Yup great goal, great volley, great win!

Song has really improved as a player. He impresses me all the time now. This is his season as much as van Persie's. Others like Walcott are better than before but still have a LONG way to go and lots to improve.

Song and van Persie are KEY to this team now though and probably the first 2 names on the team sheet.

Don't forget Vermaelen, his agility gives us so much stability in the defence, no
matter if he is playing as Center Back or Left Back.

Yep Vermaelen, Song and Van Persie providing a solid spine of the team. Something we have been lacking over recent years, because of injuries mainly, hopefully we can keep them fit.

Song will be off in January for ACN, but I am confident Frimpong and the Coq can clooectively fill in for him while he is away....hopefully.

Just saw the match and that goal.
I have to admit..
about Robin Van Persie
i think
that maybe

i was wrong...

he created a goal out of nothing...
conclusion:
he is world class.

Beautiful assist by Song once again...Vermaelen, Song and Van Persie clearly are the important players in this team.

Remember the 8-2 defeat agaist man Utd? Seeing both teams play now, i think that there is a chance that Arsenal might end above Man Utd.

Man United are so strong mentally, I would never write them off ever, still a very long way to go. Hopefully they can finish the season like we usually do and we can finish it like they usually do :))

Game against City is huge, if we lose it won't be that devestating, but if we win it could be amazing for us and give the team belief to continue over the tough xmas period and beyond.

Great goal! Van Persie is really proving his skills. He's done the final leap and is performing again and again. Avoiding injuries finally show the class he's got. Good for the gunners.

As Gerd says, I don't see why Arsenal can't end in the top 3 at the end of the season if they keep growing and taking the chances. And don't forget Arsenal is in CL, while MAnchester teams aren't. How quickly can football turn the tables? That's why we love this sport!

Arsenal is doing great especially having the worse start in about 70 years. Won the group to CL, sitting 4th atm from 17th ,but we have a nasty habit it`s called 2nd half to the season, We suffer like no other. We could be sitting on top w/ 10 pts leading. Then, btw Jan-March drop like a virus and find our self behind 3rd spot :COAT:

The league is long and mentally so hard. Playing through the winter it`s like the 8 round in boxing trying to rest in btw rounds to knockout your opponent in the 12th. I didn`t expect us to do so well, RVP is a beast and having Gervinho n Theo not scoring ,but tracking back to help defend and they really do it`s a different style of play. I think Arshavin fails only because the amount of running the energy leaves you flat and that equal to Arshavin`s form. No fullbacks all 4 are completely gone  cant buy any either will be daft to buy there not dead just injured . So to respond about passing MUTD they have a nack like bob said they are resting btw the rounds . Blood n swolleness for mutd is not enough they will right hook ya in a split second them fuckers! Let`s not mention MUTD until April and even then let`s not.

the CL might benefit Manchester and slow down Arsenal though.

the devastating fact is that Chamakh is away with Morocco for the ACN.

we really need some more creativity / a goalscorer (though no one can guarantee that). this can be solved via: another center forward, or ALANS = Jack's Back; but I'd sell Arshavin (to get something while he's still worth something) and buy a good winger. Yeah, I know the jokes about Arsene solving all problems by buying wingers, but we need to threaten the oposition more and nothing from the bench can provide that really.

I think one of the contributing factors to a better, more united, cohesive Arsenal this year is that RVP is undoubtedly a MUCH better CAPTAIN than Cesc.

Just a few points from the game. I only got to watch the highlights.

-Koscielny seems to be much better than before. Couple of highlights that I have watched this season, he always seems to catch my eye with important challenges and critical moves.

-I know it's a little silly, but am I the only one who thinks Vermaalen looks a little like Eminem? Very similar hairstyles and almost identical eyes.

-Wasn't Almunia off on loan? I'm pretty sure I saw him on the bench.

-And all this without one of the most promising and talented players of the team. Wilshere!

Koscielny can be excellent, he outstanding in that win over Barca last season. Just needs to iron out a few concentration errors.

I suspected Wilshere wouldn't be missed too much given the quality replacements you have in that area of the pitch.

disagree they struggled early on without him (and Fabregas obviously) but have slowly improved as Ramsay has grown into the role.

They've bought of a lot of wide players but none really offer much a goal threat.

Ahead of Friday's draw these are the teams you can draw:

Napoli, CSKA, Basle, Lyons, Leverkusen, Zenit, Milan

However it's not an even chance of any of the seven. Of the other top finishers, Bayern cannot play Leverkusen (as well as Napoli) and Inter cannot play Napoli and Milan (as well as CSKA) - so statistically you are more likely to draw Napoli, Milan and Leverkusen than CSKA, Basle, Lyons or Zenit.

As long as we stay away from Napoli, Milan, Leverkusen and Lyon (I might aswell put the rest!) then hopefully we will be ok :PP

I would say that Basel and Lyons would be your best bet. I wouldnt fancy your chances against Napoli, and Leverkusen and Milan can be dangerous. CSKA and Zenit are good teams on paper you should be a match for them, but that record of yours in the former USSR isnt too good. Basel would be hard to breakdown, but with the attacking players you have you would be in with a good chance. I think you should be able to beat Lyonnais with consummate ease.

I'm not as sure about that and think Leverkusen would be your best bet.

But yeah I wouldn't fancy your chances against Milan, Napoli, CSKA or Zenit so yeah I'd probably go for OL as 2nd or 3rd most favourable draw.

Blinking Heck, we are going to have to play very well that is for sure if we are to stand any chance.

At least Stef will be able to watch the game at the Emirates.
