Trance / Dance / House Music Discussion

Yes it is underrated indeed. Not a song I got crazy about since the first time I heard it (the way I did with "Tiny dancer" or with "With every heartbeat" for example, I fell in love with them at the very first time).. But I must admit it's a song I always listen to with pleasure.

Airbase - Lucid, what a tune!!! :D Anyone got? I just have. Lovely.

Heard about Gabriel & Dresden splitting? What a unique sound they have, shame there'll be no more of it apparently. Their remixes of Southern Sun, In My Memory and Read My Mind were my favourites, and I loved Tracking Treasure Down. Also they're behind Motorcycle, so of course As The Rush Comes
 
Listened to a couple of remixes made by them.. The last one I heard I think it was the killers' "Read my mind"

But I have not made a mix myself in the last month either, so you're forgiven :D
 
Heh, I'd be game. Would be nice to have a 24/7 radio server to stream tunes & mixes off, but unless we've got £60-70 spare a month to pay for a good quality one I'll stick to downloadable mp3s and blogging, heh.

Btw, Boom Jinx - Eternal Reminiscence... a tune to make your balls grow.

Oh yes, the Original is king mate, I've used it in me latest mix yesterday. Here's "Time To Rest" by Andy Blueman too, it's due out with some remixes anytime soon. I think this is even better than Nyctalopia.

Yesterday I forgot the CD in my car's stereo and unfortunately I had already deleted the tracks on my hard disk, so I had to wait until today (too lazy to go outside to get the CD from the car).. Well, at least I managed to rip the CD and upload it ;)

Indeed, she's a cracking vocalist and mildly attractive to boot. That bizarre haircut just... is bizarre and wouldn't usually make a difference to someone's looks to me but it does with her. Her album is quality. And I like the Haji remix of Who's That Girl, it's proper 80's magic.

Even if my favourite one is still the Tong & Spoon remix of "With every heartbeat".. I used to go crazy when they first played it in clubs last summer, even if I had no clue of who was made it by.
Then they started broadcasting it also on vivafm and that's the way I knew about Robyn :D
 
I do like that Robyn remix in your set there man! Good stuff, as is Get Far - Shining Star. I wasn't sure if this was the same tune I heard years ago, and it turned out I was right. Would love to find a few Robyn acapellas, as she's crying out for a proper trance remix. The Bryan Kearney mix of With Every Heartbeat is good but pretty simple.

Just finished an intro mix of a trancey version of the Smashing Pumpkins - Disarm, shall be using it in the next trance set.
 
"Shining star" is a song that had a great success here in Italy, especially the remix by Gianluca Motta.

but to be honest, my favourite song by Fargetta (a.k.a. Get far) is much older:

If you're using Virtual DJ, there's a "rec" button shown just above the folder/playlist browser.

For example, in Virtual DJ 1.xx (the one I'm currently using, I've bought it from GameStop for something like 4 or 5€ and it's one of the programs I still use the most) you'll find this kind of screen while mixing:

The "rec" button is the second from the right (highlighted). In there, you'll find all the settings you need to record the mix.

I usually enable the autostart but disable the autocut (I like to have more control on where to cut one track from another).. Then it's just about clicking "Start recording" and then to start mixing.

Once finished the mix I'll just converti it to mp3 to upload it, then split the tracks with nero wave editor and burn them.
 
Bloody hell, flashback @ VDJ! I used to use that for a bit when doing radio shows online. I'd play mixes I'd already recorded in one deck and jingles / samples down the other - the flanger you get in the common FX pack found round the net is absolutely belting.
 
I got it back in 2004, for a ridicolous price, off GameStop. I was there looking for everything but it, and I ended up buying VDJ :D
Then I started using it some weeks after, when I had to play music at a new year party..

Then I never abandoned it, though it has evolved and it's now to version 5, I still use that old v 1.06.. Which seems to have serious trouble also with dual-core CPUs, but it doesn't matter.. I'd rather run it on a single core by doing it manually in task manager, than drop it in favour of something else :P
