ArmA 2: for PC and Xbox 360.

So the game is near completion but realistically how long are we from buying it ourselves? I've read of some games being 'complete' but still took months to get into the shops and others being delayed here and there to maximize sales so they avoid other big name games.


I loved the first Flashpoint, I loved how difficult it was and nothing has ever given me the feeling of being 1 single man in the middle of a war. I loved one of the skirmish type missions where you had to kill targets in a village and a convoy of trucks and tanks would come down a road to the right of the map after a while. I loved playing that over and over, setting traps with my satchel charges so as the convoy drove down i blew them and took the first and last vehicle out at the same time boxing the others in the middle and then picking them off from the hillside with my sniper rifle.

Great game.

Top image being the ingame map and bottom being České Středohoří in Google earth, an area of approximately 225Km2 has been extracted to serve as the Island of Chernarus.

The buildings and nature in the game is almost all native to the Czech Republic and looks very familiar to anyone who's visited the country :)

Yeah the demo wasn't all that tbh, the idea of it all is there though and has grabbed me

and Placebo your talking about how big the game is does this mean in some instances you start at like a base camp then have to take people so far by Heli or Drive and drop them off?

Sounds like its a Virtual Ross Kemp game :LOL:

Well I believe the first two confirmed release dates are Germany May 29th, Czech Republic June 17th with UK June 26th yet to be confirmed (as far as I know) 505 website still says to be confirmed http://505games.co.uk/Games.aspx?ID=128 .

Yes in many instances you don't just magically spawn 10m from the enemy, you will have to do a foot patrol for example with a number of primary, secondary, tertiary objectives, where you might randomly meet the enemy at one location, or not, and instead you meet them at another location. Or if the objective is a long way from your base camp you may have to be inserted by car or armoured vehicle or chopper :)

You'll probably find a lot of the nature familiar as well due to having similar trees and bushes and such, even here in Sweden some of the trees look very familiar :)
 
Maybe not

windows says its found the 360 pad but it doesn't show up in the control panel
 
yeah using the keyboard is uncomfortable and i will have to remember loads of keys and will forget what key does what
 
You sound so understanding Jonney M.:BLEH: ...actually i like using the 360 controller also (for FPS on my PC).
 
I prefer keys for infantry movement and shooting on the PC as it's more precise, but I'm going to try the 360 controller for driving/flying :) I'm hoping to get permission to create some HD "shakeycam" movies with my lovely Sony Cybershot T500 :)

i'm seriously looking forward to this, i'm sick of the run and gun games like COD and the little twats who play it. the only time i enjoyed playing COD was in a whole team of people i knew.

a question to the masses.

how many people will be getting this on the PC or the 360?

personally i will be getting it on the 360 cause my laptop won't run it to a high standard.

is the UK june 26th release date for both PC and consoles?
