So with Kaka and Ronaldo now at Real Madrid, they will have some selling to do. Names like Robben, V. Nistelrooy, Huntelaar, Sneijder, Higuain...

I just wonder how much would Huntelaar cost Arsenal in case Wenger decides to get rid of Ade and go shopping. Wouldn't mind that at all.

Not bad at all. But we are packed with offensive midfielders as it is. When (if) Rosicky returns I still wonder how Wenger will play the likes of Nasri, Arshavin, Fabregas, Walcott, etc.
 
Huntelaar wouldn't work at Arsenal, he's not good enough on the ball, Ruud though would be amazing for any team. They won't sell Higuain.

IMO Mamadou is too average. I mean he's a really great defensive midfielder but when it comes to the passing game he's really helpless.

The new guy in midfield definitely needs to bring support to Fabregas in his playmaking duties. I believe this is one of the problems of the team. Sometimes, it is just too much for Fabregas to control the midfield by himself. That's why I said Sneijder. He would be good in a 4-3-3 with Fabregas and a DMF in the middle. But of course this is all fantasy.

i think a purely defensive midfielder would work fine, the flamini/fabregas partnership was one of the best in the premiership that season. they controlled the midfield in almost every game they played.
 
Bendtner scored 15 goals last season.

To put that in context, thats the same amount as Drogba, three MORE than Henry, six more than £30m Berbatov and just one less than Kaka.

Kind of makes you think. He's still raw but how many 21 year old strikers have that kind of return? His attitude has put some people off and he's got an 'arrogant' tag on him now but personally as long as he does the business I couldn't care less if he was a 'lovely bloke' or not.

I for one hope he gets more starts.

And yup, 9 LEAGUE goals for Berba, 14 overall. Still one less than Nic though...

just comparing him with the likes of Henry, Berbatov or Drogba without beeing ridiculous proves a whole lot.

Felipe Melo and Vermaelen are close to beeing signed. looks like AW is really looking for a DMF and a CB. i have my questions abt Vermaelen, but Melo would be great!
 
Not really sure what you mean by that mate. Numbers speak for themselves: Drogba: 15 goals, Bendtner 15 goals.

Now, I don't think anyone would venture the opinion that Nic is anywhere near as complete as some of the top strikers in the world, but with a pretty impressive return rate at 21 years old, does he really deserve the level of ire that comes from a certain section of Arsenal 'fans'?
 
I'd definatly be trying to make a deal with real madrid to get diarrah and maybe hunterlaar or van der vart or sneijder for some money and clinchy.

Bendtner only got 9 league goals, the same as Berbatov.

I think this proves more that Berbatov was shite last season rather than Bendtner being class.

To be fair the lad is capable of scoring and could go on to be a quality striker, but i think he wastes more chances than he scores at the minute. Saying that i think he'll probably get more goals than Adebayor next season.
 
He's a useful player who lacks composure but he's a big aerial threat. I think nearly half of his goals must have come from headers.
 
I think he's already quite good and has the potential to be really good. He's got a really bad rep for various reasons and has turned into one of those players who gets critised by everyone regardless of how he plays.

Some of his movement and off the ball runs are quite intelligent for a guy his age and I think that his strike rate is impressive considering he's third/fourth choice behind RvP, Adebayor and when he's fit Eduardo.

Yeah he lacks composure and misses chances but getting booed by your own fans will only make that worse and I think people forget he only turned 21 in January.
