Park normally has to do his military service when he's 28 years old. That was a major issue in France when Lille wanted to buy him. In the end Lille made a move, butr were beaten by it by Arsenal. This makes me think that there is a solution. On the other hand, South-Korea is a nation that is permanently in state of semi-war. They only changed this rule for the team that was third in the 2002 WC...

Just a quick correction. South Korea was 4th in the 2002 world cup after losing to Turkey in the 3rd place match.

Also, I think there have been more recent exemptions as well. Mainly, the players on the national team get a chance for exemption I believe.

As for Honda, he's pretty good, but won't we have to many attackers? Not that I would mind though :)

M'Vila, suddenly this guy appears to cost almost a Cesc Fabregas. Is he really that good? Is it really worth? I dunno....

We are in that position though of them knowing we got paid 35mill for Cesc and 25mill for Nasri and we are desperate and he has about 4 years left on his contract. so if we want him we are going to have to pay silly money unfortunately.
 
I would be very happy about Honda but its not true!!

Honda's agent rules out Arsenal move - "Is it reported that Keisuke is in London? This is not true. He's in Japan with his national team. He won't sign anywhere, it's sure that he stays at CSKA."

Besides he is injured!

But that's prohibitive! I wouldn't be happy with that. It's already understood that we sold Cesc on the cheap, so would be terrible to use that money to pay over the odds for a DMF.

I have to admit I know nothing about this M'Vila guy, is he really that sensational? Is he really a must?
I'm not a club scout or anything, but I'm taking the fact that I know nothing of him as a sign that he's not spectacular.
 
Yes I agree we need one good DMF. He's a France international, so he must be good. But at £30m? I'm not sure... They got us by the balls, so they're setting the price way up.
But we most definitely needed cover in that position, cause we know Song will be at the African Nations Cup in Jan.

It looks like Park, Santos and Mertesacker will be it. But that's pretty good, since it looked like we were signing no one else.
 
Arteta is class, I wrote a long post over on Redcafe about him being the perfect 'value' answer to United's midfield problem. And he still is, even though people are happily getting carried away with Ando/ Cleverley.

Talks now are about Arteta for £10m (or Bendtner plus cash) or Benayoun on loan.

I agree a DMF is a must, but we simply can't pay £30m for M'Vila.

BBC tells Gary Cahill now is a targer for them Spu*s and that he could have come to Arsenal for just over £10m. I still think it's too much and we're covered with Mertesacker now.
 
Arsenal don't really need an Arteta? Wilshire and Ramsay are capable of the deep passing role. A Gourcuff type of player is needed.
 
We need a new Viera? We need like a Diego Simone, emerson, roy keane...etc.

Why didnt we go for Bryan Ruiz he is tall and realy knows how to score and looks like every one is after him(Fulham,Newcastle,Sunderland)!!

Today I'm not stressed anymore. Today's the deadline! I'm actually happy we got 3 new players in this window, as I thought we were getting no one else in! :D
I'm quite pleased with the defensive additions.

But do you know what really is shit? To leave all that business for the last day. We knew what we needed, and one of these needs was a new DMF. We knew that way before Fabregas left. And after he went, we still had some 3 weeks to do business... So here we are, low-balling Everton for Arteta (even though I thought it was a decent bid) and trying to get Benayoun on loan. Oh well...
 
I wouldn't mind Benayoun on loan, be good to have an Israeli in the team, so when I go and live there, there will be more chance of me seeing an Arsenal game :DD
