orlando Citrus Bowl Stadium. I started watching him in SerieA then to Arsenal. I even went to Highbury in `91 wasn`t even a Arsenal(fan) then .I thought Milwall were cooler and I should of been a MKDon fan('04) if Im honest -_- .

We're piss poor once again. 10 minutes to go.

First it was Chelsea. Ok, they're strong defensively.
Then Swansea. Err..
Now Sunderland are proving they can get a clean sheet too. Just put 10 men behind the ball.

EDIT:
Full time. Sunderland held us to a draw and had a few chances of their own. Really similar to the Swansa match, except we didn't lose.

The writing's on the wall.
Just commit 10 guys behind the ball and Arsenal won't hurt you, despite having Sanchez, Ozil, Cazorla, Ramsey, Giroud, Walcott, Wilshere...
All those players, all that possession and we still looked toothless.

If Villa decides to do the same, we're gonna have trouble.

SHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOT.

I was saying to my friend, someone as selfish as Ronaldo in front of goal (and obviously with that kind of quality) would complete your team.

Arsenal need a (non-Sanago) Yaya, someone with power, someone who can rifle a shot into the top corner from distance on a consistent basis.

During our title wins we've had a nice blend of trying to walk the ball in, with Silva and Nasri, and 'fuck this shit' shooting, with Toure. Arsenal don't have that - it's skewed too far to the 'walk the ball in' tactic.

We played about 57+ games .... They are only super rich designed humans! Games came fast and quick for long period of time and play lots to weird unfavourable schedule in May. That said its hard playing a side that only needed a point to get their objective. We always seem like conceding every time we pepper spray the gk with no end product ... The longer , the more impossible it seemed especially towards the end of the season.

I expect the final(FA cup) to be different for the reward at the end of the match. 3rd spot and (2) trophies will set up nicely
Community Shield vs MCFC
FA Cup vs AVFC to retain the trophy \0/ .

I still want Wenger to leave at the end -_- bring Pep n Cesc back!

He's not leaving so buckle up! I'm actually looking forward to see what he will do. At least he's recognised that we've been toothless for the past 3 or 4 matches.

He also admitted he will have a little dip in the transfer market...

The funniest bit is his face. I don't think he was enjoying it that much!

Must be the same face he puts on when signing a 42m pound check for Özil.

Oooops...pina!
Despite a good win, his performance is a silent alarm for something we need to address in the offseason. What a nightmare he had in the 2nd half. WBA's goal from that corner looked as if the keeper wasn't even there! Plus he almost conceded a 2nd in the most ridiculous manner.

We definitely need to get our hands on Petr Cech. Mourinho normally would oppose to that but he said the matter is out of his hands. So it's fair to say Arsenal has a good chance of signing him if they're serious about it. Show him the money and I'm sure he will love to stay in London, keep his children settled in the same place, not a radical change in his life.

Arsene needs to move fast on this one! I think a great keeper is one of the things that would improve us the most.

Don't want to be harsh on Ospina, as he apparently has one of the best match/goal ratio. But even so, and even with Szczesny having been joint best keeper in the league in the previous season, I don't feel safe with either.
We're talking about fine margins and if we think about it, we have a FA Cup final in 6 days. Ospina's howlers could cost us dearly if he puts in another performance like that.

On another note, some very encouraging signs came from the English boys Theo and Jack. They seem to have grasped better than our other players that possession football is nothing without some real intent. Wilshere was superb going forward and gave us something we had been missing and so has Theo Walcott. His finishing was superb today and if he repeats this kind of performance I'll have my mind changed for good about his shooting skills. Hope this wasn't an one-off from Theo.
But another brilliant aspect is how he always looked to set himself up for a shot with the least touches as possible. That adds a real threat to our attack, which was becoming slow and predictable in the last 3-4 matches.

I think with this hattrick Theo may just have made the great impression Wenger needed to see to renew his contract (although this wasn't a big game by any means).

Arsenal fans are like Ron Paul fans, they win every online poll.

eg. Half of the shortlist were Arsenal players
