Erm, undoubtedly graphics are better than PS2, but I wouldn't call it some kind of groundbreaking leap. Just a minor polishing. Player models look almost identical, just added things like better grass, better things on the sidelines and so forth. Certainly not as good as FIFA in terms of detail, even if the shorts look silly.
But who really cares? If the game doesn't play like crap in single player (i'm looking at you PES6!) i'll be happy with ISS graphics

Im really happy with these screens, they are clearly from the same build as the first ones, but i was quite pleased with thoes as well.. shirt pulling looks great hopefully it adds a bit more to the gameplay as uposed to just being a pretty asthetic though.
Loving the training screen, it looks like it might be a bit more robust this time round.. possibly during master league?
I think if these are as early as the first ones are 'claimed' to be by the konami rep, we have alot to look forward to.
so please lets stop bashing the quality of the screens and await the 5th july

i don't understand how you can prefer the fifa gfx.
they are so unrealistic and over the top in everyway.
things don't look like that in real life. shirts should not shine that much during a night game.

It's more the skin textures that impress me with FIFA. Some of it is ridiculous, like the shiny shirts, but if you pause the replays you can see so much detail in the skin; the sweat (which I believe PES 2008 has now), the pores of the skin, everything. It's all in the detail. The skin on PES, though, looks like plastic. Yes, a patch could fix it, but A) you'll have a job patching a PS3 game and B) you shouldn't have to anyway.
If they fix that before release then the graphics would, in my opinion, appear ten times better - less plastic and more realistic. Combined with everything else, they would look great. But at the moment, the graphics are just depressing. In some areas you feel like Konami can't be arsed, and when you look at the other 360/PS3 games it's really disappointing.

lets hope we see some hi res shots of these in the near future.

Animations are clearly amazing. But the graphics.... Thinking about it, I don't really mind last year's 360 graphics with amazing animations. But why do that when the graphics could have been easily improved?

What I am worried about is Afonso Alves animation/stance when his shirt gets pulled. It looks robotic like the running animation in the PS2 games.
Otherwise, I think the graphics and everything looks and sounds fantastic; I can't wait. I'm satisfied so far. =)

Tbh this was a pleasant surprise. I didnt expect new pics until the 5th.
Really excited to see more pics from PSM3. A bit dissapointed though as it seems all the pics that will be released right now are from the same build of the game that was used for the press release
