Wilshare its just an other english kid who think its the best , overrated as Joe Hart and Walcott

I agree, although IMO Walcott isn't overrated IMO.
Wilshere was terribly today.
At some point in the second half he lost the ball around the middle line and just steppend back...an arrogant overrated litle idiot. Not good enough for Arsenal.

PS: Where was Cazorla ?

well Walcott was , all talking for him as he will win FIFA Ballon d'Or in 2010-12

I have noticed his arrogant attitude a while ago to this little prick I really dislike him now

For 6 months Wilshere was the best midfielder in England. He hasn't shown that since, but he was awesome a few years ago. Especially when you consider his age.

Tough match, needed to make things tighter. Both teams looked like they score at will, if Giroud was in Aguero's bracket of quality, Arsenal might well have drawn that 6-6!

Cmon now guys, saying Walcott is arrogant? If you say he's overrated, I'll partly agree with it. But his attitude on and off the pitch doesn't raise too many questions IMO.
One thing is sure: he's getting better and better. Let's not forget he came back from injury not long ago and today he scored a brace.
Now we need to recover Podolski to have that extra edge to our attack.
Giroud's been doing great for us, but he shows signs of being knackered (he may be our field player who gets more minutes) and signs of being not exactly World Class. He's a very good striker, but let's not be fooled by him starting ahead of Benzema in France's NT.
I think Giroud needs a good breather and I'm not sure Bendtner is ready to fill in. Although, to his credit, he had a good match against Hull and today scored a good goal wrongfully disallowed.

As for Wilshere, it's neither here or there. When it comes to his technical ability and sheer desire, he's excellent. He's not what the English media thinks he is because, let's be frank, most English players are overrated. But he's far from a fraud, the boy has pure talent in him.

As for his attitude, he needs to get it sorted ASAP. He's a hot head and a ticking bomb at times. He's the only Arsenal player that I can think of who's prone to let his team down at any moment by being sent off, doing what he did today and jeopardizing the club's image.

I think he should get punished by Wenger, by losing his place in the first XI for a while.

PS: I have no idea about Cazorla. Maybe it was illness? Lasagna? Who knows...

Watched the game again

and since apparently Wenger and some of the Arse fans are moaning...

Bendtner goal - offside. Close but being offside just a little bit doesn't make you onside.

Giroud 'goal' - onside but Kompany and co had gone for a cuppa and come back inbetween the whistle blowing and Giroud taking the shit. Calling that a 'disallowed goal' would be just sad.

Other offside calls - Monreal and Walcott were both wrongly judged to be offside but were in wide positions. Giroud twice wrongly judged to be onside- one being a one on one which he misscontrolled.

Negredo goal - err Rentboy, Zaba was infront of Negredo when he made the assist.

Penalty decision: Ball hits knee and rolls up onto Zaba's upper arm (which is by his side). Sometimes you get them if your arm is out there, esp. when stopping a shot on goal but this is even less of a so-called pen than the one we got against Dortmund.

What is funny is how Wenger says that Everton and Southampton were just as good as we were today. Still gracious in defeat, I see :SMUG:

Anyway, was a good game, probably game of the season. You might like this.

Can't say i disagree with Godotelli's last post.
There are certainly refs who would give a penalty for Zabaleta's "hands", but to me that is never a penalty. That was nothing more than an unlucky ricochet...
I wasn't the only one who thought so, the Belgian commentator also thought it was never a penalty.

I would have prefered Arsenal to win, but City was by far the better team.
I don't think this is catastrophe for Arsenal to be honest. This year it could be possible to become champion loosing against most of the big clubs, since the big clubs loose lots of points against the other clubs. City is a fine example of that. As long as Arsenal keeps winning those matches they are serious contenders for the title.

Anyone one us who gets their ass handed to them is not going to take it lightly, especially in the middle of it. Frustration is what it comes down too with all the players and the pictures we've seen after the game and rightfully so. Some people in hear saying Wilshere is not Arsenal quality should have their head examined, maybe twice to make sure.

The fact that City was able to make 8 changes in this game says plenty about their depth, and quality. Sickening, if your not a City fan. Been a long week, and I can say we will play a great game against Chelsea and get back on track. Without a doubt.

Liverpool, bye bye Cham..........oh wait you are not even in it are you? For some time now infact? My mind must have regressed a few years, I'm getting old!

we don't always play CL but when we do we make sure we are good enough to be there ,while you guys are playing there every season and never won it :P

honestly you guys were unlucky to face best team in the world right now , but its your fault too you should have finish 1st in group so you could be facing teams like Olympiacos!

anyway I'll be supporting you for 2 reasons , 1. I dislike Bayern more than u guys :P 2. Arsenal could be more busy playing CL so they can drop more points in EPL ;)

Arsenal lost the tie at home last year and showed great character away, I think the team is more mature and ready for a challenge like Bayern this time round.

if you can take something to defend into the 2nd leg or in reach if its home then I wouldn't be surprised if you progress.

Should be a great match...but...by February it's normally knee-deep in Arsenal injury crisis time, so that could decide it I'm afraid.

Hopefully not, would love you to knock out Bayern.

Only silver lining is that if you're really going to challenge for the title, being out of the CL could be beneficial. It's one of the reasons LFC look so good this year - no distractions and substantially less matches of football.

