Shocking stat on the BBC site:

BBC said:
The Gunners have already played more matches than any other European top-flight club. Their 42 fixtures, is eight more than AC Milan have figured in so far this term.

And the Premier League want us to play even more matches halfway around the world!! Pricks.

I don't think our defence will keep milan from scoring unfortunately - jsut hopefully we score more in both matches to get us through.....please!!!!!!!!!!

Milan coach said they don't plan on using their gk ...bold statement from the Champs nonetheless . AW reply they will need one.....I see clichy sending the balls to ade Milan will win the battle in the middle so are fullbacks speed will be vital

pissed we should of won that but the most important thing was to keep a clean sheet and thats what we did. now lets score an away goal and realy piel the pressure on milan

I'm confident we'll win in San Siro, Arsenal are tough but they got a bit nervous and can get pressured if you force players offensively with short passing or down the flanks. We got the result we wanted. To all those 'ooohhh Milan are too old!" people... Maldini was one of the best players on the pitch, at the age of 40!. Our defense was superb, especially Kaladze, Maldini and Oddo. Gattuso and Ambrosini were completely in the game, fighting for every ball. When Pato touched the ball he was also a threat. There was a period in the second half where it was literally end to end, great match.

Kalac was very secure, great game by spiderman. Kaka was quiet, but he just returned from injury. But other than that, I'm loving the result. You lot really should have scored imo, you had the occasions but had no good chances until the very end. Lehmann was a bit dodgy when we pressured his goal kicks. I also saw a lot of long balling by Arsenal.... they kept sending it to Adebayor, hoping his strength would send him 1v1... but imo it just lost you the ball.

Anyway, I thought it was a great game. But strangely we could hear the Milan fans almost all game! Dunno how many were there. 0-0 was fair. Our best player... cant think of one as our defense was strong. As I said, im quite confident for San Siro. But as always, playing Arsenal will be tough.

edit- Thought Pato was great on his CL debut at Emirates! He just got back this weekend and was quite dangerous. Should have passed a few times but other than those moments he dribbled wide and opened your defense up. I can't believe im older than him by 1 year!!!!

edit 2- usually I dont compliment the ref, but i thought he was good. The first half had a total of something like 4 fouls!!! He also booked Eboue for diving which I thought was a bit harsh, because there was SOME contact but not enough for a PK imo. Linesmen also had a good game.

We should have got a couple of goals - we played much better than Milan.

We will regret not scoring though.

Its gonna be a totally different game at Milan - But we can score a goal it could be our game.

Cant wait.

But we deserved the win tonight - unlucky.

Its funny how you saw a completely different game to me! ;)

In the 2nd half we battered you, our superior fitness showed and we should be 2 goals up. However, I am not upset with the final score as I am convinced we will cause you more problems in Milan than you did to us last night. I fancy us to score first which will put you in trouble, we love playing on the counter attack. Milan to me looked ordinary last night, I am looking forward to putting this tie to bed in 2 weeks. Maldini was your best player by far.

You had about 3,000 fans there.

Bring on the 2nd leg.

Well, what a difference in matches last night to a few of Tuesday's boring encounters!

I'm sorry but I think Arsenal deserved the win - they were brilliant. Even I left my seat when Adebayor hit the bar! (I recorded the match on V+ and watched it after the United game.)

Milan, as always, produced a brilliant defensive performance. My favourite player in the world was just class & as Milanista stated, he's 40 years old for fucks sake. I think you Goons were so unlucky - you'll get a goal at the San Siro, I am almost certain. I can only praise them young fellas you have, you are going to be such a great team!

:)

Arsenal deserved to win but they didnt. its ok. But the way they had kept the possession and dominated the game and made Pirlo and Kaka invisible, i think its not going to be the usual game at San Siro of AC Milan raping english teams. It doesnt matter if we lose or win at San Siro. What matters is whether we give them a tough fight and give them a message that not all english clubs are easy to beat at San Siro.

what a fantastic match! i honestly didn't expect milan to contain arsenal so well, so hats off to milan for being a serious challenge for such an amazing team (talking about arsenal, of course).

fantastic individual performances by ebouè and oddo. Oddo imo was even better than maldini....
as for ebouè, i'm starting to think he's not human

good luck to both sides for the 2nd leg. i've got no idea who will go through, but definitely it's a shame that 1 of theese 2 teams will leave the competition :applause:

Yeah Oddo was class - I really rate that right-back. As I watched last night it made it even more clear that is what we are missing - Brown just isn't on that level.

must have been the best game obeue has ever played.. he usually is mr hackfest, and gets stupid cards.. and gives possesion away

To be honest I didnt really see anything special in the Arsenal attacks. Only about 2 of your actual plays got through our defense and caused us problems. The rest were blind crosses that never reached the target, until the 93' minute. Most of your plays were long balls to Adebayor. You just couldnt crack us all game. We played the game we came to London to play. I think not scoring at home might cost you in San Siro. Every team we've played there has said "we're good at the counter" - Man Utd, Lyon and Bayern for example, yet we've won by 2+ goals. We will also be fielding our full 4-4-2 formation, where as you'll be in our position tonight as the away team. Milan as well is famous for the counter. Your team was solid overall, but you had flaws that let us come forward, even though we werent that effective. Its a bt like the Sevilla game. Instead, they are a very attacking team, in theory should be filled with gaps, but they managed to send 3 past your team.

Don't get me wrong, we werent great either. But I thought our defending was great - we prevented you from scoring.

Clichy often exposed his WHOLE left flank for Oddo, and Sagna got nervous at times with the ball. As soon as we started pushing forward with short passes or with fast players down the flanks, Arsenal's defense was opened up, but since we played 4-5-1 we had no attack.

One thing is for sure though, you guys played possession football, but just couldnt convert.

Many people already thought last night that Arsenal would dismantle Milan, even the bookies. But you just couldn't do it. I can see a goal or two by Arsenal at San Siro, but I still fancy a victory by Milan, its all we've got to play for.

If last season's Kaka(or Seedorf for that matter) had shown up, milan would've walked away with the win yesterday.

There were a few occasions and there was space for Milan to hurt Arsenal on the break. An in-form Kaka wouldn't have needed much, but last night he was an exhausted inhibited version of himself and his moves led to nothing whereas last season they were usually succesful.

yeah, that's true. but arsenal too got his chances (actually even more than milan). they just showed a lack of coolness when it was about to shoot (most of their shots were an easy challenge for kalac).

it was pretty evident kaka is not yet totally recovered from his injury... maybe in 2 weeks....

anyway Ste, i've got to say i disagree with u about arsenal not doing anything special in attack. i saw some fantastic short, fast ball triangulations just next to milan's box. the only reason why they didn't look really dangerous was coz they had to face oddo, kaladze and nesta (not to mention maldini, who was simply poignant)..... many defenses would have lost the battle yesterday....
and we also have to say they (i mean the gunners) were really unlucky in a few occasions ;)

yeah mate. sometimes he can be pretty disappointing. but yesterday he was really on fire:D

fantastic match btw. can't wait for the 2nd leg :D

I think we cracked your defence a few times - it was just the finishing.

I think you were lucky in that game and I honestly think we could have easily won by a couple of goals last night.

i really didn't see anything special from Ac Milan? there best chance was when the ball ping ponged around our area and it got cleared by our man at the last moment - it was hardley breathtaking stuff for yourselves.

Anyway - It will be completely different in Italy and will be the hardest game ever - we need an early goal.
