Re: UEFA Champions League 2006-2007 - [Group Stage - Round 5]

Go on the Barca.

Go on the Roma.

FD

I will agree with half of that, come one Werder. ;)

It will be very tough for Werder tbh, playing Barca at home is no mean feat not many teams get a result their.

Edit: 1-0 Barca, ouch!!!!

Re: UEFA Champions League 2006-2007 - [Group Stage - Round 6]

Does fourth place in the World Cup and second in the last Euro mean something? I think so. Does Porto's victory against CSKA mean something? I think so.
Does Spartak's victory against Sporting mean something? Yes, it does. It means Sporting's defence is a highway. Nothing else. Even Benfica beat Sporting last Friday.

Benfica will win as well, mate. :p

Re: UEFA Champions League 2006-2007 - [Group Stage - Round 6]

Don´t even bother...

It ill be too good to be true , benfica win in old trafford but let´s pray , benfica in the last CL beat liverpool in highbury :)

And i think FC Porto ill have a easy win :D

Anfield mate, I hope Benfica cause an upset, how's Rui Costa doing, is he fit to play? It's more likely that Porto go through than Benfica because of home advantage (no Henry as well), it's going to be tough for both Portuguese teams but I think one will go to the next round though.

Re: UEFA Champions League 2006-2007 - [Group Stage - Round 6]

Good win for Man Utd tonight, moments of 90's United, very good to see. :)

December 12 for both CL 2nd round and Uefa Cup.

Re: UEFA Champions League 2006-2007 - [Group Stage - Round 6]

Guess it's time for me to put my Claude Puel avatar back on for a couple days again.

Happy for Roma. I really hope they finally start playing well in Europe.
I do too but just wondering, you did look at the Valencia line up for that match right? :p

Roma won 1-0, yep. But the Valencia team they faced can't even really be called their B team. It was more like a "C" team apart from a couple regulars such as Raul Albiol and Joaquin.

Having won the group already and being in such horrible injury crisis, they clearly didn't care much about that match in Rome and Quique Sanchez Flores' lineup and decisions showed that.

Re: UEFA Champions League 2006-2007 - [Group Stage - Round 6]

Lille is just amazing and deserves the qualification for his 3 year hard work. Best performance ever for Lille :D.

Re: UEFA Champions League 2006-2007 - [Group Stage - Round 6]

Lille is very good and I'm glad they've made it through the last 16. At the end of the day, I do think they're a stronger team than AEK and Anderlecht (though not by a large margin) and are more likely to upset the big guns with the players they have at their disposal like Makoun, Kader Keita, Bodmer, Odemwingie, Tafforreau and young promising talented players like Debuchy and Cabaye just to name a few.

But while they're good, Claude Puel is great and a huge reason for where this football club is today. No doubt about it. 8)

He deserves and has regained his spot on my avatar.
