Fulham up next, will Nicky B or Robbie Van P start? Can't wait to see Vela too!!! I think he's going to be bigger than anyone at Arsenal, give it a year or two.
 
So Ade has signed a new deal, lets hope we can all pull in the same direction now. If he can score 25+ goals again then he will be forgiven. Time for the booing to stop.

Dermot, I think RVP will start at Fulham up top with Adebayor. I agree with you on Vela he is going to be one hell of a player!
 
Do you lot rate Vela higher than Walcott? Wenger said he was going to play CF this season but it seems he's still regarded as a RM.

come on man how can you rate vele? let us see what his made of in the premiership/champions league then we can make a fair judgement.

im not saying his bad, im not saying his good either. all im saying is that i myself dont know much about him YET as i have yet to see him play againts a physical premiership side or even a top european.

well he played real madrid and barca and villareal twice last year
 
I've been tracking Vela for about 3 years and I can safely say he's going to be one of the biggest stars in the Premiership if he gets his chance and stays there.
 
2005 FIFA U-17 World in Peru, 1st time I saw Vela (golden boot winner) even Denilson looked sharp and Anderson was on another level

I think he's still got something to offer, as long as he stays injury free, that's his only problem really.

He's good on the left and at centreback so will be good cover for you guys there, although I just read that apparently he's not being signed as cover but as a replacement to play alongside Gallas.. but where does that leave Kolo? Surely he won't be switched to midfield permanently?:SS
 
Why the hell are there rumours about Arsenal after Silvestre. Hes 31 for christsakes!! I hope its just rumours!! and I've read that he'll be the cover for Clichy. I would prefer Traore anyday.
 
Judging by Kolo's preformances since the ANC, i think Silvestre would be better in the middle with Gallas.

Would help kick Kolo in the ass and get him back up to speed.

He's better than Djourou and Senderos at least, and provides us with good back up for Clichy if needed.

Just waiting on the DMF now - i hope to hell it's not Eboue.
 
Arsenal need experienced players. Especially defender should be experienced so he can be familiar with all tricks attackers have. :)

i honestly don't think age would matter, he most likely isn't gonna be starting much this season, so what's wrong with a little more depth at the back? he's experienced in league play and in europe, he knows what it's like to play for silverware and best of all it was on the cheap... and like others have said, he's bound to be better than senderos atm...
 
^i personally don't think this was what Wenger had in mind, this was probably just a little something extra that happened rather quickly... after all, he's not a midfielder and that's what we've been looking for...
 
Yea, Wenger said its going to be before the return leg of FC Twente. yeah and i seriously hope that after buying Silvestre, Wenger doesnt decide to put Eboue in the middle. We'll be doomed!!
 
i think Kolo will be played as a DMF. against WBA when toure was brought in Djourou didn't move up, he remained a CB and Kolo Toure played as a DMF.
i'd want a DMF, but i don't think AW will buy anyone else.

for fucks sake play Kolo or Diaby with Cesc, or anyone else, not Eboue!

maybe AW saw Gilberto was on a downwords slope, and maybe he saw Silvestre can still play at a high level.

I think it is a policy of ours though - If a player gets over 30 then they only get a years contract after that? is that right? They wouldn't give Bergkamp a longer contract either.

So it is strange that players that have been with us for years don't get it - but a new player does?
