Arsenal Thread

Fans will react in all kinds of ways. When Gotze switched to Bayern there were fans burning his shirts and protesting against it, the same way. And probably hating and verbally abusing him too. If not worse, which I wouldn't doubt.

It's a bit rich from you, coming here suggesting your fans "dealt with it" gracefully.

And what if Gotze left airing dirty laundry, undermining the work of the manager who had always believed in him, and saying Dortmund doesn't win stuff and is mismanaged, and he wants to move to win stuff?

I just don't get why is it so difficult to understand the difference? When a player leaves quietly like Clichy and Touré, even if to another English club, fans leave them alone. Nasri said some stuff and got some stick, but now the fans kind of got off his back. Adebayor got stick because he made a case of celebrating a goal for City in front of the Arsenal fans (running to the opposite side of the pitch to do so). Fabregas left to his home club, he wanted to go home and he's fine on any Arsenal fan's book.

There are different reactions and different degrees. But no doubt what Van Persie did was the worst, stabbed the manager and the club in the back and, therefore, is a massive massive cunt.

Now I am not all the Dortmund supporters am I?
Show me a single post where I've uttered a negative word against Götze or anyone else leaving the club, please...
I never said "we" were any better, I clearly insinuated that I am though. I am not "we" unless you've got severe beer goggles on...

I speak for myself, and myself alone. Way to go on the argument dude, using someone else's faults as mine to gain the upper hand?

Weak...

I'm sure that if there were dirty laundry to be aired, it would be aired. These things doesn't appear out of thin air usually. I bet van Persie's words were right on the mark and that's what pissed certain people off.

I'm not a fan of United, van Persie or Arsenal. I just don't see any reason to verbally abuse and attack players like this, there is no point and it makes the human race look as stupid as it probably is. Not implying that I have anything against them either, I simply don't pay them any attention unless I am watching them play an entertaining match. Just saying, so you don't think I'm biased one way or another here.

We have no problem with fans moving teams
Clearly I haven't been reading because I was sure van Persie is a player not a fan...

Go ahead and point out all my faults and errors, I'm sure they'll justify your hatred. Whatever makes you sleep at night.

Maybe it's just me after years of seeing players grab the quick buck and the influx of oil-rich billionaires but seeing something like RvP's move (or Rooney's angling for a move for another example) doesn't bother me anymore.

I don't hold footballers as paragons of virtue or see them having an obligation to show loyalty to their club, given the amount of power agents and players hold in football these days.

Losing Pogba was annoying but I don't resent his decision or his agent seeing an opportunity to make more money for himself in Turin. Maybe I've just become desensitised to it all.

Zerothehero you don`t comprehend anything ! you read words and your thought seem to go further then what is being said. I had an issue w/ you once . You commented on my post w/ something that had nothing to do w/ what I said. You felt the need to just argue for no apparent reason. A WUM = whind up merchant.

So in your book "fuck van Persie" is "Good luck chap!" then?

I see...

"2 team league" is a complement too?

You're strange...

I think you just don't like when you get caught being shallow and make it all sound like a big misunderstanding as a protection mechanism. Sure, blame me... Like I said earlier, whatever makes you sleep at night.

So... Yep, you're better. You're the man, aren't you? Thanks for enlightening us.
It just so happens that you're not that good at interpreting stuff. Did I refer directly to you in that post about Dortmund fans?

It surprises me that you, such a keen observer, came here to reprimand us for our (justified) reaction to a player leaving in such a controversial way as if this kind of reaction was an outrageous thing that doesn't happen anywhere else. If you're trying to understand this uncanny phenomenon, look at your own fans reacting to Gotze leaving. That was my point. And mind you, Gotze probably didn't do 20% of what RvP did to force his transfer.

Now I don't know what goes on in your head, I'm not a mind reader and, believe me, I won't be searching for your posts and reading them, as I got much better things to do.
But I'll tell you what: if Gotze left blasting your club, manager and board in that same way, I honestly think that even your magnanimous self wouldn't find it in your heart to forgive him.

Also, from your post I got the impression that you think it's ok for a player to air dirty laundry in public and expose their club like that. But it doesn't fit with the righteous image you project of yourself here :P Not the classiest thing to do, is it?
Doesn't matter if it's on or off the mark, these things you just keep to yourself, especially if there was a manager like Wenger, who supported you no matter what.

