Arsenal Thread

heard/read alot from gooners over the past few days and to those keeping your heads up and backing the manager/team/club, much kudos,

it was a freakish result...

we have been showed lessons in football with our full squad on the pitch, a couple of times buy AFC, which has reasonated with me more than sundays game, like someone else posted, just 3 points...

and you can say, unequivocally, no one is gonna put 8 past you for a long long long time.

i really wanna see the gooners pushing for the title at least top four (which is all ANY of us can ask for) and think a few teams are gonna feel the backlash from sunday (please be city lol)

Peace.

That is a very classy post Vann...respect.

About Mertesacker: IMO he is a donkey, but maybe Arsenal need a no nonsense defender like him...until now they had way too many so-called "class" defenders...

Park normally has to do his military service when he's 28 years old. That was a major issue in France when Lille wanted to buy him. In the end Lille made a move, butr were beaten by it by Arsenal. This makes me think that there is a solution. On the other hand, South-Korea is a nation that is permanently in state of semi-war. They only changed this rule for the team that was third in the 2002 WC...

Don't know a lot about Mertesacker, but The Guardian said he's one of the cleanest tacklers in German Bundesliga, and one of the defenders with less yellow cards.

I'm pretty much optimistic about him, because we need a giant like that who's also capable of organising a defence. Plus, he's a captain at Bremen, a natural leader.

Way better than Cahill I think. Cahill's no better than Koscielny IMO.

Mertsacker is a captain and so is Chu-Young (for his country). People wanted more leaders on the pitch....

Mertesacker is a great defender and as you said a very clean tackler. Last season he was not so good because of injury but with full fitness he is way better than Koscielny. The only problem is that Merte is not the fastest defender, he will have problems with counter attacks.

I still want Arsenal to sign Cahill is or not he better than Koscielny!Becouse Squillaci is way out , isnt even considered as as sub for last games!Djourou is more like DMF so we still need 1 CB!

Moreover if we dont sign him Spurs could!!

With not the fastest I mean on the first meters he is not very fast, he needs a bit time to get to his full speed which is very good. That's why I said counter attack problems can happen like at Werder Bremen happen a lot. But the positive thing is that he is very strong in the air and off course a very good defender, way better than Koscielny, will help our defence a lot, I hope. :)

Looks like we are making some good signings, why couldn't we have done this a month ago?!
you know why Bob, Looks like everyone is showing their cards and a month ago everyone kept shutting their doors .3 players almost in Santos taking some time  .Looks like Renne realizes that Arsenal spend 18m on 3 players and know there is 40m still floating I say 25m M`vila 5 yr deal and give RVP,Sagna,Verm a bonus and buy jack a new car for his mum.

My thoughts exactly. Why did it take a beating of massive proportion to get this done. We might have been able to hang onto Nasri( Albeit, sign him to a new contract, not just keep him until next year when it runs out) if Wenger would have taken his thumb out his arse sooner.

Forget Nasri :PP

Sounds like M'vila might cost around 30mil  can you imagine Wenger spending that? if he does I will need to sit down. I hope he does though, spend all of the fucking money and lets get on it!

I'm thinking in terms of still having somewhat of a play maker. I do agree with you, forget Nasri. We still need a player with some creativity in midfield though. I hope we get someone. I'm getting excited just thinking about it.

M`Vila is a player we need for a very long time more important then a attacking player. We lack a defensive player that breaks up plays for a very long time . scoring was never our problem. Arshavin would be a new player if he would give all his efforts in attacking. Every ttime he comes to semi-defend that takes all the energy out of him :P

atm we our link with every player in different positions. I imagine Clubs from abroad are calling US :CONFUSE: do we want _______. We need this much €_ or we`ll take this £_ much

makes ya wonder if Wenger knew MUTD would do us in so the board will panic from fan fury. I thought it took us 2weeks to sign a player now, it`s a phone call at night a plane ride in the morning and sign the dotted line.

BEnyaoun is a ecent playmaker from out wide or the middle if we go for him though lightweight if we get some other solid players in it will be ok.

But he has been linked with loads of winger types....Hazard, Ayew, Martin etc

Also as said add some solid defensive minded midfleiers will allow Arshavin to be more attack minded

Very simple it took the Aguero transfer to unblock the market for the big teams. On top of that Arsenal was in the weakest negotiating position because it was clear to everybody that they were the big team that were most desperate to renew their squad (and some Arsenal fans that boo-ed the team are also to blame for that: they made it very obvious that Arsenal had to do something).

Marvin Martin is definitely not a winger type, he's CMF/AMF.

now just put the cash for M'Vila and swap Bendtner for Arteta!!
Although i dont understand why the fuck M'Vila costs 30 mil i would consider about 15-20mil!!

Looks like Cahill is out of reach!

We seem to have an excess of simialr type attacking minded players and not enough workers/defenders

Van Persie-Walcott-Gervinho-PArk-Chamach-chamberlain-Arshavin-rosicky-

All can play in final 3rd.

So we should be sorted there though I Say we still miss an Adeybnor goalscoring strong powerful forward type

M'Vila is a cracking player and i think its due to fact people know arsenal in desperate need for midfielders so they'll try get as much out as possible
