Re: WE/PES 2008 Next Gen - News/Discussions Official Thread (Last Update 06/28/07)

The article in OPM contains some information that I wasn't aware of:

"Our favourite improvements are two small things that we've been requesting for years. The first is the ability to choose which players attack and defend set pieces. Playing as Man Utd and want both Vidic and Rio up to attack corners? Now you can. You can also designate how many players (and which ones) stand in the wall on free kicks, ending the days where you'd watch helplessly as Andrea Pirlo curled a humdinger over the heads of your two midget wingers and nippy-but-tiny front man"

can you scan the full page ?

Re: WE/PES 2008 Next Gen - News/Discussions Official Thread (Last Update 06/28/07)

One good thing is that we'll be able to have the old control back to the WE/PES. The PS3 controller will be easy for users of the PS2 game and hopefully anyone who experience the 360 vers last year has got round the initial reaction of that control set up and will enjoy their vers. this year more

i think thats alfonso alves... and the other guys is wearing robhinos number but looks like emereson
for me it's clearly Ronaldo profil (fat face) and Robinho in training

Yeah no problems, will have to wait until after 6pm when I get home from work.

Quality stuff people, all of you.

Thanks tobi for the scans, and kamy100 for the transcription... Sounds great indeed. Could these tiny touches be what gave the PSM3 guys that fuzzy PES-loving feeling? It sure gave it to me :)

And the pictures look great, even though I wouldn't get my hopes up just yet... Remember that sometimes these pictures are actually pre-rendered stuff to show to the press.

Yes, this sentence seems a bit contraditory against the "pre-beta stuff", but bear in mind that it might be.

...I sure hope not, though :)

Cheers,

Paulo Tavares

True, but I can't see Konami releasing a pre-rendered shot of Robinho on the training ground from that distance. It doesn't make sense.

I agree, also looks like Carvalho doing the shirt pulling and Deco ball watching

Re: WE/PES 2008 Next Gen - News/Discussions Official Thread (Last Update 06/28/07)

wonder if you literally push 10 players into the box for a last minute corner or free kick. that would be awesome. as at present pes6 stops me from doing taking toomany players from defence and midfield up.

last seconds of added time, relgation decider match, score is 0-0 and i need a winner, or world cup final and losing 2-1, need last gasp equaliser to take ito extra time. mass of bodies , ball richochets to striker, he pokes it in! the whistle blows!! :applause:

robinho is the guy in the training picture.

Re: WE/PES 2008 Next Gen - News/Discussions Official Thread (Last Update 06/28/07)

they nailed it with the gras itlooks very realistic. Unlike fifa that has beautiful detailed gras bat isn't realistic.

Re: WE/PES 2008 Next Gen - News/Discussions Official Thread (Last Update 06/28/07)

WOW!

The pics looks amazing! and they don't look very much ingame pics too. They do look a lot more polished and of better quality than the 360 version.

The shirt pulling looks beautiful!

And the player proportions look outstanding!

Everything, from the small details to the grass textures look spot on!

I love this time of year, I am so excited and eagerly anticipating more news, pics, and video from this God blessing of a game.

Seabass, your a genius!

Re: WE/PES 2008 Next Gen - News/Discussions Official Thread (Last Update 06/28/07)

wow i didnt notice those training manakins ThomasGoal till you pointed them out, i always hated when practicing free kicks in training that i couldnt change the number of players in the wall, i hope you can choose the number in training so you can basically just shoot at goal

Re: WE/PES 2008 Next Gen - News/Discussions Official Thread (Last Update 06/28/07)

...

Am I the only one who thinks the graphics are exactly the same?

Re: WE/PES 2008 Next Gen - News/Discussions Official Thread (Last Update 06/28/07)

Don't get me wrong, I'm not deliberately being negative!!

I'm just saying that people are going "WOW, those graphics are WAY BETTER than they are in the original screenshots that were released a week or two ago" - but I can't see any difference whatsoever, apart from a shirt being pulled.

Please tell me if I'm missing something, because I want to be blown away with the graphics. But I still look at these shots, then look at the next-gen baseball game Konami have made (or FIFA 08, or any other next-gen game for that matter) and I just think, surely you could have done better than that?

Yes gameplay is more important, blah blah blah, but there's a programming department and an art department, so everything should be improved in equal amounts.

I think that the pictures do look better than the ones released last week. Also have to note that pictures in OPM are at least 2 months old as they need them that far in advance due to publishing turnaround times so the game should look even better now.
