I don't know why people are writting us off for the title this year.
Because Man Utd beat you without Veron and Beckham, and the only goal you scored was a FK their keeper should have saved. Add to that you got a player sent off and somehow another was only booked for booting an opponent and it doesn't bode well.

Arsenal will be up there come the end of the season, I dunno who's "writting" you off but Man Utd are favourites.

C'mon you can't take anything from a fooking kick-about FFS. The difference between Arsenal and Man Utd are the officials.

Oh yeah I forgot that arsenal had two offside goals allowed against us at Highbury last season, one that was miles offside FFS....

C'mon zico your argument has got holes bigger than a Campbell-les defence, give it up mate. if they are so great then they'd be Champions

Is that the only dodgy decision you can come up with Vann. I can think of hundreds that Man Utd have got away with.

lost my post :l

It basically said that yes that's the guy I'm talking about - he's being touted as the next Tony Adams.

Also, try to remember how long it took Fergy to get anywhere - and he had limitless funds!

I don't know why people write us off either - as for the Shield, they won on pens - they couldn't beat us in normal time...with an extra player AND with our 2 best players (Pires & Henry) completely unfit!

And if the keeper should have saved the free-kick - doesn't that show they've bought another dodgy keeper!

C'mon then what are these 100's of dodgy decisions, I bet any that you can come up with have happened at every football club in the UK...

give it a rest mate

Go for it Zico, list them all, in fact a new thread I think - MAN U CHEATERS THREAD, that way all the other fans can list the time they have been robbed by the scum that is Man U and their 12th man that is the ref

I have to say that ref inconsistacy is the problem, but to defend the fact Man Utd seem to get more decisions their way:

1) That time all the players ran over to the linesman, Arsenal got into trouble, MU didn't

2) Van Diver...erm...diving all the time! Pires got tripped and was actually getting up (whilst still sliding) and got sent off (against 'Pool). If a player dives looking for a pen & one isn't given that is a dive & a bookable offence - see almost every game Van Diver plays in (most recently the Shield)

3) Percentage wise it's more common to see flying pigs than an AWAY pen at Old Trafford...and it ain't 'cos they play so nice!

4) Roy Keane ('nuf said)

I would go on...

Well fucking come on then? Name them? I'm sure we can come up with just as many Arsenal ones. I'm fed of this fucking shite. Granted, we get decisions are way, sometimes they arent correct sometimes they are. But for fucks sake, how many other teams in the league do the same? I mean, you just have to look at this weekend. Liverpool, with the dodgy re-take, Birmingham, Villa and Leicester get some of the dodgiest penalties I've ever seen. Meanwhile, we get slagged off cos of an offside goal, which didnt even matter seen as we already would have wrapped the game up with out it. Its fucking ridiculous. Last season we played some tremendous football without many key players through suspension and injury, did we moan once? NO. Did we get on with the games and make our own justice through our footballing ability? YES.
Despite this, all we fucking hear is "you cheated your way to the title", etc, etc, etc. For fucks sake, at least we were big enough to admit that we lost to the better team in 01/02. The fact of the matter is, everyones jealous of our success and do not have the balls to admit when their team has been outplayed. In fact, I dont even fucking remember a match which we won where some wanker hasnt picked up on a stupid fucking incident and blamed it for the demise of the opposition during the match. I think some of you need to grow up, and accept when your team has been beaten/ your arch rivals have put on a great performance.

Hate to pick a huge hole in your arguement, but I seem to remember Alex Ferguson going on about the UEFA CL Draw, saying that he didnt think the draw was random.

You do get a fair few decisions esp. at OT (look at the number of pens for you and then for the opposition over the past few years). At the end of the day they probably dont make enough a difference for people to say "Man Utd cheated their way to the title", but maybe the fact that refs in the CL are of a higher, more fair, standard explains, to a certain extent, why your record in the knockout stages, post 1999, is so poor.

The only way YOU cheat is with Van diver - surely you can't defend that?!

lets face it Man Utd are the team to beat, BUT Arsenal are right up there too & it would have been interesting to see what would have happened if MU had ended up with naff-all 2 seasons on the trot while Arsenal did the double double.

I don't think (other than Van Diver) people are saying MU cheat, just that they get a good deal of things go their way.

