Arsenal Thread

Giroud is playing quite well and making a difference, but it's not enough. I don't know what Wenger is trying to do by benching him and replacing him with Sanchez.

Blatant offside aside..that run by Lukaku was freakin awesome.
Blatant offside ? It was very very thin. You can't judge a linesman for a play like that. Without technology is impossible to determine those types of offsides, IMO, in those cases, if they call it is ok and if they don't call it, it's ok too.

Really? The linesman had a perfect view of it. Inexcusable that it wasn't called. Debuchy intentionally stopped chasing Naismith to hold the line.

Think both Wenger and Martinez had a mare today. Dunno what Wenger was doing with his team selection and Martinez killed Everton with his subs.

As for the offside, unfortunately linesmen don't have a device that can freeze time ;) Offsides are tough to call when so close. There's a test online you can do to see how good a linesman you'd be. Hint: you're probably not very good

looking where the sideline ref is standing ,he must of been watching Mirallas lol

This could of been the same result as last weekend 1-2 would of been perfect. Sanchez is not ready to play up front unless Theo is on the right side. Ox is guilty of running n stopping and turning too much (I wont mention the elephant in the room jack). That is not how you play on the wings and for Lee Dixon to say he`s a direct footballer I don`t think so. Ramsey games (2) goals(2) :))

Its an improvement from last season 3-0 hammering :BOP:

I actually wanted the draw, but got really annoyed with Everton's...canniness. Martinez has clearly drilled them up on that, but every time there was the slightest contact, they were 'earning' free kicks to relieve pressure.

It's something that United and Arsenal need to get better at tbh. I can't count the number of times last season United were chasing matches and were undone by excellent gamesmanship. Both of our teams need to get nastier and more savvy.

Naismith is one foot offside, ffs, stop the whinning. Those calls are extremely difficult to make. The defender that may put the player onside is block, from the side-judge POV.

you smelled 'shit' and walked in and said stop whining. Excuse me for not wiping.

The fact is Everton was massively outplaying Arsenal until the 60th minute and could have piled on the goals. No one except Wenger complained about the offside because the goal was long overdue. It's pointless to talk about the offsides. The team played like crap in the 1st half and looked utterly helpless until Giroud came on in the 60th minute. Everton and Martinez practically gave Arsenal the draw by practically falling asleep and not making any subs or moves until the pendulum had already started swinging Arsenal's way.

Sanchez is not cut out to be a lone striker. We saw this in The Crystal Palace match. We saw it today. If Wenger doesn't trust Giroud, he should have bought a better forward (Martinez, Balotelli, etc). Sanchez cannot replace Giroud. Just as Walcott cannot replace Giroud or play as a lone striker up top. This is tactical suicide. Might as well play Carloza or Ox as a lone striker.

We are lucky to have 4 points in 2, rather than a draw against CRY and a loss today. Both times, it was Giroud's entrance that changed the outcome.

Can't help but think Wenger is still stuck on 2011 Barcelona that destroyed him. No true striker. Just a bunch of false 9's. Maybe he wants Sanchez to be his Messi, but it ain't working. Hoping we sign up an enforcer in the mid and possibly a striker before the window closes. IMO, we should've gotten Balotelli. Honestly, at that price tag, it's definitely a steal.

You are the one saying that you should have won if it wasn't for that call.

I didn't smell no shit, just passed by and saw everyone complaining. Then watch the replay and the guy is literally one foot offside. How can people complain when it's a small mistake by the side-judge? Didn't watch the game, but small things like that happen all the time. Give the guy a break. That's all i'm saying. Arsenal drew because they were poor all game, but persistent in the end. Not because of the ref.

you did smell 'shit' and handing out wipes w/ your censorship. I mention the result could of changed , I wasnt moaning about the result. I compared the result almost being identical to last weekend. We conceded and score twice.

Sry ! no one complains in your BengiveAfuk-fica thread :P

Manduzic was there to play along w/ Giroud. We made no efforts and he scores versus RM by a assist from Griesmen :COAT: nothing is more sweeter then,to have new recruits doing the business.

Censorship? Do I have a power over here? Don't think so. Anyways, My view has been stated, no reason to go forward with this.

I admit those trophies from the '60s still look good.Im happy for the supporting fans. :))

That still doesnt give you the right to say stop whining for a ref`s decision,(its what fans do) we know errors are part of the game . Although the linemen is staring right at the player . I know Arsenal will get a offside goal in the season. I think its important to state the obvious for the future. You contributed and did what you think is right.

I will return you the favour one day :P

I'm not opposed to critizing the refs, but do it when there's a clear influence, bad refereeing, blantant mistakes, etc. Even today we had the Málaga-Athletic as prime example of fucked up refereeing. Everton-Arsenal wasn't like that (at least on that particular goal).

Ref and linesman fucked us over twice in the 2nd Everton goal. Clear foul by Lukaku on Mertesacker IMO. We've seen fouls given for much less contact than that throughout the whole match.
And then there was the offside. Pretty clear to be honest.

Arsenal were playing badly until some point in the 2nd half. Giroud came in and fired our first shot on goal! That says a lot.
The main problem being Arsenal populating the attacking half with 6 men around their box but not taking a shot a single time. Instead, they eventually play a poor pass and Everton come at us on the break.
This happens time and again, and it is still my main gripe with Wenger's gameplan. Too much exposure for not enough firepower/incisiveness. But I guess I'll just have to live with that because he shows no signs of changing his mind about that.

Still was good to see in the end how the boys can fight their way back into a tough match.

Wenger's selection have bearings on our midweek tie against Besiktas, let's not forget. It's a must win for us, so I thought it was good rotation by Wenger. Gave Giroud and Sanchez a half each and subbed Ox and Wilshere. We're gonna need those guys in good form come Wednesday.

+1

Complaining about the (obvious) offside is selfdelusion.
Martinez lost this match for Everton.

Superb run by Lukaku for that second goal, but Mertesacker looked bad.

And why did Wenger prefer Wilshere to Cazorla. Wilshere was abysmal, Cazorla great.
