Re: WE/PES 2008 Next Gen - Discussions Thread (Last Update 07/30/07)

ML on the PS2 after a couple of seasons gets to easy, especially when the players developing is on. Players developing needs to be sorted out asap, Tom Huddlestone is an awesome player but he has no pace at all, so why after 2/3 seasons is he as fast as Ledley King?

International Challenge is much more of a challenge than ML.

I've said all that yet I just started a new ML with Athletico Madrid, go figure!

Re: WE/PES 2008 Next Gen - Discussions Thread (Last Update 07/30/07)

Hm, that's weird. I used to be able to beat the ML teams 3-0, but I'm talking 3-4 years ago. Since then the most I can manage is a 1-0 or a 2-0, once every five games. I've stopped playing it regularly though, and I am crap at practically every other game in existence, so... Perhaps it's just me.

I don't think you're crap. I think you're busy saving the president's ass, Jack Bauer. :8):

Why don't you try starting ML with a very weak team? That way even developing takes much more time and the game is more challenging.

i've done that with castello n co already

Re: WE/PES 2008 Next Gen - Discussions Thread (Last Update 07/30/07)

Of course this means nothing without gameplay to back it up, and we all know who usaually wins in that department.
i do think them fifa graphics look amazing and the colour is brilliant. but we all know that the gameplay wont compare to pes2008.also that is an unfair comparison of the images. fifa 08 (best pic) vs pes2008(worst pic)

Re: WE/PES 2008 Next Gen - Discussions Thread (Last Update 07/30/07)

FIFA has proper manual passing? Or at least through balls....if only Konami had the balls to try something like that.

Re: WE/PES 2008 Next Gen - Discussions Thread (Last Update 07/30/07)

sjees its getting time for some PS3 vids

Re: WE/PES 2008 Next Gen - Discussions Thread (Last Update 07/30/07)

I am sure this time around they might give us proper manual passing rather than Semi Automatic passing.

Re: WE/PES 2008 Next Gen - Discussions Thread (Last Update 07/30/07)

Just for the record Every PES/WE single player i have played has been on top stars and has always been very easy. I always laugh when i read posts about how people are playing on 3 stars becuase i can walk through a team on 3 stars

maybe i am just too good :)

also ML is shit and easy always will be shit and easy until they make it like football manager

Re: WE/PES 2008 Next Gen - Discussions Thread (Last Update 07/30/07)

lol @ coopz well that was blunt and straight to the point. If they made it like their PES Management game it would be alright :)

Re: WE/PES 2008 Next Gen - Discussions Thread (Last Update 07/30/07)

Ok.. Well how about.. playing ML without players developing? ;)

my current ML is like that.

speaking of stars i hope they bring them back, i dont like the whole top player nonsense

Re: WE/PES 2008 Next Gen - Discussions Thread (Last Update 07/30/07)

I play ML on the J-League 06/07 game and the world tour mode seems harder than ML. with Marseille I can win most of my ML games while in world tour I find it difficult creating chances.

Re: WE/PES 2008 Next Gen - Discussions Thread (Last Update 07/30/07)

Where is Euro Elite,World Elite ? They should even add Africa Elite ,Asia Elite and America Elite.
I really used to love these terrific matches (Euro vs World)

Exactly. I think a good player has no challenge playing against CPU, not talking about an excellent player.

Another way to have a real challenge against CPU is putting CPU team with red arrows (up arrows) and your team with white/purple arrows (down arrows). That is a real challenge, you need to pass the ball around quickly

lol

Was there any reason to take this element off the game ,Konami have to stop adding and then deleting other stuff cause it's so ridiculious.

OFF TOPIC: It might be useless but I also think the Zidane roulette could do with some improvements in its animations. In PES you'll never be able to the kinda of stuff Zidane did on his opponents ( to go between 2 defenders in one movement). In PES it's done very quicky and unefficiently whereas in real life it's a classy move .They should also include a nutmeg button ,which would hard to perform depending on several elements ,players abilities, opponent and also situation and timing .

