Re: WE/PES 2008 Next Gen - Discussions Thread (Last Update 08/03/07)

has anyone heard what animations have been added?

Re: WE/PES 2008 Next Gen - Discussions Thread (Last Update 08/03/07)

yeah .. this is why i hate Konami
PES is no 1 game in Egypt .. and Egypt is not in game :(
why some team has no football like (Israel , Finland , Greece , Latvia and Wales ) in PES 2008 ??
why Konami ignore us ??
and Israel in game ?? hahahahahahahah :lmao: .. this is the biggest joke in the history :lol:
i am very angry and i really hate you Konami :spid:

but i love your PES

I hope you are joking. The teams you mentioned do have good players worth having a team and Egypt arent exactly champions of the world so chill.
Israel: Aouate, Ben Haim, Benayoun, Ben Sahar.
Finland: Niemi, Jaaskelainen, Litmanen, Hyypia, Tainio, Kolkka, Forssell etc.
Greece: Nikopolidis, Seitaridis, Dellas, Basinas, Giannakopolous, Karagounis, Katsouranis, Samaras, Charisteas etc
Wales: Giggs, Bellamy, Earnshaw, Simon Davies, Koumas, Gabbidon, Delaney, Bale etc.
You cannot laugh at such players participating in top level European football. They deserve a national team being included. All i am saying is that other teams do too.

I would love to play a full qualifying campaign whether it was Europe, Africa, South America, Asia or North/Central America. Having more than enough space on the DVD or Bluray gives Konami no excuse not to include all them national teams. In fact what bothers me more is that some of the teams are actually in the game to play against but cannot be picked to play with..? WTF is that about? They're already IN the database so why not just include them anyway? Fucking retarded.

Re: WE/PES 2008 Next Gen - Discussions Thread (Last Update 08/03/07)

There is only one reason I can think of why they keep deleting teams instead of adding them; so that the research team doesn't have "too many teams" to research (what I mean is, they won't just leave e.g. Jamaica in, because there wouldn't be "enough researchers" to enter their updated stats etc...).

Meaning that Konami refuse to give Seabass enough of a budget to expand the game and we'll always have the same amount of teams.

they have teams u can play against but not use them? how is that? is that the coming pes or was it on previous pes?

Re: WE/PES 2008 Next Gen - Discussions Thread (Last Update 08/03/07)

Mate relax.

We Greeks are European Champs man. We dont deserve 3 teams at least in the game?Get serious...

My team AEK Athens won Milan in last years champions league!

Relax...

I was screaming all these years to Konami, to put AEK in the game. It is known in the forum...Lol

Previous PES. For example pick Any Asian team and play the international challenge mode. You'll have teams in your group who aren't there for you to pick in exhibition mode. They're only in the database to play against. Oh and another thing, Japan has extra hidden stats which aren't available for any other team. Whatever.

In International Challenge there's a lot of teams you will play against that you can't control, such as (if I remember rightly) Iraq, Kuwait etc...

I don't know why, perhaps they're full of fake players and they're not researched.

EDIT: Lami got there before me. :mryellow:

I think it will be in both games though, not just PES6. If there is an International Challenge in PES2008, which I would assume there is, then these non-playable teams will be there again (as the International team list has been announced and they're not on there).

Re: WE/PES 2008 Next Gen - Discussions Thread (Last Update 08/03/07)

Nokami must be making a bucket load of cash from this game. Looking at how little development has gone into it for the past few years, the team size (i think riot mentioned it last year that its around 10guys) compared to fifa's 250, the lack of use of the hardware format (both ps2 and nextgen) with regard to data. Jack's comment about not adding teams and instead replacing them could be very likely to do with the team size and research time needed per team.

Essentially they add a few animations per year, adjust a few teams and maybe add a fluff feature or two whilst removing some other stuff. Its sad.

Re: WE/PES 2008 Next Gen - Discussions Thread (Last Update 08/03/07)

What 10 guys??? I can't believe that. If that is true I stop complaining for good.

Re: WE/PES 2008 Next Gen - Discussions Thread (Last Update 08/03/07)

@JB Jack i don't think it has to do with researchers, look to footbal manager, they have so many teams and players, that it is possible to get it in.

And with the fifpro license i think they are allowed to use those names as well, arent they?

Re: WE/PES 2008 Next Gen - Discussions Thread (Last Update 08/03/07)

After listening to the podcast today, I have a strong feeling the premiership will be licensed plus having official leagues and tournaments. That's just me trying to read between the lines.

Re: WE/PES 2008 Next Gen - Discussions Thread (Last Update 08/03/07)

Are you joking? It's like they cut Drogba's head off and put it in the game.

Some people on this forum are bloody jokers at times!

