Anth's 23 Mods // Gameplay v6.0 Released

Hi guys, in general, i enjoy a lot playing with this mod. I think its the best of there but i'm finding it a little bit annoying that CPU wont cross the ball at all.
They get to the corner and look for a backward pass or just a simple one, never a cross.
Is there a way to change this? Otherwise everything fells the same, over and over again
Thanks man. Some teams/players cross more than others, but I take your point for sure. I'm looking into the wings as we speak to hopefully improve a few things there..

i been playing with Brighton, second season now, and i did not see one single cross, just low passes to the penalty box. I believe in some other versions, there were more crosses.
I know it may be hard to fix, cause it just how the AI plays this game.
I'm on legendary, i dont know how it works on World class, cause i know AI its more free there, but its just to easy.

That's strange, I see crosses in almost every game I play. Also on legendary. Sometimes I wonder if it's partly related to play style. A lot of AI behaviour/patterns are linked with what they're reacting to on the pitch, distances/spacing/pressure etc, so I think there's something in how each person plays also.

I agree that players do go to the byline a little too frequently in general, but in my experience I don't see no crosses ever. Definitely looking into it though to see if I can improve it. There is a way I can get more crosses in, but the negatives that come with it in regards to general behaviour outweigh the positives unfortunately so it needs to be an alternative method.
 
I actually had a couple of really fun matches last night, Legendary/10 mins halves. I played on assisted though as I just wanted a more relaxed time. If you allow yourself, you can really enjoy it for what it is which is a casual football if you don't expect anything too deep. Saw some wonderful animations and saves play out this time and nothing too janky.

So, as always I'll have beef with something but I'm not gonna beat a dead horse around the through passes... But this one is more to do with another curse of modern FIFA's - The COM seemingly scoring straight from kickoff, frequently 😠

It seems either COM takes kick-off at the start of a match or after conceding and your entire team is bolted to the ground where they stand, it's a weird thing where it's the only time your entire team never seems to move or press and the COM is able to run past all 11 men in their own half and get an instant goal scoring opportunity.

Do you have any observations or feedback on this? Once the ball goes out of play if you're lucky enough to tackle or intercept something, your team's pressing seems to return to normal but there's always been this strange immobilization from kick-off on these games and I'm curious what EA's philosophy is on this.

Yeah I think it all just comes back to 1v1 personally. The rest of the team isn't really awake in the first moments of the match or from a kick off. I agree, it takes a little bit to get them going....and even then.....it's often questionable haha.

Regarding the through balls though, expect an update on them. They're much more useful now. Not always as consistent as I'd like, but a better consistency and a much more effective way of using them now. They have more energy in them now and you can create some really nice passes, manual included.
 
Another example here of the improved physicality. Players now meet like there's actually a human standing in front of them, and react accordingly. This has a tangible impact on gameplay in general. I really wish EA adjusted their values because the interactions could be so much better on this game if they made some simple changes.

That looks lovely. With improved physicality and technical ability for the next version, I am quite excited.

I can confirm that I also see crosses in most of the games I play with Leipzig in my career

Hey, thank you for making this amazing mod, but after watching these videos that you post I'm not sure the mod works the same for me, because it doesn't match the videos. My gameplays are a lot faster with the players moving almost like default fifa, and I reinstalled the mod a good couple times and it seems that I get different results every time.
I've tried a couple things like running FMM as admin, not running fifa as admin, running steam as admin and having the -datapath FIFAModData argument in the launch options, but I still get fast gameplay. It changes slightly every time and sometimes it gets slower but not nearly as slow as your videos. Also I don't get these physicality interactions.

If it’s playing fast then yeah it’s definitely not loading. Is there anything in the legacy folder? Could be a live tuning update perhaps? Are other mods launching properly?

Try delete the folder FIFA23 located in C:\Users\(YOUR USER)\AppData\Local\Temp. Launch again with the Delete FIFAModData option (FMM).

Regarding the live tuning updates, I think FMM deletes it every time even if it is downloaded

Hmm I’m not sure man, it definitely doesn’t sound like it’s working. Maybe reinstall the mod manager?

Tried it and I'm using mods that use legacy files but there still isn't a legacy folder in my game folder, I don't understand why it's not working properly, it's so annoying

You don’t want anything in that folder anyway as far as I know. I think try reinstalling the manager man. Possibly even the whole game itself. I had a similar problem for a while ages ago where for no reason at all the mods, especially gameplay just wouldn’t load up.

Hi, why your mod ruined other mods that add new leagues as EEP? It make that on the new leagues only 3 teams. I see this on the first time with gameplay mods
 
@Anth James what a precious art piece your kickerror folder is. I've added it to my own mod, untouched for the moment (yet I might try to modify it later when I understand better what each value does) and you're a damn genious. Now the game feels MUUUUUCH more polished in terms of ball handling and ball tackling. Your whole mod is great, to be honest, and even when I prefer the generally slower pace of mine, I must recommend this mod to everyone cause it is a must play, even if you end up having other favorite mods. Great, great work by you, master!

Also, I've seen that in gp_physics_ragdoll, you modify all this values

The ContextMax or ContextMin Strength Factor, and you make both much higher. Let me explain how I think they work. As I understand, what those values do is to multiply the Base_Magnitude factor (the one highlighted in yellow), so if you want to make all of them higher, you might want to just amplify BaseMagnitude value and work with nearer values to 1 in the multipliers, which would be the same effect but you could see easier the relation between them (easier to work in a scale of 1 than in a sacale of 3, for example).

Just letting you know cause I thought it might be useful to you in case you want to revamp physicality at some moment, since knowing how things work always helps out in the outcome!

Love it, Always preferred EA's impact engine but I think it's one of those things that rarely occurs on recent games because on vanilla, Players are just not allowed to get close enough to each other for collisions to occur.

When you go back and play the FIFA 13's to 16's, the physically is wonderful and so dynamic, it really feels like everything is a battleground.

There's probably ways to take away that... Barrier. Just a matter of looking in the files.

Glad you enjoy the mod man.

Regarding physicality, there's some very important reasons those values are set to how I have them in my mod and they play a big role.