All depends who comes in the winter window. After the Chelsea match we can cruise through, but the injuries won't be the problem it's the lack of rotating players. That has to be the most difficult aspect as a manager. Özil needs to rotate w/ Cazorla sometimes. Jack is getting too many minutes and doesn't look fit enough. Theo has come in slowly and was good vs City .

Vermaelen is coming back and hopefully sitting on the bench will gies hope. Podi is rdy and I rather him upfront leading the line . Giroud needs to rejuvenate , he's battling air balls like a beast . He's more strength then clever. Although , titi said on tv he's very clever. Rotating will be key , we suffered the biggest injury list and maintain being on top. We might face the storm of fixture towards the end when things really matter.

I still think unless we play the games of our lives then we don't have a chance against Bayern.

Our team is good and sitting at the top of the league for now, but games against the bigger teams we still look far off the pace most of the time. Even against Dortmund we won away but we never played well and were under the cosh.

We basically can't go to a top team and expect to dominate or out play them basically we have to rely on luck, that our defense will play ok and hope that the opposition are not firing on all cylinders.

I know it sounds downbeat, I am truly thankful for where we are In the league and how we have got there and think our team is much better than it was, but I still don't think we match up to the bigger teams at the moment.

This is what it is all about though :-) hopefully we can play the games of our lives because when we do click and it all works we can be devestating.

Arsenal are probably even worse than City at getting the ball back. It's going to be very tough. It is possible tho, their CBs aren't all that and Arsenal have shown away at Dortmund that they can be patient and score when it matters.

Utd are definitely through, Chelsea are probably through, it would be nice if both Arse and City surprise a few people and make it into the quarters as well. An all english Semi final affair ftw! :P

Let's admit it. This is the Arsenal that we love. Sitting on top of the table, demolishing all standing in our way is not the Arsenal style.

The Arsenal we love is the one that concedes unexplainable and awkward goals, lacks any defensive tooth in the midfield, attacks without direction and determination, loses its first place in its CL Group on the last match day due to poor motivation, gets eliminated from tournies, has its squad weakness exposed due to untimely injuries and poor transfer decisions, and most importantly fails to show up on all critical games against big opponents.

Just wrote this for humor. :) I'm still happy with the team and everything they've accomplished. I still think we will have a good season. (Even though, we will probably lose against Chelsea as well. Then all hell will break lose and the media will declare another 'Arsenal Crisis'. But after that I'm sure we will recover our form to an extent.)

Arsenal and the Champions League... what can I say? We got the current champions Bayern for a 2nd time in a row in the last 16! And even when we do top our group, we end up facing some team of the calibre of Milan, like we did (and lost to).

It's uncanny! haha

But Wenger will look at that game at Naples and will be disappointed with the team and himself. You'd expect the Premier League leaders to be able to hold even a good team like Napoli to a draw. But our team was poor, and I suspect they were sitting on that advantage and got complacent. There was definitely some misjudgement there and we're paying the price now straight away.

Honestly, I'm more worries about the league. I feel we are a couple levels behind challenging the CL. But I thought with a good draw we could make it further into the tournament than previously, and that would have been exciting. Well, not all hope is lost. Regardless of Bayern's complacency, we did beat them 2-0 in Germany and ended up losing the tie on aggregate score, which is fantastic result. This year the team is significantly better so we will see what happens. (In addition, this year they seem one notch less undefeatable?)

To round off what I said...

The league, however, I think we really have a chance to win it this season. We might not get a chance like this in a long while. Unfortunately for us, Man City seems to get better week after week. And even though Chelsea seem less than spectacular that is the way Mourinho's teams always play. I'm almost 100% sure they will be there till the end with that squad. I just can't imagine Jose letting it slip away from him.

Hopefully for us, Man City's might take a setback due to Aguero's injury (best of wishes for him).

We have to defeat Chelsea if we want to win the league period. This set of players need to prove they can win when it really depends on it. (Dortmund games don't count, because the group was up for grabs till the last game day as evident).

So far, we've lost all crucial games (Man U and Man City), and failed to capitalize on competitors' point losses and stretch our lead when we could (WBA and Everton). This is what we mean when we say we keep shooting ourselves in the foot.

i.e. Wenger, you have to buy in Winter. Just look at MC and Chelsea's squad. Crazy...

The trouble is there aren't that many good players available in the winter transfer period.

Also if you keep comparing our squad to Man City and Chelsea I'm afraid you are always going to be dissapointed. They can buy 4 Ozils a year if they want to.

We do have to beat Chelsea if we are to still be considered for the title, another straight loss to our rivals would be very bad. Even if we drew it wouldn't be great but acceptable, but losing at home will be very bad.

Bobby, i agree with you that usually there aren't that much good players available during the january transfer window. This year is different though. There are good players that want to go to the WC and that want to play more (Belgium has that problem: De Bruyne, Vermaelen, Defour, Alderweireld, Mertens, Dembele are all players that would like to play more, this should also be the case for other foreign players). There might be a couple of bargains in the next transfer window.

Rentboy, it is no shame to loose against Napoli. I know that before the match against Arsenal, Napoli had a bad patch, but they have a very good team. Sunday i watched them against Inter and they were very good.
Arsenal were in a avery tough group...the fact that they ended second is already a big achievement. It is fair to say that Bayern Munchen is the best team in Europe, but there are encouraging signs for Arsenal: Arsenal was very good last year in the away leg against Bayern and City also beat them...it will be difflicult, but Arsenal do have a chance to beat Bayern.
