2010 FIFA World Cup

all i want to see is penalties from standing tackles and keepers being sent off for conceding penalties in 1v1 situations. well thats not all i want to see, but it's pretty poor that simple things like this aren't in one of the biggest selling football games franchise.

As I said to the wife the other night, it's handy for my moral stance of "I'm not buying it in protest at the buggy mess that was Fifa10" that I've not seen anything remotely appealing about the world cup game, if it were looking awesome it'd be harder to resist :)

Watching those videos you can see all the things you hate about FIFA 10 still being there... They better work their arses off for FIFA 11 if any of the good feedback will be implemented in time.

Chosing shorts colors is brilliant, at least for me, a very nice adition! been waiting for that since konami took it out from WE

Cant stand watching people play this game in preview vids and such, the sprint abuse really pisses me off one such example being in the spain switzerland vid, i think it was barnetta sprinting in a straight line on the touch line even though no one was near him.

And boy do those celebrations look effing stupid.

i don't mind the celebrations being in for those nobs who like that sort of stuff, but it should be only available offline. not only do we have to put up with watching dick heads score shit assisted goals, we then have to wait while they perform shit celebrations.

As long as there are no bugs on the scale of FIFA 09 and 10 this game mught be the perfect arcadey soccer game.

I'm tempted to buy it to kick peoples asses online wth my JA MEAK KA!!!!!!!!!

Those celebrations made me laugh hard! LOL it's a joke! and people call this a simulation????

Yes, becuase the celebrations have always decided however a game is simulation or not.

This game is likely to be the best football simulator so far, yes. But please, do not buy this game. The perfect arcadey football game? That won't be with us for a long time, but I'd say PES6 is the best attempt so far.

Look at it from this way. If EA wanted to make a proper simulation, why bother with all this efforrt putting those stupid celebrations? Why not work on gameplay aspects instead of wasting ANY time at all on celebrations? If EA thought manual was realisitc and the way to go, why not make players more aware about it and highlight it as a key aspect of the game, those people that they let play the game early, do you think EA tell them to try manual? Do they even know manual of FIFA even exsists?

If i'm to play this game i will play the way the game is made to play, i won't delude myself like with FIFA 09 for a whole year trying to play in a realisitic fashion only for the game to punish you most of the time. Playing on manual just because you can actually miss a pass, in fact on manual, should Germany be the best team? Since passing attribute are null and void on mnanual, pass the ball like Barca with Germany (all their huge players) on manual and you will be unstoppable (Like Chelsea in FIFA 10)

It will be fun every now and again going online and destroying Brazil with Luton Shelton, bibi and co :) Ea have confirmed that they don't need to make sims to be succesful, just stick a load of smooth animations and and kids will lap it up and others will instantly think it's realisitc despite runnning constantly 50 yards with poachers like Gilardino one on one with the keeper all the time scoring the same goals over and over again.

Sorry i'm not going to kidd myself anymore tring the make this game realsitic, i'm just going to enjoy it in the way it's made to be enjoyed.

If Konami wanted to make a proper simulation, why bother with all this effort putting in dog heads and old men sat on benches?

Considering the size of the Fifa/World Cup dev teams creating custom celebrations is probably a very small man hour percentage.

I like the normal celebrations, Alan shearer hand in the air etc, but the break-dancing ones etc are just guff. I would like to see them keep the realistic ones in.

From the videos it doesnt look much different from FIFA 10 and combine that with the fact that Scotland failed to reach the finals again, I dont see me buying it.

Looking forward to actually playing the demo to see how different it really is.

Gameplay looks similar to FIFA 10, will have to check out the demo before deciding whether to buy this game or not.

As for the goal celebrations, I thought that this was a football game and not Dance, Dance Revolution.

You mean the animal heads from PES5 and 6? I would've taken about half and hour at the most. being a patcher, i rememebr making a face is quite tricky but to do a dragons head wouldn't take too long (if your bothered)

Thing is EA have actually paid money for a breakdancer to mod cap those silly moves

Well, as they want to make it fun and arcade like so why not :)

For the celebrations I must say they are ridiculous but they are NOT made for the World Cup game because they exist since FIFA 09 - Ultimate Team(And now I think in FIFA 10 - Ultimate Team).
And in the real World Cup I think only the players from the African teams make celebrations like this :D
It would be better if they make real celebrations like from Ronaldinho,Ronaldo,C.Ronaldo etc.

I must be missing something... In fact I probably am, so I apologize if I didn't catch what must have been a bit of sarcasm.

Anyway, is it going to be possible to hit a side-footed, daisy cutter of a penalty in this one. All of the videos that I've watched showed Donovan blasting them into the corners.

You look like guy who is a PC hardcore Pes player who only play Pes because don't have alternative.Do you have console?Did You ever play Fifa next-gen?

Agree, like the most FIFA haters.

That is literally the worst thing I've ever seen. My body has started to reject my eyes.

Guys, please don't turn this thread into a new PES <--> FIFA debate, I think we're all pretty much over that. Stick to the topic which is "FIFA World Cup 2010". We seriously don't need another fanboy flame festival in here. Cheers!