In the same way us Arsenal fans see things go against us, look at the Keown/Van Diver incident...someone here said Keown punched VD - LMAO, he shoved the player high in the chest in an upward motion, his hands went into his throat (as would be natural if pushing someone in that way) and VD went over...now let's look at WHY he pushed him, because VD was standing on his fxxking foot. Look closer at the whole thing - VD is really pushing his studs in hard - Keown objects, VD keeps on doing it, Keown pushes him off.

So what's the outcome?

Keown ends up in front of the FA for violent conduct.

Mate, i tottaly agree with that post.

This is exactly what me and my brother was discussing the other day about the difference in refs in Europe.

There not perfect by your standards either cos we still get Pens awarded and very few given against at OT (think its cos we spend most of our time in the opposing area ;) ) Infact I cant remember the last Pen given against us in Europe either home or away so how does ya theory explain that one.

On the whole i think the ref situation in The Prem has improved slightly, its always dodgy at the start of the season, but its never gonna be 100% but thats one of the things that makes football so special anyway.

If I recall correctly, I believe MU went 3 seasons without conceeding a pen at OT

It's really unfair because Sol isnt a dirty player, and none of his red cards have been malicious. He hardly picks up any yellows through the seasons and yet manages to get banned for four games, twice.

Yeah I know, he only swung an elbow in the direction of Ole's hobbit head.....

Yeah he didnt know he was there either the camera lies when it shows him looking back to see where Ole was before he hit him

Sorry but that was an abysmal dive by Ole to get Sol sent-off last year and you know it. Ole is just a big a cheat as RVN is.

Ok before i get slated here IM NOT AN ARSENAL FAN - Would love them to loose against Boro on Sunday. Anyway...

I dont think Campbell is a dirty player either. He's about as dirty as Savage and he dont get all this crap. I wish they'd leave it lie now and again you know. I know what Zico is saying and i agree with him. Campbell is a good player, and i think he is getting singled out for attention coz he's an English Top notch player. Clamp down on him and they reckon every one else will be careful. But hey what do i know im a Boro fan! :colours:

lol what sort of moron moans about getting bans when he throws elbows and kicks out at people. Only a gooner i tell ya.

It maybe harsh but he should clearly know better. Rather than worrying about who hasnt got punished for what why doesnt he just not do it, its fairly simple.

Refs clearly favour the likes of man u and arsenal as well. How the hell are teams like that near the top of the fair play league year in year out. Its ridicolous. The refs are clearly under pressure to make sure there televised games run smoothly, its a shame the rest of the prem dont get the same treatment. I cant beleive the arsenal fan think someone has a vendetta against em cus of sol, if you guys had half of the red cards we got (spurs) then id dread to think what youd be like.

Van, I heard it all now.

Sol Campbell was defending the ball, he saw Ole coming and threw his arm back to keep him at bay - LIKE ANY OTHER DEFENDER DOES.

Unfortunately for Ole (as he is short & Sol big) he caught him in the face with his elbow...but that's all. Unfortunately for Sol one aprticualr angle makes it look like a deliberate elbow in the face.

BUT I ask you this...

If you were the size of Sol & deliberately elbowed a player as slight as Ole in the face - don't you think there there would be some sort of mark?

Bloody nose, black eye ANYTHING. Esp. for how he reacted.

I'm not calling Ole a cheat - but I think he played to that incident rather well.

Two things:

1) I don't think Sol Campbell wanted to elbow Ole on purpose and the red was harsh.

2) If you get an elbow in the face from someone as big and strong as Sol, you WILL go down like a sack of spuds! It's happened to me (Not from Sol though) and your legs just go from underneath you.

Did you need 5 mins attention and were you left completely unmarked?

Barcelona vice-president Sandro Rosell has admitted the club is furious to have lost star youngster Cesc Fabregas to Arsenal.
The 16 year-old signed a six-year contract with the Gunners this week and joins the London giants as an amateur.

"We are very disappointed that our midfielder Cesc has signed for Arsenal for six years," said Rosell.

"We believed he had great potential at Barcelona."

The thing that annoys me is the fact that Scholes kicked out at a Arsenal player in the same match just like Cole and Campbell, but somehow he isn't getting punished for it. So why the fuck are they doing this to Big Sol?

we both know the answer that that...same reason a card wasn't show to Van Diver, or Neville sent off for the initial challange on Jeffers etc etc

Wonder how many penalty's Man Utd will get tommorow? Im going for 2!
