Check Winning eleven blog. They have them hosted on their website

Re: WE/PES 2008 Next Gen - Discussions Thread (Last Update 08/14/07)

Its a bit worrying that all the pics including the Master League and all the in game shots show nothing but cosmetic improvements.

Re: WE/PES 2008 Next Gen - Discussions Thread (Last Update 08/14/07)

Cut scenes were the last thing ML needs? No makes it more interactive, I really like these additions to the ML, think it will improve it alot, makes you feel for the team more, its like something you see on SkySport news, seeign your new signign coming to the stadium, and fans asking for autograph etc amazing.

Also yeah I saw the points, hopefully it changes to real currency.

Re: WE/PES 2008 Next Gen - Discussions Thread (Last Update 08/14/07)

Please tell me the Master League isn't only for PES United.. it would be cool to have real new signings in those cut scenes and not just fake players.

Re: WE/PES 2008 Next Gen - Discussions Thread (Last Update 08/14/07)

I think a proper league structure, proper currency, proper development, realistic transfers etc. are more important than cutscenes.

Seriously, what does autograph signing add to the game - it's a nice touch but after the second time you've seen it you'll just skip it, just like the sub animations etc. Konami should be getting the basics right first rather than adding in pointless cutscenes.

Yeah because its these elements that the ML really needs,....NOT!!!!

Tbh i couldnt care less what the player thinks about the new season or what the best pic of the fans that week was! I would rather have a new ML that actually represents a more realistic structure, or just a new structure. Anything has got to be better the the same old tired shit from the last few years.

However one positive element from the images is the team popularity ranking, which lends it self to the ML comments coming out about building up you team/stadium. Other then that, not a lot. However it could just be the general ranking thats already present in the ML with a new screen added. Essentialy nothing new at all then.

Re: WE/PES 2008 Next Gen - Discussions Thread (Last Update 08/14/07)

Could someone explain to me why konami isn't using real money in the master league like the euro?

Re: WE/PES 2008 Next Gen - Discussions Thread (Last Update 08/14/07)

We've seen a couple of screenshots of a better looking ML. I prefer this over the previous dull ones. Plus the new 4-5 division structure, stadium editing etc, this all should be good.

Re: WE/PES 2008 Next Gen - Discussions Thread (Last Update 08/14/07)

Let's face it people, all the news so far point at the usual konami directions: more or less same game, some useless addition to masterleague to cover lack of changes and limited team licenses, gameplay flows well with new animations but no substantial changes made in order to get rid of a 10 years old scripted gameplay.

Once again we are gonna be fed with yesterdays soup, good old soup but this game has not really gone anywhere for years.

The screens about the masterleague are nothing short of embarassing for a next gen machine.

Okay so it will be pretty decent when you sign a new player and you see him signing autographs or whatever. After the first 5+ buys i can imagine a lot of people skipping the cutscene straight away. I want aspects put into the ML that make it more realistic and other things that help improve the longevity of the mode.

Just read BrainWongs post. He says the exact same as me hah :P

Re: WE/PES 2008 Next Gen - Discussions Thread (Last Update 08/14/07)

I reckon it will be pretty cool, may get a bit boring, I dont really mind if we still have 16 teams in the top division, I just want more divisions witha suitable amount of teams :D

What type of things will make it more realistic and improve longevity? Realistic is the points to real money, but what will make you play it longer, surely you cans say leagues with 20 teams its only 4 more teams, I personally believe its down to what people like, if people geniunely like the ML, they will be the ones playing it a lot, I play ML a lot as it is now, so I think I will be with this anyway :D

Found this list on another site:

- 3 Buttons combination to press for a dive
- Very difficult to dive, because the refree give you often the yellow card
- shooting is better/harder
- no difference between pc and xbox360/ps3 version
- No more black screen confirmed after a foul for quick freekick
- Turkey National licence added
- New Menu more simple with blue world map on the background
- no more scripts, better control of the player
- the ball physique look more heavy
- Untucked shirts
- Full 3D fans
- Amazing collisions
- GoalKeepers very realistic

Seems a lot of people are blabbering on about the scripted gameplay and such so this should be good news for them. And the people knocking on about shirts not being untuckable etc etc.

Nice find, too bad it is old news, check the forum the next time cheers.

Re: WE/PES 2008 Next Gen - Discussions Thread (Last Update 08/14/07)

I want to be able to get sacked or resign like FIFA 07's career mode on the PS2.

