still no one explained to me what GRASS-LEAVES mean...

Just the grass mate, I guess the article tries to say its so detailed you can see individual blades of grass.

Re: WE/PES 2008 Next Gen - Discussions Thread (Last Update 07/26/07)

Err no Embrace, I do know the game for starters and it shows a fair bit of in game footage in that trailer, especially at the end in the dual screen mode. My point was there is a phenomenal amount of calculations being made to generate that battlefield, yet it still has a phenomenal level of detail - they are also making use of DX10 which I highly doubt Konami would bother with.

im yet to see any detail from the screenshots, but since when have konami bothered with grass? its always looked average...

Re: WE/PES 2008 Next Gen - Discussions Thread (Last Update 07/26/07)

One thing you guys wont be complaining about is the graphics. Even at its beta stage it looks incredible, much better than Fifa 07.

As ever though, no point looking pretty and having non-revolutionary gameplay.

So are you saying these are not the final graphics and they're gonna improve a lot? or I understood that wrong...

Re: WE/PES 2008 Next Gen - Discussions Thread (Last Update 07/26/07)

I have to say for me the game is shaping up well - however one thing worries me. The aforementioned "breeze blocks". These were present in every stadium in the 360 version and it completely ruined the feeling of playing in different realistic stadia - as no stadium in the world has these "breeze blocks" holding the net down! if these are in every goal on the ps3 version i will be gutted.

I think Konami hired Claude Monet to paint the grass...

Re: WE/PES 2008 Next Gen - Discussions Thread (Last Update 07/26/07)

Reda the translation ont eh blog, tnx guys. Well i guess that confirms that the ML is the same. Everybody knows what pimps mean, had it been overhauled (as is nessecary) then they would have formulated it differently. However saying pimped means its basicly the same but with added bells and whisltes, pubscenes and interviews. :(

Re: WE/PES 2008 Next Gen - Discussions Thread (Last Update 07/26/07)

How can you have a proper master league when there is a clear lack of leagues??? We would need at least three divisions not the 2 divisions 24 teams format, but since they don't want spend money on getting new league (even some minor ones would be appreciated cheapBass) that's what we get, the usual crap.

I guess I'm not the only one thinking the grass looks like it's painted onto a canvas with a nice set of watercolours.

Re: WE/PES 2008 Next Gen - Discussions Thread (Last Update 07/26/07)

I know TG already posted something like this and it was his idea but his was with the lower res pics so credit goes to TG for the idea

Re: WE/PES 2008 Next Gen - Discussions Thread (Last Update 07/26/07)

Kaka really looks like Keanu Reeves....

I really don't care much for the graphics but honestly is still pretty weak. Look at the low res budges. And why can't they change that bloody color palette once in a lifetime.

But it does give the feeling that in motion is gonna be excellent.

Thanks Thomas :)
Is there anything new about PES 2008 in these scans? I do not understand French...

Re: WE/PES 2008 Next Gen - Discussions Thread (Last Update 07/27/07)

Excellent shots coming up these days and the winningeleven blog is outstanding, just outstanding.

The only thing that worries me now is that PES ball. It looks horrible :-P

Re: WE/PES 2008 Next Gen - Discussions Thread (Last Update 07/27/07)

According to OPM magazine (French) that ball is a temporary solution while Konami is negaciating for licensed balls...so don't worry about that ball..

Re: WE/PES 2008 Next Gen - Discussions Thread (Last Update 07/27/07)

Stan, that makes complete sense. Maybe they are also negotiating the licenses for the 2 Premier League clubs too?

Re: WE/PES 2008 Next Gen - Discussions Thread (Last Update 07/27/07)

- Joypad play on a 360 version of the game at 75% (like all preview, still no PS3)
- Crazy details on faces for the stars
- Great collisions
- The referee uses a whistle
- Many passing-animations
- Alot frame rate problem
- Gameplay look the same
- Better ball protection (better collision)
- better control for pass (more sharp)
- Irritated coach
- Player go up their socks
- New camera on PK (behind the goalkeeper) when the computer shoot
- No times for try really the teamvision (but much better AI in very hard)
- no access to training mode, master league and online mode for the moment
- Scenario mode on PS2 no Next gen
- Latvia is replaced by Israeli national team

a lot frame rate problem???? what is that???
Joypad play on a 360 version ??? i dont like the stick, i want to continue using the pad (ps3) ........

Re: WE/PES 2008 Next Gen - Discussions Thread (Last Update 07/27/07)

frame rate problem??? do you mean lag (relentisation) like in we 9 when you play with all crowd on the stadium???

Re: WE/PES 2008 Next Gen - Discussions Thread (Last Update 07/27/07)

I said this before, I really fear that the frame-rate problem won´t be solved. Whenever you read in a review that a game had this problem it was never fixed in the final version. A lot of PS3 games are suffering from that problem and I think it´s down to programming skills to fix it. I never read anything about this problem about Call of Duty 4 and that is graphically top notch. I´ll still buy the game, but Konami would have really screwed up with it.

Re: WE/PES 2008 Next Gen - Discussions Thread (Last Update 07/27/07)

sounds like it. slowdown on busy parts of the game.

No crowd in the first 50 rows on this game either then. lol
