2010 FIFA World Cup

i was playing against the cpu on world class..

friggin hated it

put it on pro, switched to broadcast cam with full manual controls and what a difference that made

felt like a proper game of football, so slow build up felt great

but i get bad refresh rates on that cam at certain parts of the pitch. for example it happens only on that side. kicking off from left to right attacking towards the goal or on the right side of the pitch it stutters badly

it is fine that side defending

weird

Playing this now I would not recommend full price but at 25 quid I do. It isn't going to be miles away from FIFA 10 but it is definately an improvement. Graphics and atmosphere alone is a big improvement, gameplay not as big but the little differences make a difference from animations to different feel to FIFA 10. It is worth 25 considering you could spend a tenner on a take away. I would only want to buy it for online up until I hate if cos of exploit and assisted kings then I would hope to find decent manual games. The lack of 2v2 co op is a dissapointment

fucking ruined a good game with shitty cbs that would rather mark their own6 yard box than a striker. ruined.

Got to sit down and play a couple of games (it's out in the US, i didn't download it =P)

First the glaring omissions - you can't edit ANYTHING now as far as attributes are concerned...

Still no man-marking or formation altering in multiplayer (ARRRGGH)

Saw a defender 'jump forward' when he was the last man to let the player with the ball play an easy through ball to create a 1 v 1, so this hasn't been fixed..

But there are a lot of positives to this game. There are a lot of small tweaks to the game that thus far just make the game feel better overall - small things like the knock on touches seem to be more varied now, crossing seems to be a bit more player specific or if not more varied/random, the game seems slower to me, but this could be my imagination since others are saying it's faster? (I play on slow), atmosphere is fantastic, played Argentina Brazil and the drums get you pumped - I played on Legendary and drew 0-0, they passed the ball around very well but it didn't seem frustrating - but if this happens with lower star teams too (which it probably will) it will be frustrating...ball physics feel good, finesse shots seem more balanced... Those are my thoughts thus far :)

I saw a 'form' thing in a multiplayer game I played when I went to squad in team management, but it didn't have any arrows, I wonder what this is for/when it is used?

Have to say I was impressed by what I saw out of the AI - I played Greece with France on Legendary and expected to see crisp passing and a generic 'bad team', but they actually sat back the whole game, looked to counter attack - in the first half I dominated possession 70-30, and they passed at about 72%, but scored a fluke goal off a header which deflected off evra into another attacker's feet - and second half I could not break down their defense, and they eventually scored again off a positioning error made by me. Final possession was 62-38 and their passing was 79% - what I saw from them was very realistic though and quite encouraging....

Does the game have an edit mode? To edit players etc.

I would imagine that will go for kits as well...

Hmmm It's nice you can pick the tape and shirt sleeve but as i thought the kits are locked, I used to love being able to swap shorts and socks between home and away strips to help with Kit clashes, I don't understand how that foiks the licences, it's their licenced strip after all!...

After many hours of multiplayer play i can say that this is by far the best football game ever created...

100% agreed, although it has flaws and games forever will have flaws, nothing is perfect. But this is the best football recreation out there.
I personally believe the weight of the ball(beingheavier) is the biggest improvement and has transformed the game.

The whole AI needs ripped out and re-codding from scratch. Player runs, positioning and general knowledge of where to be on a football pitch is shocking.

The AI of the strikers has improved, I've noticed they're more willing to drop back when the winger gets to the byline so they can receive a cut-back pass rather than having to drill it across the goal and hope for the first.

Seems like one on ones are back to being FIFA 08 easy where every shot on the ground is a goal. Also assisted controls feel so much easier. I couldn't when a match online with out using assisted. Gotta improve on my semi skills.

I found the opposite, the keepers seemed a lot better on 1-on-1's. Keepers seemed much better in general to be honest.

Played this earlier today with a couple of mates, it's lame. Nowhere near realistic - the defending system in particular, the shooting and keepers are still shite too.

I won't go into specifics as I could go on for ages listing basically all the same faults from FIFA 10. There are slight improvements in some areas, but none of the main issues with the gameplay are fully addressed.
