I would like to see Arsenal tackle Real cause they would be a big test cause we seem to smash a great team (Inter, Roma) ad then completely implode against other teams (Auxerre last season)

Im sure Arsene Is shaking in his boots at the prospect of playing Man Utd in the sweet 16. The only two teams I fear, are Real Madrid and Juventus, the rest of them im sure we could easily beat.

arsenal have absolutly fantastic player in vieira, henry and pires (plus cole and campbell arnt bad either) plus an amazing manager but im afraid they are never gonna even come to close to winning the champions league while there carrying players like wiltord, gilberto, lauren, toure, parlour etc. i may sound bitter (cus i am :mrgreen: ) but im sure most arsenal fans with any sense realise these players have to be replaced before you really stand a chance of going the whole way. i admit i might be wrong about toure and lauren but has there ever been two more overrated players than wiltord and gilberto ?

on another note who would you rather have .. wiltord or kanoute ?????????

I agree with the wiltord comment and quite a bit on Gilberto, he would make good cover but Toure is an amzing prospect who can play anywhere along the back 4 and in the centre of midfield if need be. Lauren has come on as a player and does well in his position. Also don't forget Ljungberg (we love you Freddie cause you've got rerd hair) he is a great winger who hasn't hit form as of yet this season.

Now we have secured the funding it seems that there is a free 10 mil to free up to buy players. Apparently this will go as a down payment for Reyes with the rest of his fees in installments
 
I've placed a little bet this evening (those who know me know I like a little bet now and again). Arsenal to win 2-1, with either Bergkamp or Pires to score first - 35-1. It would be nice to think that we could top the group after everybody wrote us off, plus miss the top teams left in Europe.

On the £10 million transfer fund, I see Wenger investing in the future again. Who can you buy who's world class for £10 million?

And i think if he's gonna go for a defender, which i think he's gotta, then there are a few decent players out there that you could get for 10 mill, how about an aging Maldini?
 
so what's the situation in Group , if the gunners and inter win, then both of you are through right? because you are second behind loko, and a win would bring you top, and an inter win would bring them second to you because of GDs... soo what are your chances? zic? nicky? buta? any injuries or suspensions?

Arsenal would go through as we beat Inter 5-1 and they only (I say only) beat us 3-0.

Were gonna hammer Loco, thats what I think. If we can beat Inter 5-1 away from home, then im certain we can turn the Russians over even tho there top of the league. ;)

I predict an easy 3-0 victory.

also remember you have been better on the road, visiting seems better because highbury was the site of a 3-0 thrashing from inter

So we made it after a horrendous start to the CL, not winning any of our first 3 games, but yet we still finished top. Hopefully we get draw against Sparta Prague in the next round. ;)

but that game meant nothing, as long as we won, nobody could pass us. Although it was great to see Inter getting knocked out.

What a performance from the boys! I think its better when our backs are to the wall :) We seem to play with more commitment than if you are in an advantages position like needing a draw to progress or something.

yes milan, maybe playing their hearts out is even an understatment, they pushed out with all their might, counterring everything inter threw at them, corner came in, and a monstrous tackle on veiri and oba when they had gaping wide open nets, turned it around and ... inspiring football from a club i wanted to go top in the group :( darn

I don't want us to face Bayern, Depor and Stutgart. The rest shouldn't be too hard.
 
I wanna get Bayern, because at least if we beat them well start getting some credit, instead of all this shite about we only beat Lokomotive.
