I have the game now in Greece!!!

I played a couple of games and everything is perfect for me except one thing:

The game is much faster than fifa10! This is a major downer for me. Even on slow the game is very very fast. I think it spoils the fun...

Why EA, why?

If you need pics or videos tell me...
 
I like the world map thing to choose teams, they should have that in Fifa 11 for the club teams.

So you get to play and learn a bit of geography on the way :))

i was playing this lastnight

initial thoughts

graphics and sound/atmosphere an improvement

seemed slower than the demo and fifa 10 (until i picked the ball up with lennon 100mph, so i think this can also become very fast)

game plays smoother, different to fifa 10 (maybe make more mistakes,

although that could be because it is slightly different and i need to adjust my playing style

shooting is slightly different, but you can still do the chip shots with the cross button. i was doing it in the arena and was gutted they were going in, although no where near as frequent as fifa 10. managed to hit the bar with one in a match on world class. i think it won't be exploited as much as fifa 10 but it is there to be exploited still i feel

will play some more tonight
 
Should be getting mine tonight, looking forward to CYC mode as I loved it in the Euro game.

I think this makes the game more realistic because speed is something really important in football and not everyone is so fast.

yea, you could see the difference with him to other players, but this can be a problem if not done right

i can imagine a team with some fast players which then tips the scales on being an unrealistic game of football

it depends on the person with the controls but i think we will stil see the majority of super fast gameplay online which is not what football is always about imo

Me and other people, and probably everybody, agrees in the fact that having fast players in the game WHILE there isn't any difference in skill makes the game shitty. Lennon should be fast, as Walcott, but they should have problems controlling the world while running at their peak, and have some missed touches here and there that would make them differ from their intended route. Messi, on the other hand, shouldn't be as faster as them but should have more control over the ball and the direction he0's going, and while turning.

Without skill making a real impact in the different stances of the game, it will always make it easier to exploiters, and WC 2010 seems to me the MOST "exploitable" game in the series.
 
I don't, one of the biggest assets in the modern game is speed and how players without it have to be better in other areas, the way EA just remove this from the game with auto AI catchup instead of implementing it properly ruins the game...

I wasn't implying to remove speed differences, just stating that physical condition should be as important as skill, and while all players are equally skilled, fast players like Walcott or Lennon will be more powerful in this game than the likes of Xavi, Cesc or Silva.

Besides, the problem of speed caching up is a completely different problem that we all agree is not needed in the game. Fairness should be key. The game has a set of rules and CPU shouldn't be able to break them. If they want adaptative difficulty, put sliders on it!

My bad;)), yep sliders to adjust as much as possible would be nice and I know it's something EA are looking at...:))
 
I'm always so baffled at lengths that EA Sports go to in order to kill any sort of long term replay value of their tournament games...

Take in this game for example:

1) You can NO LONGER change player stats in this game... you can't even rearrange existing stat points like you were able to in FIFA 10.

2) NO Custom Tournament option. Want to play just a knockout tournament with your friends? Can't here.

3) Making it as hard as possible for us to utilize create-a-player... making us go through entire CYC in order to create a decent one and even then, you have NO control in how you can change certain stats (and although you can change base stats according to their height/weight... its by such small amounts that it matters very little).

This kind of stuff always makes me appreciate how Pro Evo at least has a decent edit/tournament mode every time. Such a sneaky move by EA :(

well mate, is not hard to beat a 1 star team, but they play very unrealistic.

For exemple, i just played URUGUAY x NEW CALEDONIA (a half star team). I beat them 4-0 but they still had 45% of ball possession and 85% of PASS ACCURACY! 85% for a half a star team is totally unacceptable! I had 77% on SEMI simply becouse i can´t play on manual with 60-65% of pass accuracy while the other teams will always have 85-90%, even being a half a star team.

I guess we have to start complaning for EA about the lack of sliders in Fifa series, becouse i thing while they don´t implement the sliders we´ll always have the AI playing like that.
 
It feels better than FIFA 10, slow speed actually feels close to being right although the pitch seems a little small and you're forced into playing lots of first-time passes due to so little space.

Worth playing but not sure it's a better football game than PES 2010 really.
 
I've just been playing this for a few matches.

Noticed a few bugs already. Glen Johnson got sent off for a dodgy tackle as last man, but he never got shown a card (even though on the screen it had a red card next to his name) and he was still on the pitch defending the corner. Then when Ireland fired wide on the free kick he was no longer on the pitch.

Have to say the sound and atmosphere is VERY impressive though. Really adds to the atmosphere when you're 1v1 or just about to score the crowd gasp in excitement. Fans also cheer when it hits the ref :LOL:. Also, just now winning 3-0 the crowd were VERY loud e.g. Brazil - the drummers are very loud. First impressions are that it feels like a tweaked FIFA 10 with a lot better ball physics and shooting power. They have really worked on the presentation aswell, it's a nice package.

EDIT: OK, that was 2 chipped goals by the AI in a row. I thought they'd sorted this shite. I didn't even bring the keeper out.

Coop camera is fucking awesome (with Semi controls).

The ball physics again (I'm playing on full manual) and hitting some REALLY powerful shots with Gerard and Rooney from distance.
