Anything here? Not too good on the spanish, still learning, article released today

Re: WE/PES 2008 Next Gen - Discussions Thread (Last Update 08/18/07)

Just run it through google and got this, not the greatest Queens English but you can kind of get the idea:-

Konami has made us arrive the beta versions from Pro Evolution Soccer 2008 that the company will show in the next Games Convention de Leipzig that will begin as of morning, in the systems 2 PlayStation and Xbox 360. By a problem with the code, us it has not been possible to prove the version for the console of Sony, reason why we have been centered in the corresponding one to 360, indeed the one that more sense of expectancy has raised by the low shown level the last year and the intention of amendment of the equipment of Shingo Seabass.

Initially the decicido change of denomination of the title of Konami calls the attention. Pro Evolution Soccer 2008 presides over any element of the title, rejecting the ordinal one that has accompanied to this series from its beginnings and that has arrived solely until PES 6. It emphasizes that the interface of the menus totally is renewed, something that came requesting to shouts; it consists of a panel who rests on the turf and by that they are marching past the different options: Party of Exhibition, Glass, League Masters, Training, Xbox Live, To publish yOpciones. The rest of menus also has undergone a washing of face as far as colors and tonalities.

Music takes a more determining paper in the interface, shining in screen the name and artist of each subject when beginning and with a BSO of more than 80 different tracks, with subjects of almost any present style: pop, pop of the 80, acid jazz, rock, critical moment, big beat, tech house, house, electro, drum'n bass, funk, minimal, sauce or ska, is present in the sound track that has been made up completely in Konami - it flees from any type of licenses and that can be reproduced in jukebox.

We reviewed the equipment and we verified that in this beta version, the groups are updated until does few weeks. This has allowed us to enjoy the draftees of the madrugadores equipment solely, for example, the FC Barcelona that or shines with Abidal, Touré, Gabi Milito or Henry, Athletic of Madrid without Fernando Torres or a Seville with their flaming incorporations. The Real Madrid, that although yes counts on Pepe or Metzelder, still does not incorporate to Drenthe or Sneijder. This is a habitual circumstance in first betas of PES, that later is corrected in the final version.

As far as licenses, this version presents/displays the same ones that the year last in PES6; Spanish, French league, Calcium, Dutch and otas leagues, in which they include combined of equipment a German, Greek, Turkish, Nordic, of East Europe, selections PES and special equipment. The English league continues without license, with the little attractive Manchester Network for the United, London FC for the Chelsea, North London for Arsenal or Merseyside Network for Liverpool.

As one already filtered through Canal +, this year the commentators of Pro Evolution have changed, releasing new pair; Jose Antonio Maldonado “Maldini”, habitual journalist of the Chain To be and channels of soccer of the Digital platform Extra and expert in international soccer, gets up itself in damage of White the Iñaki veteran, a change that such usuary of PES voted. Next to Maldini, that makes support workings, Juan Carlos Rivero of the TVE, continues developing to the narration, reusing a good block of the voices most of that recorded for previous deliveries. Maldini contributes freshness to the commentaries, equipping them with certain espontaniedad, as much in which it makes with the ball running as in those of the rest, where it values first half of the party.

The tactical options have not undergone new features of weight, 12 variants of which different ones from the control can be assigned 4 and to interchange them in real time, the majority or known by the veterans, as it attacks by right, left, counterattacks or defense and where they emphasize specially attacks by opposed band, to change to bands or interchange of front center. Configuration continues qualifying fast, that allows to select style of game defined cion tactical of form very simple and semitautomatico, whereas the player can be settled down who sends each play with stopped ball choosing to the indicated one for lack of long distance, cuts, second option, córners or penalties.

The graphical section, like general valuation, can say that it has raised several whole numbers with respect the level that showed in Xbox 360 the last year. They improve the face textures, with first planes that now are much more solid that in PES 6, specially or portrayed is the stars of each equipment, like Ronaldinho, Kaká, Henry or Cristiano Ronaldo, but the rest of players maintain a high level in the short distances. The animations in the faces also have suffered a same fate; greater expresividad in them exists, with players who show the fatigue, the moan, annoyance while they somewhat protest or they fail an occasion of goal or when obtaining. Also it is possible to be appreciated how they speak among them in the plays to stopped ball or after marking.

