Arsenal Thread

Arsenal have not shown any differences from 6 years ago until now. still play exact same way and still make exact same mistakes that costs us games

I cannot believe any fan is hurt more than Wenger. I watched the Sky post-matched interview and in the middle he was sigh-ing, taking it very very hard.
Asked about new staff additions he smiled irronically and said the performance can't be put on the staff. telling about how he feels about the squad and some players and maybe not a good sign about he still doesn't think he should change or bring some staff.
maybe his right maybe his wrong. i see it like this: if he managed to make an invincible squad seasons ago, he could make a good squad again. i was certain of this, but this ending crash on top of the other seasons past make me wonder if he really can?
next season his make it or break it for him.

i've noticed RvP has gray hair... strange.

its a dutch thing they age bad :P I thought Robben was 42 not realizing he`s actuaclly 27 ;)

I agree Wenger looks shattered , summer is already starting different for Wenger. NO AUSTRIA ! He is not in control as he was before. CHINA lol

I think this season is different in that ALOT more fans are getting extremely pissed off with the team. I think Wenger is Extremely pissed off aswell, so this is why I think there will be changes.

It is a huge summer and season for us coming up and I think we will react.

If Wenger doesn't react to what has happened then he will definately be out of the club at the end of next season if not by leaving himself, then by fans calling for him to be sacked.

I think Wenger is just as dissapointed in the team and they have let him down in some respects, but then he has let them down aswell by misreading the situation and not strengthening in areas sooner.

I really think we will make changes this summer...if we don't and we have a similar season next season, then of course even then I will think it is time for Wenger to move on and that is saying something :DD

I think we have just as much chance as any of the teams around us as strengthening and getting stronger, we just need to do it this time and not hold back.

I agree with Bobby, that if Wenger does not make big changes this summer, he should go...Until then, he deserves some credit.

I realy think this is the time for us to buy because now whent there wil be Financial Fair Play rules we can take advantage and the big spenders as Man City, Chelsea and Bracelona wouldnt disturb us!!

anyone else heard the rumour of wenger bein pushed "upstairs"?another ridiculous one doin the rounds is he might be off to roma?

The idea of him having a directorial role when he steps down sounds plausible. Him assisting a younger manager (Blanc?) is probably what'll happen eventually. Can't see him managing another club though.

That alone is a very big tribute to Wenger.
The worst case scenario is that Arsenal will end 4th...a big catastrophe indeed.
Or you can flip it the other way and say they've gone from a possible league and league cup double to possibly qualifying for the Champions League group stage play-off.

Not seen anything but he's 4/1 to not be at the helm in August and one of your worse seasons in 16 years has to be the wake up call...

Such a thin line to being the best and the worst though and when you look at it in a more rounded way it isn't that bad.

If we had won the Carling cup it would automatically have been our best season in 6 years? so one fuck up in defence cost us that really.

We got beaten by a team that is described as the best ever in the champions league and we have come 4th in the league. Fa cup we should have done better in, but we got beaten by the team that has won the league and is in the champions league final.

So if this is our worst season in 16 years it shows how lucky we are to be supporting this team.

It just depends how you look at it all. Ask Harry Redknapp and this is the greatest season ever for Tottenham, but he has done worse in every aspect, apart from the champs league?

It is such a dissapointing season because it could have been so much better and they let us down.

I would jump with joy if wenger left this summer

a complete revolution in styles at the club since he took over...

the guys vision alone is worth keeping his job... vision of walking the ball to the net and not giving a fuck about defending set pieces?

a complete revolution in styles at the club since he took over...

Again, walking the ball to the net? poor mans barcelona is what springs in mind

a wonderful atadium...
That will see attendance drop dramatically the longer Wenger continues to piss about at arsenal

i could go on dude...
enlighten me with more reasons why he should stay

but out of interest who would you have replace him?

Morinho, riddick, rikard, martin o niell etc etc. i can name loads of managers who would do a much better job then wenger. This "current wenger is no better then stokes manager.

Most managers in the PL would have fixed arsenals achillies heels i'e defending set pieces in less then 6 years :LMAO:

6 years on and wenger still cant fix that. nevermind about buying world clas players and rating the likes of denilson and bender good enough to be playing for a top club competing for the biggest prize, but cant even train our defenders to defend a set piece?

It was sarcasm abou...
Not every club can be extremely successfull like United. Most United fans take all this success for granted which it isn't (if Man Utd would ever be 5 or 6 years without silverware, some of their most high profile fans would stop supporting the club, and i'm not speaking about you Abou).

I've made that point before, gerd and it's one way of looking at it. They've consistently finished in the top four year in, year out under Wenger whereas prior they'd been quite inconsistent in that respect. Football fans are fickle in nature though, so I don't know if the majority would look at things from that perspective.

I think the problem is how stagnant Arsenal have become and that's probably the most frustrating thing about being an Arsenal fan. They're not going backwards as a club but they're not making much progress either, which calls into question Wenger's policy of relying almost solely on young players, the point of which is that the team as a whole is supposed to improve in correlation with the development of these young players.

I`m not fussed about 4th spot . If, anything it puts more pressure on Wenger and the board to make changes . We won`t face Lyon in qualifiers . We are seeded higher for that, MCity could face a tougher opponent if they were in 4th spot.

Whether you're seeded or not depends on your UEFA co-efficient, so you lot should be seeded in the play-off if you finish 4th.

Hopefully you lot beat Fulham and City drop points at Bolton because it would be hilarious to see unseeded City get a tough draw like Bayern or Villarreal and get knocked out.

Van Persie 'to end his career with Arsenal'

Arsene Wenger will offer Robin van Persie a five-year deal to keep the Dutch striker at Arsenal for the rest of his career

Arsenal want to avoid such uncertainty with Van Persie and the Dutch forward will be offered a deal to put him on a par with Arsenal captain Cesc Fabregas, who is on around £90,000-a-week.
