Arsenal Thread

Man of the match........: ALMUNIA......seriously. I've watched the game 3 times, when called upon he came through and if he hadn't this 2nd leg would have been a whole different ballgame.

I see Fabregas coming out and admitting he has a dream to one day playing for United. :DD
No mate you should have seen Ronaldo courting Real last season:-pp..

But seriously as far as Fabregas is concerned every Arsenal fan knows that he will one day end up at Camp Nou,Hope its later than sooner. But he has never used it for his gain(unlike some players),shows he's got the club at his heart...

I Can see Fabregas as a captain of Arsenal,Toure maybe another candidate couple of years down the line.

Anyway lads, Wenger has today said your not any closer to bringing anyone in? and Cesc is out for tommorow's game (Even though i doubt it will affect the result) you lot need to get a move on in the market for a CM.

Nasri looks good. Went missing in the latter part though. Beautiful build up for the goal.

The midfield is still weak though. Couldn't keep the ball, and were overrun on a few occassions. Still need a true defensive midfielder.

not too bad 3pts nonetheless...Ade needs to sort out his passing and Eboue in the middle was shocking. Nasri scoring was great for his debut.

Thoughts came to my mind that we should have taken something like 25M or 30M for Adebayor. But i guess, its only the first game of the season. We'll see what happens in the other games. Hope he scores those sitters.

Nasri was damn good and Eboue was as shite. I guess everyone were OK 2day except to some stupid things what Eboue did.

Hoyte left finally. I suppose he wanted to leave us since last season when Sagna came in. Anyways, its ok, Guess Toure or Eboue will play if he gets injured.

i kinda felt walcott wasn't his dynamic self as seen last season... nasri good will get better... eboue was as usual enough said about him better.... would have liked to see wilshire (hope thats the spelling) & ramsey...

Almunia came through with a fine save again in the second half! Same shit as last season, cutting teams open many times throughout the game and producing nothing on goal, reverting to doodling around the box and leaving ourselves open to the opposition nicking a goal or a dodgy penalty down the other end. We need to take our chances and be more direct from time to time. Definately need a bruiser in the midfield. And what the FUCK does Wenger see in Eboue in midfield??? HE'S SHITE. Between him and Adebayor they couldn't kick water off a ducks arse today although Adebayor has some good moments when he came deep. Now I'll mention, and the last time I mentioned this I was told it was nonsense, but you could hear a PIN drop at the Emirates today. Is it just me??? There seemed to be long periods during the game where it was just DEAD SILENCE and you could hear the players banter down on the field. Seriously, what the fuck, opening day of the season and all, maybe I'm wrong; I hope I'm wrong actually but that's just the way it seemed.

That's real funny Dermot..I agree with you that we need someone to Dominate in the midfeild, but wenger strategy of winning the title for cheap has loopholes.we need to sign a good DMF NOW!!.

If Djourou is to be played as CB ahead of Toure, why not play Toure as a sitting DMF instead of sticking Eboue in the middle?.Is Djourou a better CB than Toure or was Toure suffering from a niggle?.

I am happy that Nasri is settling well,he seems to be someone who shoots when given a oppurtunity just outside the box instead doodling around until,we lose possesion and are hit on the counter.

Amin, dermont! very well said.
Ade is more of a Second Striker. He likes to be on the sideline and to run at defenders, not the type that bashes t he opposite defence.
RVP's play is pure art.
A couple of things are so clear:
1. We obviously need a defender - Gallas is too fucking short, Djourou's a puppy and Senderos is not constant.
2. The midfield was week. I think AW knows at least a DMF, if in the CB section we could improve, is very needed.
3. We need to be more direct and take more chances.

p.s.: ouch: http://www.arsenal.com/news/news-archive/-performance-more-important-than-signings-

ever heard the word highbury library? us arsenal fans aint that vocal

Bill asks his boss for a raise, "Sir i thnk i deserve a raise, ive got three other company's after me"
"Is tht so, may I ask which companies?" asks his boss
Bill replies" the gas, electric and telephone"

Good one Jonney:DD.

Whenever I have been at Highbury or the Emirates there has been a great deal of noise.

But not all fans are the same - People use it as a way to put us down. Put it doesn't mean we are less of supporters for our club.

I for one sing once or twice at the football - But most of the time I am shouting or swearing :DD

I am not a big singer at football games - It doesn't make me less of a supporter. So I don't really care what people say about it all.

To be honest though when there is alot riding on games - the Arsenal fans are really vocal. I just think we have been spoilt and when we play 'smaller' teams the emphasis is lost abit.

Also I just thought, when I go to the Emirates now - there are so many families and a great deal of women there. So when fellas are with the family I think there is less chance of them belting out a song. Also the Women don't sing that much either.

That could be the reason?

Anyway I don't give a shit - aslong as we win all our games :DD

Just to note - People should get over the Adebayor thing. I was just as pissed of with him, but if we keep booing him its not going to make him play better

It doesnt matter if Arsenal fans dont keep on shouting for the whole ninety minutes. What matters is that they are still Arsenal fans, even if we win or lose or draw. Thats what matters.

And Eboue shouldnt play in the middle. Put Ramsey or Wilshire but not Eboue.

I've been supporting Arsenal for 26 years now, yes I have heard of Highbury the Library, tell me why "us" Arsenal fans aren't vocal?????????????? Please.
why? because us arsenal fans aint drunk holigans who shout and get excited for no reason.

we was poor on saturday though. but im glad we won because if you want to win the title, you gotta play shit and still win.