I honestly thought that in the next-game WE/PES, with no storage limitations (Blue Ray, somebody?), we would have a HUGE amount of teams and new leagues... how innocent can be a man... :(
Yep, that's what i thought to.

I used to think maybe the reason why Konami couldn't put more teams in the PS2 games is because they might be limited in space (which is debatable), but with Blue Ray disks i don't think they've got an excuse.

Re: WE/PES 2008 Next Gen - Discussions Thread (Last Update 08/03/07)

Stringer Bell... I agree it is funny how Israel has been included into the game on the expense of many other more deserving nations :)

A glimpse into the future.... this time with real crowds on the edited grass and adboards. Somehow, the shot still doesn't look as satisfying as it should have been...

that's nice. i can't see why konami can't make a crowd that ressembles that crowd

Re: WE/PES 2008 Next Gen - Discussions Thread (Last Update 08/03/07)

regarding the national teams that have been left out, can't we just add them once we get the game, i.e put them in over the classic teams...like previously

Re: WE/PES 2008 Next Gen - News/Discussions Official Thread (Last Update 07/24/07)

Maybe I misinterpreted what you really meant to say, but it appeared to me and to others that you were laughing at the racist joke like some of the others.

Sorry if you didn't mean it, but you should not have responded the way you did to that post. A rolling smiley face in response to a racist joke looks like you are laughing at the joke. Maybe you didn't mean it that way, but other saw you as racist. Be more careful.

I hate racism, and I won't tolerate any encouragement of it... even if accidental.

no maybe, you misinterpreted

Re: WE/PES 2008 Next Gen - Discussions Thread (Last Update 08/03/07)

Regarding the football manager comment. Remember they actually signed a deal with the makers of that game (or a similar manager game, cant remember exactly) for the stats as they were aware that their own stats werent always up to scratch for the lesser known players. Riot asked him about it in an interview (round the time of the pes6 release i believe) and they just said they never got round to doing anything with that deal. What a waste. And representative of the team as a whole i believe. They seem to be in their own world pottering away on little things while substantial elements are ignored. Even when they have a deal like that in place to relieve the team from data input duties. They just dont bother with it.

Also the shorts look a bit odd in the images, with regard to how they "fold" away with the movement. You can see that with the turkish nr 8 and the drogbe one aswell. His right leg in the one that he's turning. Hopefully it will look good "live".

There's no question regarding Greece and Wales in the game. However Israel and Latvia? There is absolutely no comparison between Egypt's accomplishments on both the Club and National Team level with these countries. Egyptian Clubs have dominated African Tournaments, and it's national team has a record for the AFC Nations Cup winnings and is holding the title. Our players are in the Premier League, the Bundesliga and all over Europe.

I mean Togo (with no soccer accomplishments whatsoever) finds itself in a crappy African Qualifier group and makes it to the world cup, and they get into PES2008. But Egypt that dominated African Soccer doesn't just because we had Ivory Coast and Cameroon in our WC qualifier group? (btw we beat cameroon home and away)

But other countries like Israel don't have to make it to the world cup to get a place in PES2008. I really can't find one logical reason to include their team. It's not like PES is lacking European National teams. What's next Luxembourg (no offense)?

Regarding Football Manager and their database, they have a huge amount of fans of the game acting as researchers for them around the world, for almost every club.
It has taken them many years to build this up, if Konami should do something similar plus getting everyones face right, that would be a monstrous job.

Re: WE/PES 2008 Next Gen - Discussions Thread (Last Update 08/03/07)

Take a look in the editing forum n4tor. PES has a similarly dedicated fan base working on stats. As for konami having to do the same and the time it would take, wasnt that what the deal with footie manager was for?! Being able to use footie managers stats in pes games. They just never used it, bunch of fools!

And as for the faces to work on, i think most people here would gladly settle for the main leagues (prem/bundes/lique1/primera/serieA) and the top teams from the rest of the teams having accurate faces while the rest of the teams and leagues (championship/secunda/seriaB/etc) having fairly generic stats and faces with similarly generic kits. Just actually having these extra teams would be great! Theyve got the editing suite in place that it wouldnt matter how accurate the "rest" are as, slots/memory permitting, we can make them as accurate as possible anyway. But they continue to dissapoint, and as long as they continue to sell millions and have fifa as the lesser game they wont change either. There's just no point from a business perspective.

I take it that is just a preview with information we already know?

Re: WE/PES 2008 Next Gen - Discussions Thread (Last Update 08/03/07)

All the screens with editing, menues and german scans are all old and have already been discussed.

I think the Drogba screenshots look good, and I'm glad they added movement to the clothes, being it too much or too little, doesn't touch me.