Yes I always think of this animation.

Zidane pushes the ball first with the side of his heel, then recieves it with the sole (undersurface) of his other boot in one classy move...

Also Ronaldinho's flip-flap looks terrible in PES6.... in reality the ball leaves the ground only in 10% of the time... however, 90% of the time it's on the ground as Ronny pushes the ball with the tip of his foot then quickly pushes it sideways with the side of his big toe without it leaving the ground...

It also travels much further (followed by a Ronaldinho speed burst)... so it won't look completely useless as it is in PES6.

Re: WE/PES 2008 Next Gen - Discussions Thread (Last Update 07/30/07)

Groan, let it go!!! Its his opinion, end of. I used to play a lot of multiplayer and loved it (pes3/4) but now all my gaming friends, as well as myself, have more important things in life and dont have the time to meet up and play regularly. So now im left with a game that i only play in singleplayer. My, and Jack's opinion is based on personal experience / taste. And with that it will get its moans, ratings and complements. Jack's not a f#$%ing review site / mag is he?! He has no obligation to comment/review the game from a general perspective, and nor is he attempting to. FFS he has to add "imo", "from my point of view", etc, etc in nearly every sentence just to stop the rest of the dickheads having a go at him for being negative about the game. Which he is entitled to, as well as anybody else and their opinion. Why are you so hung up on him basing his opinion on the game with the added element that YOU think is great?! Is his opinion so important to you that you need it? J'sus........

Who are you to say what he should or shouldnt do?! He's clearly, and far more elequently then you have ever posted, written his opinion. All he SHOULD do is follow the rules of the forum, nothing more or less.
then dont fucking bitch if your only going to play the game for one certain aspect of it... thats my point. Thats like saying man i love watching man united play at old trafford, BUT THERE HOT DOGS AND BEER SUCK!

Those are some special moves and could something satisfaying feeling to the game whenever pulled at the right time/situation/player .The Zidane roulette just define the player he was, a class act

It's perfectly realistic to buy PES purely to play the Master League, whereas you don't go to Man Utd to eat. That's no kind of comparison.

Did you read my reply to you Gomito? I don't really want to argue about this over and over. I buy it for the ML, you buy it for the multiplayer, we should both get our money's worth and the fact is that I don't. End of. So you can be happy with your game, but let me voice what is wrong with my game, in the vain hope that it will be read by a Konami representative and fixed one day.

Re: WE/PES 2008 Next Gen - Discussions Thread (Last Update 07/30/07)

Here are just a few things that I would like to see implemented. Just things I have noticed playing PES6.

The thing that irritates me most is the lack of close control, if you take the ball on the chest it starts a lengthy animation which usualy ends up in a swich of posession. I would like to see an initial touch and then the ball physics to take over, it would even things up and if directed correctly could be used to play in strikers etc.

Shooting is anoying at times too, don't get me wrong i love banging home shot from 25 yards, but what happened to the placed shot i know we can still do them but it was much easier previously. It just doesnt feel right to drop the shoulder and slam it in from 10 yards, i want to slot it in to the corner and watch the net ripple.

Defending now also consists of two options. Either hold X and run hand in hand with the attacker till one of you run off of the pitch or hit O and bite the bullet. We need the X tackle to be more agressive, dare i say it more in keeping with fifa's O challenge although not as automatic.

Urrgh i could go on and on but these things address the key issues of gameplay i would like to see improved.

FIFA with fully analog Through balls? Great, maybe KONAMI will do the same in a few years (Hint: you will die an old man before that happens).

Wow, you are an idiot. Do you even think before typing?! Remember this is a forum for people to share their opinions about whatever aspect of the game they feel like. Or do we all have to run our opinions/comments by you to see if you deem it worthy?! There is a large group of people on here that are getting really frustrated with pes because of the lack of single player development. What should they do? Not say anything because you like your multiplayer game(s)? Dont be so f#$ing ignorant!

If Konami do that I will never log onto this forum again.
