Re: WE/PES 2008 Next Gen - Discussions Thread (Last Update 08/03/07)

that's nice. i can't see why konami can't make a crowd that ressembles that crowd

Paying everyone on the stadium for the use of their image could be a bit bothersome.

Re: WE/PES 2008 Next Gen - Discussions Thread (Last Update 08/03/07)

There's no question regarding Greece and Wales in the game. However Israel and Latvia? There is absolutely no comparison between Egypt's accomplishments on both the Club and National Team level with these countries. Egyptian Clubs have dominated African Tournaments, and it's national team has a record for the AFC Nations Cup winnings and is holding the title. Our players are in the Premier League, the Bundesliga and all over Europe.

I mean Togo (with no soccer accomplishments whatsoever) finds itself in a crappy African Qualifier group and makes it to the world cup, and they get into PES2008. But Egypt that dominated African Soccer doesn't just because we had Ivory Coast and Cameroon in our WC qualifier group? (btw we beat cameroon home and away)

But other countries like Israel don't have to make it to the world cup to get a place in PES2008. I really can't find one logical reason to include their team. It's not like PES is lacking European National teams. What's next Luxembourg (no offense)?

I get your point and i do agree with you. But my point is, why add some and delete some? Just keep adding teams instead.

I agree. Even if the rosters go out of date pretty quickly, they must rrealize editing community is large.

Obviously I can see that they wouldn't want outdated stuff in there at all, but I don't understand why they don't take this as a hint that they need more people to handle the teams etc...

Re: WE/PES 2008 Next Gen - Discussions Thread (Last Update 08/03/07)

Looking at how little development has gone into it for the past few years, the team size (i think riot mentioned it last year that its around 10guys).

Seriously, ten people? That would be rather shocking if they did in fact have such a small team, i'm surprised they even manage to get these games out every year :p

In that case, i wonder why they don't just put more time between releases so that they can make more substantial additions to each version, or why they don't just hire some more people to help with the game.

I guess the answer to both of those would be money related though ;)

Anyway i'm looking forward to PES 2008, especially since i skipped the last version due to how gimped the 360 version was said to be feature-wise, and no longer having a ps2.

It will be fun to get back into it again, me and my mates always used to get every version of WE and PES and have big play sessions at each others houses

Re: WE/PES 2008 Next Gen - Discussions Thread (Last Update 08/03/07)

There is only one reason I can think of why they keep deleting teams instead of adding them; so that the research team doesn't have "too many teams" to research (what I mean is, they won't just leave e.g. Jamaica in, because there wouldn't be "enough researchers" to enter their updated stats etc...).

Meaning that Konami refuse to give Seabass enough of a budget to expand the game and we'll always have the same amount of teams.

Lol The Internet.
One guy could do all the Teams in PES in 1 day.

Re: WE/PES 2008 Next Gen - Discussions Thread (Last Update 08/03/07)

Konami is a really poor company if a team of 10 is making WE/PES.

They must be thinking they're "family" or something. Very unprofessional.

WE/PES seriously needs a competition.

Not por but the have there eggs in other baskets whereas EA are loaded &haveing other gaes on the go does not hurt them.

Konami need a set team for PES & other sport games.

KONAMI SPORTS.

Let them do other all the sport games exclusively i.e Baseball 7 Football.

Very, very good idea. Then we would see some fantastic results.

Just a shame that it will never happen!!

KONAMI SPORTS: It would be in the game if we could afford the licenses™

I honestly don't believe that Konami WE/PES tema consists only of 10 people. If so, it is a real achievement to create a game like PES.

What I wonder, however it is a bit off topic, what do those 250 people at FIFA team do all year? they make a mediocre game year after year after year!!!

Re: WE/PES 2008 Next Gen - Discussions Thread (Last Update 08/03/07)

In fact, I think that it would be cheaper than pay 250 people to kidnap one of the Konami WE/PES team members and force him to make a decent FIFA game.... that is for sure... fire 150 people and put the other 100 to work with the kidnapped guy!

Re: WE/PES 2008 Next Gen - Discussions Thread (Last Update 08/03/07)

The 250 ppl at EA repolish the sounds and graphics, add new features and try new ideas.

But it doesn't take 250 ppl to remap a gameplay. Gameplay issues are far too complex to be fixed "the easy way". Their sales will have to seriously go down before they attempt to do that.

Just look at how dull, unrealistic and boring a play that leads to a scored goal in Fifa looks like. The gameplay is beyond repair... yet they keep trying to fix it year after year.

Its hard to believe i agree. But im sure it was something similar for the core team (they have license lawyers and stuff, but the people actually making the game was very small from what i read). Hopefully riot can comment if he has the time. Ill see if i can find the post from last year........

Re: WE/PES 2008 Next Gen - Discussions Thread (Last Update 08/03/07)

I find it very hard to believe the team consists of 10 people.

I was convinced PES was a 1 man job by Seabass alone. What do the other 9 people do each year? Clean his office?

Re: WE/PES 2008 Next Gen - Discussions Thread (Last Update 08/03/07)

I'm hoping that they scrap the current grapic engine and instead make it all anime stylee.

it would be so kawaii

super kawaii

Re: WE/PES 2008 Next Gen - Discussions Thread (Last Update 08/03/07)

I think that pes 2008 will be a very good game and a huge improvement over the last pes. But i think that the fact that you can make schalbes is a very risky new feature from konami. If this is not worked out perfectly, it could ruin the entiry game. So i think it is best if konami won't add this future, or they must be completely sure about this.

Re: WE/PES 2008 Next Gen - Discussions Thread (Last Update 08/03/07)

Considering the events of 2003, Egypt should be banned from this game for precisely 14 years, starting 2 hours 37 minutes ago.

Sorry to sound rude but what are "schalbes"?

Re: WE/PES 2008 Next Gen - Discussions Thread (Last Update 08/03/07)

"Schalbes" is the codename from Konami meaning a "fully editable ML"

Yep, he means 'schwalbe' which is the German word for 'swan', has to do with 'elegant' way some players go down, like a 'starving swan' :)