Re: WE/PES 2008 Next Gen - Discussions Thread (Last Update 08/14/07)

Lets see for more realistic:

Reasons for offers being turned down
Realistic buying system for other teams. (Everton buying Zico and Socrates in their 2nd season)
Currency changed
Realistic Growth/Development system
More teams in each league

One thing i am glad to see changed so far is the menu system. I was sick feeling like i was playing a PS2 port no matter what resolution i put my game in. The introduction of adding your own music will greatly help the master league too.

I agree with you guys ,those screens (at the moment) shouldn't the focal point of Konami since there are so many more important issues to adress. Those interactions with the crowd would be good if the game had a proper career mode (ala FIFA).

Re: WE/PES 2008 Next Gen - Discussions Thread (Last Update 08/14/07)

These screens clearly show one fact: Seabass is 100% satisfied with the current ML and Ingame look of the game. He's directing his attention now to "cutscenes" and other crappy ideas that don't affect his beloved "perfect" game.

I must admit the cutscenes, though they look great now, would have to be considerable in size and variability to avoid boring repetition

With the euros/pes points argument, i think that the reason they dont do euros even though they could is time, consider at the moment that Kaka cost me about 20,000 pes points and the worst player about 300 thats a range of 300-20,000 points that players are worth, which means its not alot of work (relatively) to assign players a value

However if you add Euroes you suddenly have to really value players so instead of a scale of 300-20,000 pes points you have to do possibly 1000-30,000,000 euros meaning its alot harder to designate whos valued what which takes alot of time away from the design element of the game. If Konamis contingent is so small as we are led to believe then its no wonder they havent the time to value players with such a large scale.

And one final point on the matter, players such as Kaka who are worth perhaps 30,000,000 euros ingame are not relatively worth 3,000 times more to your team than a player worth 100,000, thats just the way pro evo is there isnt that huge a difference between Kaka and Downing (i know ill get slaughtered and i say Kaka is 300x the player downing is in real life). SO therfore if the gameplay does not allow for such a gap in great players to bad players it is pointless using euros because it the gameplay does not justify such a range of values.

Thats my 2 cents, hope it makes sense

Re: WE/PES 2008 Next Gen - Discussions Thread (Last Update 08/14/07)

Why do you guys ALWAYS assume the WORST? ALL we seen is a couple of a better looking ML. Nothing about proper ML yet. We don't know whether it's been improved or not (although last week some contacts did mention we have a new ML structure). Why not enjoy the moment? You're slagging it off liek someone assrued you it will be the same. Wait til leipzig is around then we should have a very clear picture of everything PES 2008 related.

Brilliant explanation about the currencies :applause:

As far as I'm concerned ,it allows me not to be really dissapointed when I'll get the game.It just shows how much I want it to be a terrific game I guess.

Re: WE/PES 2008 Next Gen - Discussions Thread (Last Update 08/14/07)

Well i want it to be terrific obviously. But to be honest i'm not the type who slags off anything unless i got solid proof. All what i've seen til now are good additions and i can only hope we can enjoy a proper ML structure.

Re: WE/PES 2008 Next Gen - Discussions Thread (Last Update 08/14/07)

One thing im not too sure about is the background, the blue with dots...seems very unpesish, wonder if the colour can be changed? A green would be nice

I haven't slagged off Konami that much ,all I hope is that those screeshots are coming along with some new and nice ML structure .New screenshots+ML new structure +improved gameplay = terrific game for me .
I'm just hoping for the best

Re: WE/PES 2008 Next Gen - Discussions Thread (Last Update 08/14/07)

doesnt tell us much more but at tleast the presentation looks better this time around. We really cold be doing with some concrete details and movies.

The only thing we're criticizing is the points system. We've heard from a source (might have been a fake game tester or a preview) that the currency system had changed. I think some people are just disappointed because of that.

I really do hope my suggestions above get added into the game. Its all well and good to back up why there isn't a proper currency system put in place but no matter how you justify it, people will still feel a bit disappointed.

I think you do not understand the TeamVision thing, do you? This wil get rid of that scripted gameplay.
Oh well, you DO understand it, but you are far too sceptic to believe it.
What else should you complain about ;)

Somthing else: No Euro's or Dollars? What is worrying about that is that my contact assured me this would be in the game. Now it is not the case, I wonder how reliable this source was... :(