The public also has undergone a bring up to date. Modeled 3D is more solid - to just as those of the players, but saving an abysmal distance among them and reacts to which it happens in the field; they do not remain watching forwards static simply, if not that is oriented towards where the play runs, applauding, moving its arms, shaking its scarfs, or taking the hands at the top. The implementation of its cánticos also is more polished, since now they respond better to the evolutions of the party, being surprised after regate bold, it happens guessed right or an executed affluent firing of its local equipment. And how no, whistling and pressing the visitor. There is a greater individualización of each one, and we can see how, although very basically, they vary its indumentaria, glasses of sun, basic haircuts, moustaches and other elements to avoid to be too repetitive.

In general the animations of the soccer players have gained enough fluidity and naturalness, emphasize those of the movements of the doormen, who approach them their real homónimos. In addition, the cancerberos have gained in fluidity and answer, now all the shutdowns are more genuine, reacting at the right moment, neither before, nor later. In addition the sound to the ball hitting in its gloves is one of the details that it has more impressed to us in this version.

With regard to the physics of the ball, the conduction is more faithful to the reality; it does not circulate as if outside a sphere sliding by a perfect rug, if not that when it rolls by the turf gives small boats so and as it happens in a real party. The effects, boats, bounces in woods or firings of long distance have seemed us more than correct, without strange movements. But these lines of vision denote that they are still in a premature stage of development. The beta specially presents/displays numerous failures of which Konami has warned to us, in the graphical motor, that undergoes pulls, and in the shades, that show light jaggies. On the other hand, the texture of the turf follows without convincing totally.

Most of our parties we have disputed with the Spanish selection and the FC Barcelona forming with Victor Valdés, Abidal, Gabi Milito and Puyol to them in defense Yayá Touré, Xavi, Iniesta in medular, and above, the four fantastic ones, Ronaldinho of mediapunta more Messi by the left, Henry by the right and Eto'o of front center. In the training sessions we have been able to observe some new incorporated movements the scheme of habitual control of the series, that in this occasion improves its answer, being more faithful to the version of PlayStation 2 and being eliminated that retardation of which it did finery the season last in the console of Microsoft. Regates continues remaining in stick left or pad, reason why it is not possible to control to the players with the crosspiece.

The way training, reason why we have been able to see in this beta, has returned to be austere form in Xbox 360, without including the type of challenges and challenges which they appeared the year last in PS2, and limiting the basic training - free training, firing, serve of lack and launching of córner-. The publisher of players returns to cross variable like position, ability, special, physical ability, accessory and movements of the player. Also also they are possible to be published the name of the stages, to create the own Leagues or Glasses, to publish clubs, being modified dorsal, name, local stage and equipación. In this last one we have discovered an option that allows us to connect the camera Xbox Live Vision to scan images and to add them later to the equipaciones

But the element that we have liked of this new Pro Evolution, are more their awesome new system of AI, the Teamvision, that according to the equipment of Seabass, will detect the routines of the player and it will be reorganized consequently. We had many desire to verify if the ambition that was photographed from Konami in the presentation of title were going to fulfill, and the certain thing is that it has not defrauded to us. To tell the truth, to enjoy this new system in all its splendor we must move both in elevated levels of difficulty more of the five that are supplied in the beginning of the game, since if we competed in the three rest, we will be castrating it and we will return to see very strange and devoid actions of sense on the part of the soccer players

Playing with Barcelona, we based our style on fast exits with Ronaldinho leading and opening the ball with it passes in depth towards Messi or Henry in the bands, centering from them towards Eto'o or to he himself Ronaldinho that was gotten up to the area from second line. Facing us the Italian selection we realized that initially Ronaldinho was very loose, allowing to send good you happen towards the ends, but as we repeated the play, the Italians chose to advance their average field to press to our 10. Also an individual marcaje took place on Messi and the centers that arrived from Henry did not find auctioneer from the sixth or seventh arrival, since the average defensive center was united to reject the hung balls. A small sample of how east Teamvision works, that promises to be a source of small the most experienced challenges for, since the detection works as much in defense, as in attack.

Concluding, we can say that this PES 2008 resembles more which must be a Pro Evolution Soccer of new generation, after the little benefit that PES6 made of the technology of Xbox 360. In this occasion the IA is their strongpoint, with lines of vision improved, support enough online - that we have not been able to evaluate in this version and several interesting details, that are united to that more faithful to the sport is the juiceable formula king in his digital recreation. We waited for a new beta next.

If the PS3 version is not at Leipzig, that's a very bad sign, in my opinion. I think the reason we've only seen the 360 version is actually because like a lot of developers they are struggling with the PS3. :|