Anyway, the point is everybody has a limit. This whole saga went over most Arsenal fans limits. If a player did exactly the same at your club and you said you wouldn't dislike him for it, then I'm sorry but it just stinks of hypocrisy.

Oh I'm sorry Rentboy, I didn't know I had to provide evidence that I said the very same thing to my fellow Dortmund supporters when a similar situation occurred. To be honest I actually thought YOU had the brains to figure out my standpoint when I spelled it out plainly. Just to comfort you, yes I say the same things to them because I don't see any point wasting time and effort talking dirt about someone who isn't interesting for the club anymore and because it's not a very nice thing to do in the first place.

I think it's OK for a player to present his version of the truth, likewise the club has their right to defend themselves. When a player is unhappy, it's healthy to get it out in the open rather than bottling it up.

You can't really accuse me of being a hypocrite when I clearly represent the same view regardless of club and player involved. It's always fun to see "what if" scenarios being invented and it is a sign of someone grasping at straws. If Götze had anything to vent publicly from his Dortmund career, I am sure he would've done it. RvP did and I applaud him for it, unless it all turns out to be lies which would reflect really badly upon him retrospectively.

If he really was fed empty promises and all that stuff then he is within his rights to complain. Publicly is always better, too much is going on behind closed doors nowadays.

Lastly, I am not WUM-ing at all. You clearly feel you have a god given right to tell RvP to go fuck himself for different reasons and I say you don't. It's as simple as that. If you get wound up by that, then that's not my problem.

YouTube - F*ck You RVP (Arsene Wenger remix)

Classy... go Gunnerblog! Stupidity incarnated. "Fuck you" shouldn't be used for fun. It's contaminating the language.

I'm shallow for saying RM are sitting 3rd in a 2 team league? Are we insulting members in the community? Is this where you are being subjective. I'm a shallow person for calling La Liga a 2 team league?

I never attacked you , nor have I made comments up and called it 'mines' . You won't last in this community long enough to even trying to reason with you. Funny vid btw

I think we should leave Zero in his own little world for now. I don't know about you, but I'm bored of it all.

What about he weekend? It will be tough, but at the Emirates we have to win. From their previous games it looks like they will come to play and not sit back, which hopefully will be in our favour.

We need to get a good run going December is going to be tough.

Yeah yeah, go ahead and tell people they're fuckers and all that. It will bring your life so much joy and happiness, and set the standard for the coming generations; The world is a fucked up place.

Your posts are a joke thats why.

Bobby is one of the coolest person here and for him to slate you means something is terribly wrong with you.

Even i have tried my best to annoy bobby in the past but it diddnt work lol ;) :) :LMAO:

Hahaha so true! I love the bob , although he defense Wenger til the hilt. He has my respect for optimism :)
This zero bloke seem to pick argument w so many ppl I never said 'Fuck 'RVP . I'm an open book...I take nothing personal I don't need help looking bad . I've done it on my own for years.

Bobby is a very patient fella indeed and it takes some doing to make him lose his temper.

Zero, if you were preaching the same things to the Dortmund fans I can imagine you're just as popular with them as you're in here

What you've been posting now about the use of the F word is just plain boring
But don't single us out, or Gunnerblog for that matter. There's a whole entertainment industry you can aim your righteous crusade at.

I'll be damned if we are to live in a world where you can't vent a bit of frustration, say the F word now and then and have fans of other clubs come to this thread telling us we can't hate a sneaky cunt as RvP.

It's not as if we want to talk about the bastard all the time. I reckon we're still talking about it because the league stopped for the international fixtures.

About time we move on from that to Southampton at the Grove. Won't be an easy one! Pochettino is doing a great job with that team. And there were many doubters when he took over from Atkinson.

Well, Jack is not injured as the media has said. Theo the pacey one is back!!! Per is back according to his lone goal in mid week for the Mighty Germans. We're facing a top 3 team at home, I pray for 3 Pts to take a boost for Napoli in mid week.

Walcott could be important against Southampton - he forces their back line to stay honest and not push up and compress things. Giroud doesn't offer the in behind threat really.

Should be a great match, personally looking forward to that more than the Merseyside derby.

We're playing Marseille first ;)
