ye . espinas ... right midfield right?

Re: PES 2008 Next Gen - News/Discussions Official Thread

I think it's sometimes healthy to remember that PES is a videogame, and not the essence which holds the universe together. Seabass and Konami are not obligated by contract to make us the game of our dreams, but they do try, and we should be thankful, instead of always whining about every small detail not excactly being up to our standards.

Re: PES 2008 Next Gen - News/Discussions Official Thread

I think you are wrong. I think we agree that Konami's statement from today was an official one, right? Just see what they write: "However, the most noticeable improvement PES 2008 will offer over its predecessors (apart from Teamvision of course) is the graphics. Konami promises it will be a true next-gen experience, so there will be proper facial animations, shirt pulling and kits that flow and crease as the players run around.
Sounds like a different engine to me :)

I wish I am wrong too.....but does not take a new engine to get those things done.

Re: PES 2008 Next Gen - News/Discussions Official Thread

the ball physics better be great , would like more movement on the ball and for it to feel a bit more heavy.

Re: PES 2008 Next Gen - News/Discussions Official Thread

Re: PES 2008 Next Gen - News/Discussions Official Thread

new engine better be for gameplay and a.i as a pes fan grapghics are only 30% of the thing i look for in game, as gta had crap grapghics but it was gameplay that made that series and so did it for pes

Re: PES 2008 Next Gen - News/Discussions Official Thread

Well, i'll make yet another reference to basketball games:

Last year, when screens came out for both NBA Live 07 and NBA2K7, 2K7 seemed very bad in comparision, a lot less detail on the players etc.

BUT, when both games are moving, NBA2K7 destroys NBA Live.

I'm hoping we will see the same thing here.

Rant mode on:

Seabass, I know you're reading this, if you put Estádio do Dragão from Porto in the game and forget to include Estádio da Luz from Benfica there WILL be a civil war in Portugal, and many people shall die thanks to you. Bear that in mind will ya? Thanks.

Rant mode off/

Re: PES 2008 Next Gen - News/Discussions Official Thread

hope a video about wednesday and more details on master leage and edit features, yo will u be able to place a patch on the ps3 cuz editing is to long foe me need one of fernando or someones option file ? , hopefully then no problems with licenses and with the great gameplay it will be a stepforward for konami after taking it easy for 3 years on ps2.

Re: PES 2008 Next Gen - News/Discussions Official Thread

when will the review of the announcment from WENB team be up? (Time)

Re: PES 2008 Next Gen - News/Discussions Official Thread

Editing will far more popular now with PC data files being much more easier to transfer onto PS3 (memory stick, HDD), Xbox 360 (HDD, network) and PSP (memory stick) so we'll see alot more people doing patches.

However I'm chuffed with Brazil and Portugal being licenced, the only big nation left unlicenced now is Germany.

Re: PES 2008 Next Gen - News/Discussions Official Thread

when they release a video, i hope it's not from the beta or 'early' version too.

i want the gold version.

Re: PES 2008 Next Gen - News/Discussions Official Thread

there is alot of negativity going around right now on EVO-WEB and the whole internet. but guys honestly these are press release images. wait for a video or full resolution pictures and then we can decide. just give it time... after that if its not impressive then insult it all you want!!

It's always the same my brother, some people will never be pleased?

Re: PES 2008 Next Gen - News/Discussions Official Thread

this is my statement of the whole situation ... i guess the game is great in every way it is just poeple r complaining coz of gfx even me but ..1 they can only get better .... i dont no if u lot agree but as i said the game is ok no probs with it but the problem is that koanmi , nokami , sonami or whatever made us wait to long so expectation was sky high agreed?

Re: PES 2008 Next Gen - News/Discussions Official Thread

gonna go have a snack when i come bk i wanna see lots pf posts .. .i am in a reading mood :P

Re: PES 2008 Next Gen - News/Discussions Official Thread

i don't post much but i have looked at these forums since WE7 came out in the States. Every year it's the same old stuff about how Konami have screwed us with this or that and how last years version was better and blah...blah...blah...
but the fact remains that Konami have consistently produced an amazing football game year in and year out. Hands down the best. FIFA is a joke and that is coming from an American who has played FIFA since the very first one on the Sega Genesis. I don't by any means think that WE/Pro Evo is perfect and there are things that annoy me but to constantly bitch about something as minor as some early screenshots is utterly ridiculous and also to compare FIFA and WE is utterly ridiculous. I for one do not even agree with the people who think that FIFA is so far superior in the graphics department either. I think the stadiums look better in FIFA but the players don't and the ball physics are attrocious in FIFA. But I'm not writing this to bash FIFA, I'm writing this b'c i feel like i need to say something about the negetivity here with the announcement that was just made. i have faith that Konami will make an amazing game and everyone will love it for the most part and I promise thatcome this time next year when the announcement of PES 2009 and the screenshots come out the same people who are bitching about PES 2008 will be saying how great it was and how shitty PES 2009 looks and so forth...
If the game itself was perfect and to everyone's liking in every facet then there would be no new games to make each year and everyone would bitch about that too. PES 2008 will be awesome but will also be with some flaws as is the case each year. Just chill out and wait for the game to come and then bitch about it.

I fully agree, too!

Re: PES 2008 Next Gen - News/Discussions Official Thread

Agreed proevoman.

However like someone said earlier, if they had some decent PR then amybe expectations could be more 'controlled' rather than a mad frenzy.

Also they dont help things along when some insider makes stupid comment comparing next gen graphics with fifa 07, and then the next day they release these pictures above.

But im keeping my mnind open again, we should obviously be able to tell more when we see the game moving.

One good thing is that the whole 18 gb game size theory is pretty much out of the window.

To be more precise; people got skyhigh expectancy of the graphics and then they showed us old, not up-to date graphics. About gameplay: They superseeded my expectancy with teamvision :)

Re: PES 2008 Next Gen - News/Discussions Official Thread

oh and why do Konami think footy players play football in cycling shirts? They look like something from Right said Fred.

It sounds like i have a lot against Konami, i really dont, i do enjoy there games, i always end up feeling how much better it could be though.

so what do you have to say about fifa 08 and EA then?

Re: PES 2008 Next Gen - News/Discussions Official Thread

a.i. will contribute alot to the size so 18gb seems high but about 12gb would be realistic. if they do good modifications with master league it will be good enogh , and animations are very vital double the animation in the last game and = realistic gameplay. the screenshots show the players in different positions and looks like more movement for upper and lower body.
